He is not beholden to Conservatism either.
Thanks.
IOn Thursday night, Conservative Review Editor-in-Chief Mark Levin took on the rising tide of populist nationalism with a history lesson.
Populism, Levin explained, is really just progressivism. The populist movement in America was the forerunner of the progressive movement, and both populism and progressivism share the same disdain for constitutionalism that conservatives reject.

Those who fail to study history are doomed to repeat it. Conservatives must reject populism and return our focus to constitutional limited government. Populism embraces big government statism, Levin said.
Constitutional conservatism embraces liberty.
And that is the contrast between Donald Trumps populism and Ted Cruzs conservatism.

I’ve never called you a name but I’ve witnessed your vile comments and name calling of anyone who sites a Cruz fact.
Your devotion to Cruz is on par with those who are fighting for Trump. It is what it is. I’d be more than happy to give you a break down of how many vile names are tossed at Trump supporters vs the opposite. It’s not even close.
May have been told....
Cruz’s mom was going through the process of becoming a Canadian citizen when he was born. heck, she had lived for years in England before that. Seems Cruz’s mom had no interest in the USA for more than 10 years before he was born. She had all but relinquished her citizenship to the UK.
I think it’s been overrun by trolls! You put something up that someone disagrees with, you get attacked. It use to be, someone would read a post and comment, whether agreeing or disagreeing...I don’t know????
Eleanor was never a citizen of Canada, and she could not have been under the facts or the law. In short, she did not live in Canada long enough to be a Canadian citizen by the time Cruz was born in 1970: Canadian law required 5 years of permanent residence, and she moved to Canada in December 1967only 3 years before Senator Cruzs birth.
Trump will need to deal with the Democrats and that’s not a bad thing..
And to think it wasn’t that long ago that GOP politicians who bragged about working and making deals with Democrats were ridiculed here....lol

Levin is right. Populism is largely misunderstood. But, from its birth in the late 1800s, Populism may be accurately characterized as "the last refuge of 'the little man' who has given up, demanding that government protect him from the predations of the financiers". As a consequence, it usually involves a "man on horseback" -- initially William Jennings Bryant -- willing to run a dictatorial executive at the head of a powerful and oppressive government.
So, yes, Populism is nothing less than Progressivism in disguise. And it is a very dangerous ism...
I said she was working on her Canadian citizenship, not to mention she had lived in London for many year prior to that.
Facts, son. Get over it. Cruz’s parents had no interest in being US citizens when he was born. A fact furthered in that they didn’t file for his US citizenship until many years later.
It is a fact that Cruz calms to be a constitutional scholar yet then claims he never knew he had a Canadian citizenship. That is a direct lie. No way in Hell he didn’t know.
Only Canadian citizens were (and are) able to vote in federal elections. The lists were compiled through a door-to-door process of enumeration by registrars, and were publicized partly so that mistakes could be corrected.
According to Elections Canadathe independent, non-partisan agency that runs Canadian electionsvoters were sent a copy of the list showing the name, address and occupation of all voters in the relevant poll.
Mistakes were frequent (i.e. Raphael instead of Rafael), and voters were given the opportunity to fix errors.
Ezra Levant, a Canadian conservative journalist who was born and raised in Calgary, recalled the process of enumeration.
It was like a census they were very quick and non-obtrusive visits, someone standing in your doorstep, he told Breitbart News via e-mail. They certainly didnt ask for ID.
It is not surprising to me that there may be a spelling error in someones name. A name appearing on the list would not necessarily indicate that they were a citizen, or that they themselves had even spoken to the enumeratorsomeone else in the household may have spoken for them, Levant added.
She was in Canada on a work permit and never became a permanent resident, let alone a citizen, said Jason Johnson, chief strategist for the Cruz campaign.
She never registered to vote and never applied for Canadian citizenship.
LOL, best reply in this cluster-youknowwhat-vanity!
The simplicity of what is at stake is so simple a freakin 3 year old should be able to recognize it. But alas, there are those who prefer to roll around in the mud, clueless to what is happening outside the pen.
And that's a lie.
Facts, son.
Your "facts" are weak as I'm not your "son" but a 65 year old Grandmother.
So tell me when Trump's Mother became a citizen since she was born on the Isle of Lewis, Scotland.
No. It's not. And you'd know that if you did ANY honest research.
This isnt a freakin game, the future of this country is at stake and the people who oppose Trump and what he stands for have very legitimate concerns.
If those of us who are opposed to Trump turn out to be right about him should he win, the end results will be disastrous not just for conservatism but the country.
People won’t then run to a real conservative. They’ll elect another left wing Democrat
