Cruz is scary, Trump is dangerous [barf]
LA Slimes ^ | 3/13/16 | Doyle McManus

Posted on 03/13/2016 8:44:00 AM PDT by markomalley

The two leading candidates for the Republican presidential nomination held a spirited debate over foreign policy last week, and the differences were striking.

Donald Trump would cozy up to Russian President Vladimir Putin, whom he's praised as “a strong leader;” Texas Sen. Ted Cruz would escalate our new Cold War with Russia. Trump wants to renegotiate President Obama's nuclear deal with Iran; Cruz promises to “rip [the agreement] to shreds on day one.” Trump says he'd try to broker a peace agreement between Israel and the Palestinians; Cruz says he's not interested in talks and would back Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to the hilt.

See the pattern? Trump wants to make deals, and doesn't much mind who's across the table — Russian autocrat or Iranian mullah. Cruz doesn't want to negotiate, he wants to pick sides.

Those are the differences. But there are similarities too.

When it comes to Islamic State, Trump and Cruz are on the same page — and neither has much of a strategy to offer. They have both suggested that intensified U.S. bombing can win the war. (It can't.)

Nice to see the mainstream melt down...

But The Donald should blast this piece for daring to compare Cruz to him.

Clinton and Sanders are both insane. So what’s the point. History books will show that 2016 was the year America went back to doing “acid”.

TRUMP’S AUTO FIRE…

---"Donald does well with voters who have relatively low information, who are not that engaged and who are angry and they see him as an angry voice".
---‘Trump Democrats’
---Trump voters aren’t dumb, disengaged, or “low information.” Seems to me they have all the information they need. (Quote from LS!)

What I LIKE about Trump? He’s open minded, but not to where his brains fall out.

Trump gives his thoughts based on what he knows about a topic at that moment. When Trump gains more information, he will adjust his thoughts based on that new information. That’s what open minded should be. He learns, he adjusts. We can all take a lesson from that.

Trump has stated that he is PRO ISRAEL, but that he’s open enough to listen to the other side. He doesn’t want to turn off the dialogue. If he thinks the other side is full of it, I can see him shutting that dialogue off in a heart beat! But as of now, he doesn’t want to put of the other side by making them feel like what they have to say will fall on deaf ears. There’s a vid out there where you can hear him discuss this.

Now, I personally share Cruz’s opinion on this issue. I’ve been watching this stuff with Israel and the middle east go on since I was a pup. And, I have a history book which discusses this issue with absolute truth. However, if either candidate is going to be involved with world events, he has got to present himself as fair and balanced. Nobody wants to think that what they think and feel is worthless, especially when the individual one needs to appeal to, is the man most likely to be able to affect the changes you think are needed. You at least want to know that he is willing to consider your pov.

Cruz is NOT willing to consider any pov but his own. THAT is a problem. He’s not willing to learn and adjust, because he’s already made up his mind. How can he influence the Palestinians that they need to make some changes, if he’s not willing to hear them? He’s already made up his mind, they are locked out.

It just so happens that I totally agree that Israel is being given the poop end of the stick, and I wouldn’t shed a tear if the middle east became a beautiful sheet of glass with the garden of Israel in the center...like a Throne of Jewels. That’s my personal pov, but the world rarely works the way *I* think it should.

I happen to agree with God on the issue...Israel is HIS land and man has no right to divide it (Joel3)

However, the approach to it does matter. And I agree that a position of strength is the position which garners the most results. Reagan knew it as well, and Trump seems to be wanting to emulate Reagan on that issue.

I was raised up during the cold war when the hatred of the US was so deep against Russia, that Russians weren’t even human, nor did they even deserve a drop of water from a dirty toilet full..that was the sentiment. It was vile looking back on it. But Russia had done us no real harm.

Contrast that to what Islam is doing world wide, and there’s reason to want to put up a wall against a flood. We’ve already been victim to their treachery. For me, that translates into zero trust for anything they say or do. Snakes do tend to lay low when they are cold, and wait for the right time to strike. That’s the nature and physiology of a snake.

And crus just doesn’t pass the smell test for honesty. I’ve seen him vigorously encourage and participate in false witness in order to profit himself. That’s all it took for me to turn my nose up.
