Grading the South Carolina Debate: Trump, Carson, Rubio, Cruz, Kasich, Bush
Opinion ^ | 14 Feb 16 | Xzins

Posted on 02/14/2016 4:36:44 AM PST by xzins

1. Trump, A+ -- Fought like a champion. Finally, someone with the guts to call out our nation for being 15 years at war, still killing our sons and daughters so politicians can put a feather in their cap, and most of them calling for more war. Bush wants BWIII, Bush War III

2. Carson, A-, quietly but effectively said that he was in it for the people, that he'd been asked to run, and that he wasn't there for any other reason. Outstanding.

3. Rubio, B+, Say what you like, but Rubio wiped the floor with Cruz on the immigration question. The April 2015 video shows Cruz supporting 'talking about what to do with immigrants after the wall is built.' It shows him calling for massive increases in H1B visas.

4. Cruz, C, Clearly the most knowledgeable about the supreme court vacancy. He needs to stop misrepresenting others' positions. Trump called him out on the Planned Parenthood question. Trump has clearly called for defunding PP if they keep doing abortions. If they voluntarily stop doing abortions, then he would support their doing breast exams and pap smears and the like.

5. Kasich, C, Did a Mr. Rogers in the neighborhood act. Hillary Clinton will eat his lunch.

6. Bush, F-, This man is totally lacking in insight. He actually called for another war in the middle east AND he wants to fund Al Qaeda in Syria. He's simply not up to the task.

I think that Trump’s swipes at Jeb and W were to prepare for W’s upcoming campaign visits to SC. He just reminded everyone of what made W so unpopular at the end of his term, limiting the effectiveness of having a former President come to the rescue of his hapless brother’s campaign.

Trump’s tactic is very smart in the context of a general election campaign. Above all, Jeb is a BUSH, and we have had enough of the Bush family in the White House.

Now freepers are defending Planned Parenthood. I never thought I’d see that.

I was just thinking the very same thing. What a strange and pitiful turn this forum has taken.

1. Trump, A+

When Trump said, "I could stand in the middle of Fifth Avenue and shoot somebody, and I wouldn't lose any voters, OK?" he was obviously thinking of you.

You do know that the Iraq war is not popular with the American people. This statement gave him the Presidential win especially against Hillary who voted for this mess. Trump is brilliant.

Jeb is making this political, yet even he stumbled over this for 5 days....whether Iraq was a mistak. As for 9 11, yes. it was the terrorists that are responsible...but they also keep saying how ‘you gotta be ready from Day 1 to be CIC”...still dont understand how they missed such a big attack lik that. Last thing w need is anothr Bush....enough already.

How many charities are medically staffed? That would change the status of a charity. But I would not object I just support women having availability to PAPS etc in an environment where NO abortion occurs.

See that is your problem. This had nothing to do with who was best President. It was who had the best debate and ranking. Why you are lying about the ranking is beyond me.

Thanks to Trump I now know that the audience is the donor class who’ve dropped big money on their bought and paid for candidates.

You’d think that would have been obvious, but for some reason I just hadn’t thought about it before.

Not everyone has the money to go to a private doctor.

If we are going to funbd this stuff at the federal level (and that really is a STATE matter for most freepers), then we should make sure that whatever organization that does it has no ties to abortion here or anywhere, and has never embraced eugenics. Planned Parenthood does ZERO mammograms, whoevert does the mammograms shuld be able to do manual exams and pap smears.

There is NO EXCUSE for Planned Parenthood to EXIST, much less get a dime of taxpayer money.

“Whats wrong with Americans getting what they paid for?”

Those paying into the top tier of SS will never get all their money back and raising the retirement age or cutting benefits will make SS even more of a socialized ponzi scheme.

Details on request, for those that want to calculate just how badly they’ll be screwed even with no changes to SS. A brief example is my husband, who if he works another 17 years until his retirement age of 67, would pay in ~$140K. That’s just his portion. With his employer’s portion it is ~280k. If he lives to the average lifespan of 83, he’d only get $40k more in benefits. And his group will be the first cut, making the theft from him even worse. So he quit work and we’ve gone Galt and are no longer supporting the fascist beast.

The opinions of zombies don’t matter.

Bail because he stands up and fights.

Well, you can run with your effeminized rules of non-confrontation candidates all you want, and the media will kill them just like it killed Romney, Dole, and McCain.

Or you can get wimp Bush, proper Cruz, Mr Rogers Kasich, or Pretty Boy Marco.

Tell me how that works out, will ya?

You’ve never seen a fighter before.

That’s truly sad.

And you think those other wusses are gonna make it.

Good God. Our country is about to fall apart and you are discussing schematics? Trump supports the good parts of Planned Parents. If that is what we are hanging our hat on, we are done as a country. Rubio and Cruz support Planned Parenthood as well.....the bill passed. It appears there are no good guys on the Planned Parenthood war........at least Trump didn’t vote for it.

It's a bit late to do anything about it, but the right formula for SS is,

"Your return from Socialist Security is in direct proportion to your contribution to it."

No $$ in -- no $$ out...

But, then, it wouldn't be "Socialist Security", would it...

And therein is one of the numerous hints that Trump is no conservative at all. Even if they stopped doing abortions, what business does the federal government have funding PP at all?

He’s a big government liberal. Welcome to reality.

I read that, and agree that we shouldn't be funding these groups. I agree with you on those points. The Obama policy is AWFUL. The Rubio policy might well be worse at least in Syria. Both Trump and Cruz at least seem to have legitimate U.S. interests at heart.
