Which presidential candidate will do the least harm?
Tribune-Review (Pittsburgh Area) ^ | 9 March 2016 | Donald J. Boudreaux

The November election will almost surely feature an unprecedentedly bad choice: Hillary Clinton vs. Donald Trump. A calculating, power-mad machine politician with a history of duplicity and rule-breaking versus an economically ignorant and boorish rabble-rousing American version of Mussolini and Peron. This “choice” is akin to one between being killed by garroting or by being burned at the stake.

The only “benefit” of a Clinton victory is that it means a Trump defeat. Ditto for a Trump victory.

At this moment — my assessment might change tomorrow — I have a slight preference for a Trump victory. The reason is that the same mainstream media that would fawn idiotically over a Clinton administration would be appropriately merciless on a Trump administration. President Trump would not receive, because he does not deserve, any benefit of the doubt. President Clinton would receive, even though she does not deserve, every benefit of the doubt. This almost-certain difference in press treatment would tightly check the policies of President Trump while they would fuel those of President Clinton.

The author obviously likes neither the prospect of a Clinton nor a Trump presidency. However, given the current trajectory of the primaries, it is likely that those will be our choices, if not by the end of this month, then most certainly by Labor Day.

Don’t care about “least harm”.

Let’s Make America Great Again. Then pukes like this will still have a country to spew their stuff in.

It’s the voters who are guilty of doing the most harm.

It really very simple. Look around.

Like the current condition of the country and the world?

Vote for Hillary “More of the same” Clinton

Fed up with the state the USA and the world currently is in.

Vote for whom ever the GOP nominates.

After last night’s incredible speech and press conference, I am more convinced trump is the smartest man in politics right now. He has a knack for knowing how to win. That was a home run bringing out his Romney “call out” of failed businesses. I can see him beating ISIS, building the wall, getting our economy back and other things. No more apologizing for being Americans....that alone should comfort everyone. Keep in mind for over 200 years politicians brought us to this mess. Why not try a non politician for once. Can’t hurt. Don’t you agree?

Which candidate will bring the most change from the harm done.

TRUMP 2016, of course.

I could care less about his speeches. We’re still being reduced to picking the lesser of 2 evils.

The key to the Presidency is who the office-holder picks to advise him/her, and the alliances s/he forges with Congress.

With Clinton, we already know the type of people she will surround herself with, and who she will talk and listen to in the House and Senate. There is a lot of precedent to examine.

But what about Trump? Frankly, we don't know much about who he will bring to the White House. We do know, though, that in the past he has surrounded himself with people who, by their results, show they get jobs done in the building trades when they are allowed to. How will he pick his advisers, Cabinet, and consultants?

Donald Trump never served in the military. That puts him at a severe disadvantage as Commander In Chief. (Hillary didn't serve, either. Neither did Obama.) Trump would need to select a military adviser who knows the Armed Forces inside and out That puts our safety in the hands of an unelected person...but what else is new?

We know what's in store for the country if Hillery is elected. Da Trump is a murky read. Do you go with the devil you know, or the potential devil you don't know? That is the question.

The tie-breaker may be the Supreme Court, and the nominee thereto. With Hillary, we get a liberal, or worse, judge. With Donald, who knows?

This is one tough election year. And it will affect downballot results.

He has a knack for knowing how to win.

I can see how Donald Trump, if he goes all the way, could be like a dog chasing cars. One day the dog catches one. Puzzled look on his face: "NOW what do I do with it?"

No we don't. But I warmed to him when he picked Sen. Jeff Sessions to advise him on "open borders" issues. This is a very strong point in his favor despite solid misgivings elsewhere.

I also question why the author of this screed assumes he can only be a Mussolini or a Peron. There is still another possibility: an Augusto Pinochet.

What an easy question.
Hillary has already caused great harm in political office (dead) Ambassador and 3 other Americans, mishandling classified materials, lying while in office etc, etc. Trump has not because he has not held public office.
So under those circumstances you gotta take a chance on Trump........

“You hate voters. Voters CLEARLY want Trump especially Evangelicals.”

So when it was a vote between the lesser of two evils in 2008 and 2012. Did you hate the voters then? I mean they clearly wanted McCain and Romney.
