The opposite is true, but you can be sure that would be the headline had conservative opponents of Sanders prevented his rally in suburban Chicago from taking place because of mob threats of violence. This makes Ted Cruz ‘s spineless rejoinder to the violent demonstrations in Chicago so galling to me.

Trump gets blamed for violence at his rallies, and will be blamed for violence at his opponents rallies. Really? What’s wrong with this picture? Even though I continue to support Cruz, it certainly appears that the GOP and MSM may be driving thinking people into the Trump camp.

More than that--it is a certainty that Obama would be bloviating about the situation on TV, and that the National Guard and local SWAT teams would be called out to protect future Dem rallies from the Drumpf Brown Shirts.
With all due respect, many people, including many people here on FR did not read Cruz’ statement as “backing” the leftist thugs by any stretch of the imagination. He did call out Trump on his own undisputed calls for violence, even if made in jest.
And while what Cruz said was without question true, it was not politically smart. He should have come out with both barrels at the Move On/ Bernie Sanders brownshirts, and then just waited for the inevitable next opportunity to point out Trump’s own shortcomings in the coming days.
But that’s all water under the bridge. At this point, Trump looks like the nominee. Now it’s time to figure out how to work together to beat Hillary and the other socialists in November.

What Cruz said was completely true, in no way endorsed or sided with the Bernie Brownshirts, and was terrible timing.

Innocent people were in still in the process of being physically attacked and disrupted and Cruz et al, went to the microphones and immediately started blaming it on Trump. Did ya think this is some secret?
