With the republican primary race now heading to South Carolina we take a look at the last verifiable polling (large sample, low MOE) which was taken by NBC and the Wall Street Journal in January (full pdf below).

Remember the golden rule of MSM polling. “When polls are silent, it generally means the outcomes are adverse to their preferred media narrative."

Trump could fill the Georgia Dome in downtown Atlanta. Wouldn’t it be fun to see 50,000 people at a rally.

See, Mrs. Bill can stop throwing the lamps and ash trays (if they still had them); she leads no matter what. The American people wouldn’t have it any other way.

"They'll likely pull the money strings and narrow it down to ONE establishment guy. Christie is already out, so they just need two more to die off after S.C."

Nothing like that will happen until after FL.

Trump hates conservatives

He called Cruz a pussy. He brags about calling him a pussy and says that’s why he won.

It’s clear unprofessional I presidential behavior.

The January polls mean very little.

The hatred trump is selling for Cruz will not sell well in South Carolina and the rest of the south.

I think Cruz can win sc and I hope he does.

We wish we had the same electorate that existed during Reagan let alone Ike.

Yeah, but we don’t and it’s a little distressing that conservatives USED to always say that it was wrong to blame the voters.

The fact is, American voters almost always get exactly what they want. I maintain that what the public wanted in 2008 was not just an end to Bush (for a lot of reasons), but they wanted to send a signal that they weren’t racist. Zero’s policies DIDN’T MATTER. The message average, guilt-ridden Americans wanted to send was that the age of racism was past us. (I know, it didn’t work, but bear with me). They reelected ZEro for the same reason: they did NOT want to “be responsible” for him failing.

I had always wrongly predicted that the first black president would have to be a conservative-—that liberals out of their own warped ideology would have to vote for him or her. Well, it proved just the opposite.

Now, American voters are, I think, sending a clear signal. They don’t care about ideology. We’ve had two midterm elections full of ideology without one single accomplishment. Rightly or wrongly, Ted Cruz is right in the middle of doing nothing. “Trying” isn’t enough. I have maintained that the worst thing a candidate can say is “I sponsored a bill.” The public wants accountability, winning or losing. I think that is Trump’s main appeal. He states a problem (illegals), poses a pretty simple solution (build a wall, stop Islamic immigration), then offers himself to be judged on whether or not he wins or loses. It’s really that simple.

If not audible, then how did the message come? It would be a fair, and instructive, question.

I saw an episode of the X-Files where the ATM issued fairly unfortunate instructions. Could it have been something like that?

Those 10,000 people...they are just going there to see a show! They just want to be entertained. They have no intention of voting on primary night, much less voting for Donald Trump, who by the way, has no ground game. Why all Donald Trump likes to do is fly around the country in his fancy jet and give speeches. He’s not going to win any elections like that! Just give it time, this Trump mania will fall by the wayside and the people will come to their senses and vote for a traditional candidate, say Jebbie Bush or that nice Marco Rubio.

“Trump was the first candidate with courage to say anchor babies are not citizens.”

Well Cruz said the same thing in 2015, said he had a long history of saying the 14th amendment was wrong. But in 2011 Rafael said something much different. Then it was Constitutional and all for it. Flip flop, flip flop.

You are absolutely correct. This is just a side show on Trump’s part.

New Hampshire simply can’t be explained why he won.

It was a business. Have you ever opened a small business? Most small business, around 50 percent according to the SBA fail within five years. Of those 36 percent file bankruptcies. That is risk and reward. The same happens with larger firms and spinoffs. Some make and some fail. A lender has to weigh the risk when loaning money. They do this all the time.

Trump nor his spin off businesses defrauded people. It is just the way the world works. How many new job creating business has Cruz, or Rubio started? How many jobs did they create outside their political campaigns? How many jobs did people lose working for them? Measure those against what Trump has accomplished and then get back.
