"Trump represents the only hope for getting enough crossover and independent votes to overcome those tit sucking parasites." Problem. Many crossover voters are tit sucking parasites. They won't crossover unless Trump gives them a tit. So much for change.

I purposely ignored your follow up question below out of charity to be frank. Why? How can I rationalize my initial refusal to answer your question with “charity”? Simple. Because a “conservative” (at least one should be a conservative on FR) shouldn’t even ASK such a question!!! Your question:

“Now do you advocate that 25% pay for their own HC? If yes, how do you propose to make them pay for it?? Do you have any workable solutions??”

I most emphatically and resoundingly answer: YES I most certainly DO “advocate” that 25% (really everyone) “pay for their own HC”!!! What an offensive thing for one (alleged) conservative to ask another!!! Don’t fall into the phony emotionalism that (apparently) Trump is selling which is that since 25% of the population NOW can’t (or won’t) pay for their own HC costs that means somehow we must continue to pay for them, as if 25% of the population is UNable to support themselves (physically).

I realize they are on welfare of some sort but does that somehow justify CONTINUING to pay for them, for ETERNITY??

Here’s the solution and it’s one that Ted Cruz has ALWAYS said (and one Trump has recently espoused, that is probably after some internal poll told him the “government will pay”’line polled really badly along conservatives.):

Give people HSAs
Give them the ability to shop across state lines (for health insurance)
Give them the ability to take their insurance with them after they leave a job (portability).
Tort reform.

Those things, when implemented, will dramatically reduce insurance costs if not the direct cost of health care for EVERYONE. Not just this poor, incapable “25%” you and Trump keep harping about but everyone.

This is the Ted Cruz plan. And he has NEVER said “the government will pay”.

Do you realize those who pay taxes or HC insurance are paying for those who can’t??

And that it’s most likely the government that is paying for them??

Do you realize that is the group Trump says “government will pay” about?

Do you seriously think Ted is going to take that away from the 25%??

Before I answer on my plan for the 25% who don’t have healthcare, let’s just make clear that your acknowledgement does mean the Cruz was NOT lying.

On the 25% without healthcare, keep in mind I am not running for president. Much of that cost is borne by private insurers (via higher costs spread to those with insurance) and States and localities within which the hospitals operate. I’d advocate State governments put in place their own plans and require the recipients of the insurance (or medical care without insurance) to provide labor in compensation. I’d do the same for all forms of welfare, with hourly rates below minimum wage to incentivize move to work in the private sector. Labor would take the form of cleaning, highway maintenance, providing childcare to other recipients’ kids, and could even just be digging and filling holes. Whatever - no free ride.

This does two things - privately insured people no longer bear uninsureds’ costs, and it makes the whole welfare system a temporary net, instead of the hammock it’s become.

Pro abortion, pro partial birth abortion, pro progressive taxes, pro Canadian health care, pro Amnesty, pro tariffs, pro assault weapons ban, pro TARP, pro eminent domain, pro affirmative action, Clinton/left wing politician donater.........

Yeah yeah, these were views last decade, last year, last month, anything prior to June 2015. Doesn't matter to his supporters.

NO Conservative........again NO CONSERVATIVE has ever believed in ALL of these and all of sudden had a come to Jesus moment when they decided to run for president.

Just because he now says build a wall and kill terrorists makes him a realist, which I applaud.

But he's no Conservative......unless you want to change the definition to fit him in and make it feel good.

Still lying.

Trump was not talking about Obama’s apology tour. He had just got into office when Trump said that.

Obviously, Trump would not say that Obama was making the Unites States respected again if he had already gone out and started knocking the United States like he did.

“You’re saying that everyone but Rush agreed with Obama going around the world apologizing for America?”

Lying again. No one, no one, agreed with Obama’s apologizing to the world about the United States. Since you must be stupid, again, NO ONE, that means NOBODY, congratulated Obama for going overseas and slamming the United States.

I did not say that. I did not imply that.

Did that sink in?

The issue is Ted lying, not Ann. After watching the video and reading the transcripts at the link are you saying Ted wasn’t lying?

