Trump and Fox at war: Neither side is backing down
CNN ^ | January 27, 2016: 9:27 AM ET | Brian Stelter

Posted on 01/27/2016 7:23:12 AM PST by WhiskeyX

"My guess is that people who bought advertising time thinking that Donald Trump was going to be on the stage are going to be very disappointed when nobody decides to watch that GOP debate," Lewandowski said Wednesday on "Good Morning America."

[....]

The GOP frontrunner also lambasted Fox for insulting him. He said the network's statement on Tuesday afternoon was "a disgrace to good broadcasting and journalism" and asked "Who would ever say something so nasty and dumb."

Who? Roger Ailes is who.

For days Trump had been calling Kelly "biased" and claiming she shouldn't be allowed to moderate the debate.

After Trump taunted Kelly in an Instagram video and polled his Twitter followers about whether he should skip the debate, Ailes, the powerful chairman of Fox News and a longtime friend of Trump's, signed off on this snarky statement:

CNN has been the biggest beneficiary this season. Their ratings were in the toilet and Trump saved them.

Fox will lose this battle even if Trump loses Iowa.

Absolutely brilliant move by Trump. It will DOMINATE the news cycle for at least 24 hours. Trump leads the media by their nose ring wherever he wants them to go. That is what he means when he says he’ll get along and work with Pelosi and democrats. It’s a textbook example of leadership. We haven’t seen this kind of leadership for so long many - even here on FR - don’t recognize it.

“Fox will lose this battle even if Trump loses Iowa.”

Yup. Sacrifice a pawn for a bishop. Or in this case, commissar.

To what end?

I don’t think Donald knows the day before.

Brilliant, but rudderless.

Trump has already won the debate, he dominates it. Cruz is the biggest potential loser here as he can only harm himself trying to defend against the pro-Amnesty and pro Muslim Moderators. Fox does not like Cruz either.... they want the GOPe candidate.

Trump and Fox at war: Neither side is backing down

For some reason I am happy to see Trump hold firm.
The first Fox blonde Bimbo eruption was arrogant and embarrassing.

The slut strutting down the hall in premature celebration of how she and her "news reader" co-conspirators were "gonna get" Trump. How they all decided which Republican they should "get" the "best" question to achieve their goal and who best to do it.

How did that work out?

And the other Fox talking heads decided to double down.

The delusional male weenie on Fox, last night, babbling incoherently as to how "legitimate" the now famous question about how "Trump treated Rosie O'Donnell was.

Legitimate?

How many times do Fox News and Megyn need to be embarrassed?
Guess what, losers? Your professionalism is non-existent. And if Trump holds a charity event and it's televised at the same time as the so-called "debate," guess what I'll be watching?

Try reporting the news, not attempting to create it.

Bye bye.

I read your link.

Even if Trump's boycott backfires, he's already achieved a historic victory: Exploding the myth that a Republican candidate can't openly challenge Fox.

And by extension, the media at large. The power of the media must be culled. I don't care if it's Fox, MSNBC, CNN, ABC, etc. It should be a very high priority for any candidate I would support. Their days of manipulating public opinion and wielding power as a de-facto fourth branch of government need to end.

Fox will lose this battle even if Trump loses Iowa.

Of course.
Fox will claim credit for it, and so will the Blonde Bimbo.

And traditional professionalism might emerge from the debris...

Agreed. What controls Roger Ailes? Viewership and advertising. Follow the money. Say what you want, if you lose Advertising, and viewers, its time for damage control. In the end, they will seek to rectify the damage.

Trump’s having fun. Fox thinks it’s a war. No matter what Fox does, nobody’s talking about Cruz, Rubio, Jeb, or issues - Trump won another battle.

The best thing for Fox would be to drop it and let Trump move on to his next attention getting statement and hope it’s not about them.

Brilliant, but rudderless.

It does appear that way. I read an article here on FR from Scott Adams, the guy who created Dilbert. He presented a very good argument that Trump wins by creating a series of win-win scenarios for himself. That on a 2D level, he looks rudderless, but if you expand out to a 3D level, you can see that he puts himself in situations where he comes out the winner regardless of the outcome.

I'm on the fence as to how this ends up working out for Trump. But the blog post by Adams was pretty compelling.

“Google and Fox announced Tuesday afternoon that an anti-Trump Muslim advocate, Nabela Noor, would be allowed to play a role in the debate. She was apparently chosen by Youtube, with help from the RNC and Fox. African American, Mark Watson, and Latino, Dulce Candy will also join the moderators in the debate to ask the candidates a question on an issue that matters to them and their communities.”

Trump did the right thing to avoid the Fox ambush set-up.

Not FOR Pelosi and Democrats, like the GOPe eunuchs of the last 8 years... or the current desperate "new" Eunuchs...

Brilliant!
