Marco Rubio Campaign in Disarray as Questions Forcibly Surface

FULL TITLE: Marco Rubio Campaign in Disarray as Questions Forcibly Surface About His Viability as Presidential Candidate

-----

The presidential campaign of Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) is in disarray as the first-term Florida Senator’s window of opportunity for the White House seems to be slamming shut.

Questions about his supposed viability as a presidential candidate forcefully surface, even inside his own inner circle, amid horrendous performances by the establishment-backed candidate.

CNN’s Jamie Gangel and Tal Kolpan reported late Monday:

A battle is being waged within Florida Sen. Marco Rubio’s campaign about whether he should even remain in the Republican presidential race ahead of his home state primary on March 15, sources say. Rubio himself is ‘bullish’ on his odds of winning the critical primary, despite some advisers who are less hopeful and believe a loss there would damage him politically in both the short- and long-term. Publicly, the campaign is maintaining they are still a contender in this race, touting a Sunday win in Puerto Rico’s primary that delivered Rubio 23 delegates. But privately, the campaign is having a debate about whether he should remain in the mix — even for his home state of Florida’s primary.

Gangel and Kolpan quoted a source familiar with such discussions inside the Rubio campaign—specifically that he should drop out before Florida to protect his dwindling political future—as saying that Rubio “doesn’t want to get killed in his home state.” That source told CNN that in Florida “a poor showing would be a risk and hurt his political future.”

I think they represent the people they went there bound to because don’t the candidates choose their delegates?

You think Cruz is going to rock the boat on them you are naive....

But someone who contributes to Reid, Clinton and Schumer is going to oppose their programs. Who is naïve?

Someone who praises Planned Parenthood is going to become pro-life?

Who is the blind and naïve one?

Keep telling yourself that the guy who supports Planned Parenthood, Hairy Reed, Nancy Pelosi, Schumer and Hillary is a conservative.

Keep telling yourself that

Rubio will quit and endorse his fellow gopE...Cruz.

If Trump doesn’t get the votes needed for a first round ballot victory, you won’t have the chance to vote for Cruz OR Trump in the general election. I’ll bet you.

Don’t confuse the Cruz supporters with facts. I’m starting to believe there are many on here who are gopE and are pretenders. Just like the pretenders that run as Tea Party candidates. I say that because I can’t believe people would be so dumb as to not see what you just posted.

Like I’ve said before, either the Cruz supporters are plants or they’re all blind.

I’ve also said at the end of the convention they’ll either be scratching their heads and asking themselves “What the hell happened?” or they’ll be celebrating their gopE winner (not Cruz) and yelling “We pulled it off!”

Trump is GOPe. He’s a lifelong member of the donor class and was for amnesty at the exact same time Rubio was. It makes no difference whether Trump, Rubio or Kasich is elected. I’ll take my chances on getting Cruz.

Rubio is doing exactly what the machine wants him to do. Force Trump down into the mud and dirty him up in the minds of late deciding voters.

That, and trying to earn a smattering of delegates to keep Trump below the magic majority level, so as to force a brokered convention.

Trump went to an Ivy League school too, UPenn.

Who gives a $#!t if someone is an “outsider?” Oprah Winfrey is an outsider, you want to elect her next? We’ve sent a fair number of Tea Party conservatives into Congress. There has always been a minority within the GOP of great conservatives. The only way we make progress in advancing our ideology is by elevating one of them to high posts like the presidency. Ted Cruz is one of the true conservatives down to his core.

Even if the perfect person is elected (which no candidate is) it will take more than 8 years to restore the Republic.

You need to slow down the illegals so right minded people have a chance to vote in the right people for the next 2 decades.

He (Cruz) also has no ability to talk around the media. If he were to win the nomination the Media would close him out and go negative on him. If Cruz is the nominee I will vote for him but there is nothing to his candidacy that is exciting.

He is just a typical politician, with a typical politician's resume.

You "get it"

Very well written paragraph about Ted Cruz.

I wish a lot of so called "Conservatives" would wake up about Ted Cruz.

Yes, he's a good candidate.............if he was running for office in the late 1700s.

I see the naive posters here at FR and hear the naive callers on the Rush Limbaugh show. Their arguments for Cruz and against Trump are laughable.

About Trump: "He's not a Conservative!" "He'll be just like Obama with his executive orders!"

They think Cruz, if elected, will single-handedly usher in a new era of American Conservatism. Just elect Cruz and all our problems will disappear!

It's so silly and childish. It will takes decades to fix America's problems. Remember, the liberal movement has been working at their goals for an entire CENTURY.

Trump talks about bringing jobs back to America and stopping illegal immigration with a wall.

Cruz talks about the Constitution.

ARE YOU KIDDING? Which pitch has more appeal?????

This election isn't about Conservative this or Constitution that. It's about NATIONAL SURVIVAL.

Our culture, economy, and nation are hanging on by a thread. People don't want to hear about the f*cking Constitution!

ONE HUNDRED MILLION people in this country are not in the labor force. That's catastrophic.

Tens of millions of illiterate 3rd World peasants have invaded our country and will be voting Democrat forever if amnesty passes.

After that, there will be no need to vote anymore. It'll be checkmate.

Voters don't want to hear a lecture about the Supreme Court, the Constitution, or Executive Orders. They want to hear about immigration and jobs.

Cruz would be destroyed in 24 hours by the media. He can't even defend himself against another candidate (Trump).

Cruz's sales pitch sucks. He ability to deal with the media sucks.

I can't understand how people don't get this. Presidential politics is a glorified popularity contest, and the only hope for Republicans is to put up somebody "cooler" than the little media bitches that will constantly snipe at him.

Trump may not be the "perfect Conservative" that a lot of folks naively pine for, but he's a helluva lot better than the clowns we've had for 25 years.

A lot of people are waiting for the reincarnation of George Washington and won't accept anything less.

It's not going to happen. This is 2016.

A "perfect Conservative" that meets all the criteria on the Conservative "checklist" is not electable at the national level. Only in a very few districts would a person like this win an election at this time in America.

Maybe in a few decades, IF, our side can reverse the course of American politics and policy can a person like this win nationally.

Now is not the time to throw a Ted Cruz character on the national stage.

I've seen Ted Cruz speak. He comes across as a creepy Bible thumper. It's the image that he actually WANTS! but......

Most people in this country see that and are creeped out and want nothing to do with it.

It's sad but true. Most people in this country DO NOT want a churchy weirdo in charge.

Now is not the time for a Ted Cruz. Maybe in a few years.

Proving Rubio was a tool to begin with. Glad to not have the mendacious little liar in an important job. He’ll never win re-election to the Senate.

The first I recall speaking of a “North American Union” was R. Reagan in 1979.
