He attacked Mexicans as rapists and murderers

That's some spin on it for you. Only a complete idiot would assimilate all Mexicans are rapists and murderers from Trumps comments about illegals coming over and being rapists and murderers.

He just bragged and bragged; he didn’t give us a vision for the country. After watching that speech, I knew that my affection for Trump was purely out of entertainment. I could never support him politically.

He summed up what a lot of FReepers have said.

Trump lost IA., and in response attacked Cruz's character and created a phony issue about a mailer. Trump's attacks are always about the person. He has no real policy positions other than "it will be great, trust me", "it will be good, trust me", "everyone is an idiot, trust me".

Yeah but Cruz pulls Hillary tactics when it comes to elections. His credibility after Iowa is zilcho. Right off the bat she commits voter fraud with staged coin tosses and he lies about Ben Carson, even has his people call up voters and lie about Carson and then sending out scam letters to people, Imagine getting this in the mail with your neighbors names on it.....

Cruz and Trump are both flawed. And judging by the posts here this election cycle, they have no monopoly on the issue.

From the article:

His (Trump's) speech was so unprofessional, laced with profanity. He attacked Mexicans as rapists and murderers and said they weren't sending their best. Half of our servers at that dinner were Hispanic, some probably of Mexican descent. They seemed embarrassed.

*******

I was at the event where Perry dropped out of the race. Cruz was there and spoke also. After those two speeches we had lunch and one of the Hispanic servers came up to me and asked if Ted Cruz was still around. I told her I thought he had already left. She had been working during his speech and really wanted to hear him.

I had a couple more encounters with random Hispanics who really like Ted with no prompting from me. How do you poll people like that?

THe first time I heard Trump speak I became a strong supporter. The first time I looked at Cruz I knew he was un-electable in a general.

"Trump is a populist, not a conservative."

Nailed it.

How he gained such a following on "the premier online gathering place for independent, grass-roots conservatism on the web" remains a mystery.

Maybe "populism" should be added to the description.

I like this kid! “Sure, there are some things that I would like to see Cruz stand for, such as criminal justice reform (I would love to talk to him about how important that is to young people like me), but you will never find a candidate you agree with 100% of the time.”

Has Cruz mentioned the corruption in the Department of InJustice?

Trump's rise made it more apparent that we need Ted Cruz, not only for this election, but to save the definition of conservatism itself. Trump is a populist, not a conservative.

Nailed it! Populism sucks. It's an offshoot of liberalism and has more in common with Bernie Sanders' views than Ted Cruz'.

I Once Heard Donald Trump Speak. Here’s Why That Prompted Me To Endorse Ted Cruz.

One possible point in favor of a Trump administration is that the annual State of the Union address and his inaugural address would be absolutely hilarious.
