It is going to be tough for Donald Trump‘s detractors to argue that he isn’t a conservative now.
Conservative author, activist and icon Phyllis Schlafly today in St. Louis gave her endorsement to Trump for president.
“I asked him to stand by the Republican platform because we have the best conservative platform we’ve ever had and he endorses it. He will stand by it. He is a real conservative and I ask you to support him,” she said to a raucous ovation.
“I’m confident that Donald Trump will appoint judges like (Antonin) Scalia,” she added.
Schlafly said that “we’ve been following the losers for so long,” but that would change with Trump.
“Now we’ve got a guy who’s gonna lead us to victory!” she said.
The endorsement came on the same day Dr. Ben Carson gave his support to the Republican presidential front-runner who, at this point, looks unstoppable.

Amazing how many people have been beguiled and now look at elections as the sports-team/horse race game the media has portrayed it to be.
Principles, who needs ‘em? We want a “winner”, no matter the cost.
We want a “king” who will give us what we want.
And then we are called ‘haters’ for pointing out facts of character that do not comport with the foundational principles that were the only things that safeguarded the very idea of a Republic.
Oh well. This people will get what they think they want.
The ideas that were governed by the principles they have discarded for expedience will never again be seen by anyone currently alive. But they will lie to themselves and insist their king is the One.

I’ll support him, vote for him (as long as he doesn’t have Rubio as his running mate) and hope/pray that the red flags I’ve seen come to nothing and that he wins election and fulfills our conservative hopes for him.
Everything Trump talks about is rooted in preserving, defending, and enhancing “We The People”. You nailed it.
We’ve got a cracking foundation and we’re worried about what color it’s going to be painted, whether it’s true blue or some shade of mauve.
Give me the mauve painted foundation any day, if it’s the sound one. We can repaint it later.

I’m a Cruz guy, and have no problem supporting Trump. But you are arrogant suggesting people who don’t share your point of view should be banished somewhere. Stop acting like a jerk. You won. Be gracious about it.

And this is something that the constitution-firsters have often failed to see.
Constitutions don’t stand of themselves. They never will. Let’s get our constitution sitting on a firm foundation again before we get overly exercised about fealty to it.

What is this "firm foundation" the Constitution 'sits on' in your estimation?
I tried to be pretty clear about who I was talking about: it isn't Cruz supporters who should be squelched, it's Cruz supporters who refuse who be civil toward Trump supporters.
Well ouch, it is painful, but empirically that’s how Phyllis sees it and she’s probably right.
She’s been around the block a few times and she isn’t a fool. Cruz has not addressed the “We The People” problem; Trump has. We can honor our constitution right down the drain if we fail to rebuild the national unity that Obama has worked tirelessly to disassemble. Obama was/is the wrecker; Trump the fix-it man.
As far as our practical chokepoint for constitutional issues, Trump has indicated he wants Thomas-like justices on the USSC. (He was KIDDING about his sister and even said so AT THE TIME but those blankety blank soundbite liars misled us, as they so often do.) That’s NOT a bad choice if you want some semblance of stability, if not also restoration. Engaging the consent of “We The People” with that kind of mindset is not a bad thing.
One question to all you youngsters.
In the years since R Reagan. How many times have you been LIED to by your masters, the elites in DC? How many? What? Cant count them?
How many times in this election cycle have you heard candidates get up and spout “I” will promis to do this and “I” promis to do that? How many?
Now, which one has constantly conveyed to us that “WE” can and will do...

1. Obamacare( Cruz’s man Roberts on the Court made Obamacare possible) .
2. Iran is developing nukes (Cruz voted for the corker bill which made that a go).
3.TPP is passing or about to be passed (Cruz wrote an article promoting TPA which can be Googled to fact check). TPP will destroy all factories in the USA and flood the USA with immigrants. China and immigrants a one two punch to destroy America. what do you Cruz supporters LIVE In the USA or what ? you like technology,wealth, factories, freedom, or civilization or do you just want to support what some Harvard lawyers SAYS?
We voted for Cruz and Republicans to stop Obama not give Obama everything Obama wanted as in Iran developing nukes which now Iran is because of the Corker bill which Cruz voted for . Ditto for TPA and obamatrade. Everything Obama wanted he’s gotten .Republicans and Cruz put on a bad cop good cop routine paying lip service to us but never stopping obama nor doing anything pro American as in building a wall .
Only Trump will stop China , TPP, illegals and Iran
The gope , Romney, the media , megan mcain, fiorina all, the world establishment all support Cruz but are against Trump.
