Donald Trump: Roe v. Wade Was “Wrongly Decided,” I Will Appoint Judges to Change It
Life News ^ | FEB 18, 2016 | STEVEN ERTELT

Posted on 02/18/2016 3:19:08 PM PST by Kazan

In the second part of an interview with David Brody of CBN, Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump said he thinks the Roe v. Wade Supreme Court case that ushered in an era of 48 million abortions was “wrongly decided.” Trump said he would appoint “very good judges” who would ultimately “change it” but he opposed roe without specifically saying it should be overturned.

“It’s been very strongly decided but it can be changed,” Trump told Brody. “Things are put there and they’re passed but they can be unpassed with time but it’s going to take time because you have a lot of judges to go.”

This part of the interview with CBN follows a portion that saw Trump commit for the first time to signing a bill to defend the Planned Parenthood abortion business — though the candidate said he still thinks Planned Parenthood does some good things.

Here’s the partial transcript and video of the interview:

David Brody: “Roe V. Wade: do you think it should be overturned and would you put Supreme Court Justices or would you look at Supreme Court Justices that felt that way.”

Donald Trump: “I will put people on that are going to be very very good and constitutionalists and they’re going to do a good job but it’s going to take a long time.” (Partial Transcription)

David Brody: “But beyond judges, do you believe Roe V. Wade was wrongly decided back in the day, back in 1973?”

Donald Trump: ‘Well I do. It’s been very strongly decided but it can be changed. Things are put there and they’re passed but they can be unpassed with time but it’s going to take time because you have a lot of judges to go.”

Previously, Trump issued an op-ed condemning Roe v. Wade but stopped short of saying it should be reversed.

If it did, the water would dissolve the mountain. So that makes no sense.

These look like marriages of convenience... Donald never was a Romeo. They all split amicably.

Have to wonder if you’d get that “deer-in-the-headlights” look if somebody asked him about Wickard v. Filburn.

Am I the only one who is ultra suspicious of Donald’s wording??
He didn’t say “ I will work to have it overturned.. he said “ I will appoint Judges that will “ change it.”
When pressed further he refused to answer!!!!

At first glance sounds pretty much like it is saying the same thing.

OK, so Donald will never be an attorney before the USSC. If this could even POSSIBLY be real, there should be room for cutting him a lot of leeway to see if it is. This is how a layman might talk about how it’s been backed up over and over in other decisions. Use some common sense.

Don’t try to pick it apart until it becomes obvious that there is no way to put it together (and it isn’t, yet).

That’s a fair question to ask, but are you willing to eat crow if he sticks to it?

since trump has already flip flopped on abortion numerous times I predict he’ll flip flop on abortion again. So don’t think there will be any crow eating given trump’s history

Personally I would have preferred the terms ‘abominable’ and ‘barbaric,’ but I’ll take what I can get.

Nobody is going to give us everything we want in Caesar. We’re going to have to embrace God to get everything we need.

Still, it seems sad that people should just mock Trump at this. He first doesn’t get the idea and you hate it. Now that he might get the idea, you still hate it. Is there any way to please you?

You don’t think there will be, but will you not coward out and confess? Some of this alleged “flip flopping” is things like defunding the non abortion arm of PP which really isn’t relevant. We do not have a mere binary option here, we have one with many details.

“First he states he is in support of Abortion for Rape, Incest and Health of the Mother.”

He said life of the mother, not health. Big difference. And BTW, most pro-life people agree with him. I don’t, in that I don’t think the incest part should be in there. But I’m OK with the life of the mother and forcible rape.

I personally am not okay with abortions from rape, because it’s punishing the innocent for the crimes of the guilty.

But right now, I will take everything that we can get in order to save innocent lives, even if those exceptions are allowed.

With Donny Kardashian? No. He changes his sound bites when he thinks it suits the listener. He still thinks abortion is okay “depending when.” When what? When it suits the lifestyle of the person getting the abortion? And unlike most of Donny’s supporters I’m not a one item voter (i.e. the Yuuuge Wall is not my driving force). The man is a sleaze, cheats on multiple wives, and is only concerned about himself and how he looks. I’d vote for Jeb before I’d vote for him.
