Hey Governor Jackass,

All of the victims of slavery including the hundreds of thousands of Union soldiers and their families are DEAD! Unfortunately your bloodline somehow survived.

What has the governor really accomplished? As Rush would put it: “symbolism over substance”.

Is it just me, or does the pendant around the neck of the woman in the gray-striped sweater kinda look like an upside-down cross?

Hard to tell. Could be an upside down cross. Could be that each arm of the cross is the same length. In either case it doesn't look like a traditional Christian crucifix. But the picture could be deceptive I guess.

So, every white person has to sign an apology for slavery, in perpetuity?

How about blacks signing thank you notes for America ENDING slavery? The USA did not invent slavery. Our legacy is that we ended it. Be grateful! Be proud!

My ancestry if mostly Irish. Many of my ancestors were listed as “Servants” which many were slaves also. To say that only Blacks were slaves is racist. To punish the sons for the sins of the fathers is not Biblical.

It’s not apologizing. You can only apologize for something that you have done. It is submission, pure and simple. Bowing down and saying that Whitey is evil and deserving of having all his money taken and then being wiped out.

Actually, Delaware was one of 5 slave states who fought on the Union side. We still had slavery here after the Civil War for a short period of time.

Regardless, this pandering on the part of Markell and the Democrats is simply to cement their base in an election year.

“Delaware” didn’t impose Jim Crow on blacks in the state. The Democrat establishment did. If Republicans were in charge in that era, there would have been no Jim Crow. Jim Crow is a Democrat invention to keep power, period. Democrats need to apologize for it. Its a huge evil stain on American history brought about by Democrats, period.

***Moreover, Delaware lost a lot of men in the civil war, trying to abolish slavery.****

Especially when Delaware was a SLAVE STATE that did NOT join the South, and kept Slavery legal for eight months AFTER the Civil War ended, all the time under the Stars and Stripes!

Other slave states that did not join the South, remained, or forced to remain in the Union...
Maryland
Kentucky
West Virginia
Missouri
Several kept Slavery legal after the Civil War ended till the 13th Amendment was ratified.

How can you apologize for something that you didn’t do? The same exact reasoning allows you to be blamed for what you didn’t do - which is as fundamental of an injustice as there is on this planet.

Of course, such apologies and blaming is part and parcel of the Leftist ideology - which is why I will vote for ANY Republican over the Wicked Bitch of the North or Crazy Uncle Bernie. I have my preferences, but ANY of those left (yes, even YEB! - not that he has a snowball’s chance in Hell of winning) will be head and shoulders above those 2.

Is this apology directed to the people of the North who now have to deal with the decedents of refuges who fled Dixie because they didn’t stop treating them like crap even after slavery ended? If so, I don’t accept the apology.

Seems to me since DE has been Rat/RINO ruled for the past 30 years or so there is plenty of more recent stuff to apologize for, some it the Governor is actually personally responsible for.
