Trump: Unlike Cruz, ‘I Have a Heart,’ I’ll Enact Universal Health Coverage
National Review ^ | January 31, 2016 12:20 PM | Tom S. Elliott

In an interview this morning on This Week, Donald Trump cited his desire to "help people" as the reason he favors government-funded universal health coverage. Unlike Ted Cruz, Trump said, "I have a heart."

"If somebody has no money and they're lying in the middle of the street and they're dying, I'm going to take care of that person," Trump said.

>>you post nothing but total falsehood <<

Thanks for reading, anyway.

What part was wrong? Was it when I quoted your rock-ribbed conservative Canadian?

“We strongly urge our colleagues in Congress to vote for trade-promotion authority,” Cruz stated, along with co-author Rep. Paul Ryan, R-Wis., in a Wall Street Journal op-ed on April 21, 2015.

.
Under Trump healthcare would no longer be a profession, it would be a vocation, like school teacher.

The way it worked prior to Obamacare was that those who paid got the better plans. Those who didn’t restricted to necessary care.

Many states now cover the children and I’m not sure that’s not the way to go, let states handle it. The feds are where we always get screwed. You can move out of New York to Texas, much harder to escape the feds.

That is “Authority,” Not TPP.

I can see now that you simply lack the cognition to grasp the difference.

Yeah, that’s the ticket . . . cite Cruz’s support for TPA in order to defeat the contention that Trump is in favor of single-payer. Whoo hoo! Let’s ride this roller-coaster!

Sure, Trump may make single-payer efficient while he’s in office, but what happens once he leaves? Aye, there’s the rub.

What happens if a giant asteroid hits mid continent in the USA? That would mess up everything, dang just another thing to worry about.

I’m sticking with the consistent Conservative.

*Glances up from reading Cruz’s record of being against Prop 187, voting in favor of TPA, in favor of HB-1 visas, etc, etc, etc.*

I guess it depends on how you define ‘consistent’ and ‘conservative.’

He made it absolutely clear this is NOT SINGLE PAYER.

It is absolutely clear that it's TAX PAYER!

Unworthy, as in JK< LBJ, Bill Clinton and GHWB and more. I suggest you spend some time researching our past presidents and the things they have done in their lives and while in office. Then, maybe, then, you can point your self-righteous, holier than thou, finger at Donald Trump.

Just like Obama was a blank slate (look what we got), Trump is a blank slate.

The notion that Obama was a blank slate is just plain specious, he revealed himself consistently at every opportunity. The fact that the media ignored this is our fault, for putting up with it.

The most trusted man in America.

Commie thru and thru
and America loved him.

I guess it depends on how you define ‘consistent’ and ‘conservative.’

Alternatively, it depends on whether you consider a 'no' vote on TPA a 'yes.'

Thank you for being reasonable.

Unfortunately, almost no one’s going to listen to it who doesn’t already support Trump. I don’t think it’s about policies any more; it’s about rancor. Most of the people on this thread HATE Trump and will take ANY excuse to attack him. But if Cruz was saying the exact same thing, they’d be falling all over themselves to assure us that he meant something else.

Maybe you could enlighten us as with your great “cognition” as to what Obama was seeking fast-track authority to do, in April of 2015, eh?

“Trump is classless and crude, along with being a serial adulterer and strip club owner. He is SO unworthy to be president.”

Trump likes to rule large organizations. If he became POTUS who in their right mind actually believes he would shrink his new “kingdom”?

“Trump has big heart with other peoples’ wallet.”

That is precisely the problem with socialism, whatever name it goes by (Labour, liberal, progressive, National socialist - NAZI, Italian Fascism, international socialism - communism, etc.)

That is like saying “Socialism can actually work quite well.” Only it can’t.

So what is your plan for Obamacare?

T: Obama care is going to be repealed and replaced.

How are you going to fix it?

T: There’s many different ways, by the way, everybody’s got to be covered....this is an unRepublican thing for me to say, because a lot of times they say, no no, the lower 25%, they can’t afford it, but....

Universal Healthcare?

T: I would, am going to take care of everybody, I don’t care if it costs me votes or not, I’m going to take care of everybody is going to be taken care of, much better than they are taken care of now.

The uninsured person? How are they going to be taken care of?

T: They’re gonna be taken care of.

How?

T: I would make a deal with existing hospitals to take care of people. And, you know what, this is probably.,

Make a deal, who pays for it?

T: The government’s gonna pay for it, but we’re gonna save so much money on the other side. But for the most part, it’s going to be a private plan, and people are going to be able to be able to go out and negotiate great plans with lots of different competition, with lots of competitors, they can have their doctors, they can have their plans, they can have everything.

So riddle me this batman.....how is it “private” if the government is in control of it? That is not private. He keeps using that word, and I do not think it means what he thinks it means. And to me, ANY plan that is put forth by the govt for “healthcare”, single payer or not, is unacceptable, because I believe they have no business being involved in it. It is only “PRIVATE” when it’s left to the people and private companies, with NO government involvement.
