National Review Writer: Working-Class Communities ‘Deserve To Die’
Daily Caller ^ | 03/12/2016 | Scott Greer

Posted on 03/12/2016 10:12:25 AM PST by 20yearsofinternet

National Review’s Kevin Williamson believes Donald Trump’s appeals to the white working class is “immoral” because that demographic’s way of life deserves to die out.

In a featured article for the prestigious conservative journal entitled “The Father-Fuhrer,” Williamson seeks to rebut criticism that he and other conservatives don’t articulate any policies that would appeal to Trump’s blue collar supporters.

Williamson, a long-time critic of The Donald, essentially agrees that he doesn’t support any policies or rhetoric directly tailored to the working-class — particularly about jobs being taken by outsourcing and immigration — because it would be wrong to do so.

“It is immoral because it perpetuates a lie: that the white working class that finds itself attracted to Trump has been victimized by outside forces,” the NR roving correspondent writes. “[N]obody did this to them. They failed themselves.”

He then goes on to state that all the ills associated with downscale whites are a result of that class’s inherent depravity.

The National Review has gone elitist Democrat and deserves to die. William F Buckley would be spinning in his grave.

It is the direction that factions go when they have nothing to offer. To the radical left.

They are Godless.
This is Darwinism.
I do just fine. I have a good job that pays me well, but I watch what is happening to my former classmates who thought they had a livelihood into middle age and people are just tossing them to the side of the road because they have lost their usefulness.

NO! We are better than that. I absolutely would pay more for well made American products. We don’t throw people away like the left throws away aborted babies because they are not “useful”.

that class’s inherent depravity

Let Americans have Jesus back in their schools and the depravity disappears.

They should all retrain to be IT workers. We need hundreds of millions of IT workers. If you are not an IT worker it is your own fault and you are a useless burden to society .... that’s the usual line from the elites.

Williams does have a certain point.

All these Liberals who have been elected to office over the decades couldn't have been without the votes of white, middle-class "workers".

Promises of welfare, unemployment, disability, Socialist Security, Medicare, etc., could not have been fulfilled without the support (unwitting as it may have been) of said people. All of which destroy the virtue of personal responsibility.

And don't even get me started on public schools.

“... but I watch what is happening to my former classmates who thought they had a livelihood into middle age...”

Corporate philosophy these days to to dangle carrots in front of your employees to keep them productive. As soon as they reach 50 their pension benefits start to accrue and they may start needing to use their health insurance for the maladies of advancing age - get rid of them.

Wow! Who does he think makes the houses and fixes his cars, and replaces his roof, and teaches his children. Those jobs are going nowhere and neither are the people who do them. In fact, factories may be going oversees. But its really hard to put a new roof on a house from China. And there is nothing about a Harvard education that helps you shingle a roof or fix pot holes.

The reality is that middle class is most people. America depends on the middle class. And frankly our middle class is really good at adapting to change. And figuring out how to buy a house, and raise children. And they know when they are being lied to. Trump is not the guy who is lying to them. Ask Carl Rove how many times he thinks about the middle class, accept when he is thinking about how to manipulate them.

My God, what is wrong with people nowadays? I’ve never seen such vitriolic language and behavior, especially against the backbone of America: the white population that actually works and invents things, minds their own business, educates their children, goes to church and believe in The Almighty.

Never, NEVER in my life would I see such hateful language. Yet Trump and his supporters are the “haters”

Does Kevin Williamson’s way of life deserve to die out?

Do non-white working class ways of life deserve to die out?

Does he believe everyone should live the inner city non-working life style?

And then the IT jobs go to H-1Bs. Something the "free traders" don't take into account is what happens when more than 50% of the voters are having to play musical chairs scrambling to find jobs that aren't being offshored and outsourced as fast as people can retrain for them.

they've been unmasked and they're in a corner so they've got nothing left except to show themselves fully and go for broke.
