Hillary Paid Herself $250,000 From Campaign Funds
Washington Free Beacon ^ | March 4, 2016 | Joe Schoffstall

Posted on 03/04/2016 6:16:40 AM PST by C19fan

The campaign of Democratic presidential frontrunner Hillary Clinton has made payments totaling six figures to Clinton this election cycle, according to a review of its expenditures.

Federal campaign finance records reviewed by the Washington Free Beacon found that starting in April 2015, the month that Clinton launched her campaign, thousands in payments began flowing to the candidate. Clinton has previously claimed that she and Bill Clinton were “dead broke” when he left the White House, but the two have since amassed millions of dollars in wealth.

This is why people run for president even when they can win. It’s a chance for all your buddies to come up with grift and graft.

Yes, it’s legal. They all do it.

that was not a payment as such, she provided the campaign an invoice for a speech she gave to the assembled staff

Just because they are campaign staff doesn’t mean the speech was for free

I’m guessing she paid herself as a campaign consultant.

Wrong.

Read the article.

“No other candidate running for president recorded payments to themselves, FEC files show.”

Are you a Hillary supporter?

She needed the money to pay the Plastic Surgeons, Hair Stylists and Clothes Designers. I have to admit that they did a pretty good job of taking someone with a shape like a Penguin, a face like a Zombie and hair like a dirty mop look halfway presentable. She got her money’s worth for the time being.

This is why people run for president even when they can('t) win.

And exactly the reason people like Kasich, Carson and others stay in the race so long. Have to use up all those campaign funds to pay for the hotel suites, meals, plush cars and the staff of toadies. Better than actual work.

I believe you are allowed to pay yourself an amount equivalent to the salary of the office you are running for.

I would take a guess that the hair stylists, make-up artists and clothing designers are making at least $150k a month off her during this run.

In return for a suitable campaign contribution each month.

$150K per month? Probably a pretty good guess. It takes that much if not more to maintain pre-historic monsters.

Pocket change.

Look up the Bill, Chelsea, and Hillary Foundation (formerly known as the Clinton Foundation) IRS Form 990-PF online. Tedious, but eye-opening.

As an influence-peddling slush fund, it is an absolutely brilliant idea. But, a charity, not so much.

I don’t believe no other candidate does this. Current FEC filings are a very long way from having to fully disclose.

It is true that current office-holders *cannot* draw such pay from their campaigns. But even non-incumbent candidates for other Federal offices can draw such pay from their campaigns.

I believe paying themselves and their family and friends is the main reason no-chance candidates stay in the running, although they may prefer to launder the money through family members.
