The NFL announced Tuesday that Lady Gaga will be singing the national anthem during the pregame festivities.
The "Poker Face" singer's performance will be broadcast live on CBS before the kickoff of the game between the Denver Broncos and the Carolina Panthers.

Lady Gaga is a very good musician and is dedicated to music. Her politics and morals suck big green weenies but she is a musical genius. If she sticks to the music she will be a great singer of our National Anthem.
Ah, the declining, politically-correct NFL. I’m sure the vast majority of football fans in the United States are big Lady Gaga fans.
Tony Bennett is a left wing, anti-military, America hater, so yes, they’re a good fit.

I wish she didn’t use marijuana while she is composing. She doesn’t need it and it is a myth that Edgar Allen Poe used alcohol to compose his poetry.
The woman has talent it’s just the way she dresses it up. I prefer her at her piano to her choreography. With the anthem, she’ll be standing still, so it ought not be bad. (Doubt it’ll be offensive — this could be an audition for a future half-time.)

Every Super Bowl should have the Glee Club from one of the Service Academies sing the National Anthem, as written and backed by an Armed Forces band & color guard...and with a parachute jump preceding and a flyover following.
OK to have celebs for the playoffs. Little Big Town gave an acceptable performance this year — no frills, trills, or rills, just decent harmony.

Lady Gaga has been going mainstream for quite a while now. Her voice is amazing. I love to hear her sing.

If you check out the stuff she did with Tony Bennett, or her tribute to “the Sound of Music” at the Oscars a few years ago, you’ll see she has a nice voice and can class it up when she wants. I would assume it will be that Lady Gaga at the Super Bowl, not the one who wears a “steak dress” on MTV.
Won’t be watching. I’m having eye surgery on Friday afternoon and I suspect watching TV will not be recommended by my doctor.
That’s fine. I have a set of teaching tapes I’ve been wanting to listen to ... and this will be a perfect time. Planning to have a few “ready to eat” kind of stuff so I don’t have to do a lot of cooking when I get hungry. My local grocery story has a fabulous deli section .. and it’s one of the few times that I take advantage of it.
Weather here is going to be warm .. so it will just be a lazy, easy day.
