In the latest Quinnipiac University national survey of likely Republican voters, Trump jumps to 39 percent of the vote, up eight points from the beginning of the month. The Texas senator, meanwhile, saw his share of the vote drop four points to 18 percent.
The big winner in the poll other than Trump is Florida Sen. Marco Rubio who held steady at 19 percent despite a setback in New Hampshire. With Cruz's slip, that was good enough to put Rubio in second place in this poll and for the first time the Real Clear Politics average of polls.

Rush may have to take tomorrow off when he hears this.
Cruz screwed himself royally.
He piped up that he saw Rubio on Spanish language TV.
Why is this so newsworthy?
B/c Cruz has trusting Texans thinking he does not know Spanish.
Morning Joe nailed it-—he said wimpy Obama’s blatherings make Trump/s strength even more appealing.
BTW, Mika and Joe moderate a Trump townhall 8PM tonight on MSNBC.
And US politics plumbs new lows.
I don’t understand what’s so wrong about knowing how to speak Spanish, other than the link to illegals.
Rush and Levin will not like this poll.
Will be watching Joe’s Townhall with Trump.
It’s only a problem if you try to deceive others into believing you don/t know how to speak it.
Thing is Cruz supporters bought their own bovine excrement, they got all excited after Iowa. Even the talk show guys like Uncle Levin were a little puffed up. Reality was Cruz has\had a likeability deficit and has come off as a strident ideologue. He really never had a chance. America will NOT elect a guy with his conservative credentials/ideas, they just won’t. I don’t like it, but I live in reality not 1980. We have too many people on the dole, who think the progressive tax system is a good thing, who think rich White conservatives are going to tell them what to do, what to watch, what religions are acceptable, and that the poor should fend for themselves. They are incorrect perceptions, but that is a reality to the voting dolts out there. I’ll take Trump who can give me MOST of what I want in a candidate, not all but most.
Cruz has\had a likeability deficit and has come off as a strident ideologue.
All the electability of Goldwater with all the likeability of Nixon.
So why did Cruz do that? Another one of his political machinations to get himself elected.
Texans are so trusting, God bless 'em.
Now they better realize they got a pig in a poke in US Sen Cruz.
I can tell you’re never lived in a U.S. region or population center which, thanks to government, are now approaching near 100% non-English. Where workers speak Spanish and a host of other languages, right in front of the dwindling English speaking population. Rude and in your face, does not begin to describe it for those subjected to it.
Our language, customs, religion, and history in all directions are under attack. This is not a good thing. Trust me.
The same reason he claims to be eligible to hold the office of President... He lives to deceive and why not when people like Levin and Rush spew off about his greatness... But his Jesus impression is his ugliest deception.

I did not know if I was watching the GOP debate or an I Love Lucy re-run.
Marco, dju hab a lot of 'splaining to do!
I’m from Texas and I have heard Cruz speak Spanish a few times before the debate.
I assume it was Spanish, not able to speak it myself.....
Scorched Earth. Just like the democrats.
One of the problems the rest of the pack is having against Trump is that they’re dividing up the anti-Trump vote. The only chance they have is that they all get together and decide who is going to drop out and who is going to be the remaining anti-Trump candidate.
Coulda been Canadian French....ROTFLOL.
