Do you honestly think Trump would not have used that information to gain a competitive advantage if the opportunity had presented itself?

Yeah, the “shaming letters” really pissed those Iowa voters off...unlike skipping the only debate in the state four days before the caucus, which was a tactical masterstroke.

I have a feeling that a year and a half from now we’ll all be on here heartbroken because Washington hasn’t changed a bit. No matter who gets elected. We’ve all seen it way too many times to get too excited about any candidate.

Kind of proves Iowa has no business being first.

Whack job central.

You can’t argue with the results. Cruz sent the letters and they voted for him.

200,000 Republicans voted in the Iowa caucuses out of a population of 3,000,000 people.

I’m not sure this means anything other than Cruz has 1 more delegate than Trump and Rubio.

Why would Rube-o be considered the most electable candidate? He’d just deliberately throw the election to the Democrats, as he is paid handsomely to do.

Of course he's eligible.

And he's "insane" because he's an Evangelical?

No sale.

I know. Cruz showed courage by criticizing big corn in Iowa. How can anybody call Trump a conservative when Trumps supports ethanol subsidies which drive up the cost of food and damages car engines?

Didn’t fool the conservatives? They went for a communist, a crook and a conniving Canadian. Enough said! Sounds like they lack good judgment.

I have missed a lot of today’s news and maybe this has been beat over, but I am surprised that I have seen no discussion of how the vote would have gone had Cruz not started the rumor that Carson was quitting.

Carson must have lost some voters as a result of the lie. If those voters had stayed with Carson, then not only would Cruz have not won, but Trump would have a bigger spread over Rubio.

Of course it is pure conjecture as to who switched and who would not have, but sober thinking on the subject should bring one to the conclusion that the lie about Carson makes the results in Iowa confusing and probably no guide as to the future.

In other words, when you have an unknown, it is probable that the value of the unknown is also unknown.

Trump isn’t a conservative and it’s been incredibly annoying to see base voters treating him like he is one and spitting on actual conservatives in the race. I didn’t vote in the last presidential election and haven’t been here in some time, but if Cruz actually won that might change.

Trump has the exact same information on the media that Cruz did. The difference in what did with it is obvious.

Cruz gave Trump ammunition he is already using - real dumb move.

Carson isn’t too happy either;

By Evangelicals, are you talking about the the heretics Luther unleashed 500 years ago that decided to go into the Jesus business for themselves?

It pays great.

Just ask the Reverends Sharpton, Jackson, and Wright!.

Jesus founded the real Church.

-——had Cruz not started the rumor that Carson was quitting.-——

Cruz didn’t start that rumor, CNN reported Carson was going back to Florida and implied he was quitting...

Cruz team just re-reported it....heavy on the quitting part....

Politics is a blood sport....Cruz did apologize to Carson for jumping the gun on a bad piece of reporting...

It’s his own fault. If had not skipped the debate more people would have voted for him. I told you the voters wouldn’t take it kindly.