Actually, if Ann is being used as a "voice to be listened to" when she calls Cruz a "sleazy liar", then Ann IS part of the discussion as to what her motivations are. She has jumped on the Trump bandwagon because he validates who she is, so I don't give her comments much credence. We'll see if she "stays with the biker" if he doesn't get the Republican nomination, won't we?

About Cruz's comment? Nope, I don't think he's that far off when I've already called attention to the liberals use of certain propaganda like "Republicans want people to die" to moralize their taking over the health industry. Red flag for me is when Trump uses similar sounding terminology: "What I do say is, there will be a certain number of people that will be on the street dying and as a Republican, I don't want that to happen. We're going to take care of people that are dying on the street, because there will be a group of people that are not going to be able to even think in terms of private or anything else and we're going to take care of those people."

Another red flag to me is when Trump makes blanket statements that "everybody's going to be covered"

Guess who the "we" is that will pick up the tab to cover "everybody" or "people dying in the streets"? Trump isn't planning to pay for it out of his own pocket, it's "the Government" (our tax dollars) that is going to pick up the tab. Add all of the above to Trumps previous admiration of Scotland and Canada's healthcare systems and his 60 minutes interview...I don't think Cruz is out of line at all.

Did Ted clearly acknowledge that Trump advocates competitive, private HC insurance for the 75%?

Actually an amazing amount of people here on this thread can’t acknowledge that fact.

“Trump represents the only hope for getting enough crossover and independent votes.....”

“Every place I go, and everything I hear, there is a growing, growing sentiment that Gov, Reagan cannot win the election,” Ford said. “It would be an impossible situation,” Ford said of a Reagan nomination. He said... “A most conservative Republican can’t win in a national election.” - Ford, 1980

I’m a Conservative so I don’t subscribe to your way of thinking. I support Cruz because he is the true Conservative in the race and in any race where it’s strikingly offset between Right and Left, Right wins.

I’ll support whoever is against Hillary. But until that point, I choose the Conservative.

“Guess who the “we” is that will pick up the tab to cover “everybody” or “people dying in the streets”?”

The rest of us are already paying for them.

Missing from your post is the fact Trump clearly advocates private, competitive HC insurance like what we had before the ACA. Don’t forget that.

OK, all I can think of to say in that tirade of yours is how dare you call me a Democrat posing as a Conservative?

If you want to know where Trump stands, google “on the issues donald trump”.

And yes, you may not be old enough to know but people do evolve on issues, and I understand that he has but he loves this country and he sees it going to hell.

Don’t ever call on me “masquerading”. I will argue issues but to a Cruz supporter, they’re blind and that’s fine. I have always been fine with Cruz and fine with Paul Rand but I’m not terribly impressed with Cruz followers if you are an example. Snarky ass responses don’t impress me.

Yes of course! Now even more so with Obamacare!

And that it’s most likely the government that is paying for them??

Through our taxes (our money) yes of course see above!

Do you realize that is the group Trump says “government will pay” about?

Do you realize you've just admitted then, by asking this question and saying in part "that is the group Trump says 'government will pay'", that that says then that Trump is saying he's willing to keep the status quo?? NOT change what we have now, maybe "repeal" Obamacare but in reality just replace it with another law with another NAME but the same SUBSTANCE? Do you REALIZE that's what you're saying Trump is saying?

And this is supposed to convince me he is a "conservative"?

Do you seriously think Ted is going to take that away from the 25%??

If by "that" you mean "free" (aka wealth redistributed paid for) health care then my answer is, yes, I certainly HOPE he does want to take "that" away. But I guess Trump doesn't want to take "that" away huh? He (Trump) doesn't want to take away subsidized health care aka SOCIALIZED MEDICINE, does he?

So how did Cruz lie about Trump again?

It is sad to see FreeRepublic used to trash the most conservative candidate in a generation. Disagreeing with his specific positions, or arguing he isn’t the best candidate for President is fine. I’m not locked into voting for Cruz.

But the vitriol directed at him on FR boggles my mind. Particularly when his “principled opponent” is someone who supported DeBlasio just 3 years ago.

Yeah, I hear Trump "talking".......but I NEVER ignore red flags.

Obama talked a good game during the elections, too....and I'm sure MANY people thought he was talking about something "wonderful" when he said he was going to "fundamentally transform America".

Not me.........
