Greta Van Susteren and her “On the Record” panel discussed the battery charges against Campaign Manager Corey Lewandowski today by a Florida court.
Greta started the segment by playing Donald Trump’s presser with reporters today on the Michelle Fields hoax. Trump told reporters,
“ “I’m not going to let a person’s life be destroyed over somebody that we have on tape. And you just take a look at what people are saying when they see that incident on tape. And no jury, in my opinion, no jury would convict a man and destroy a man over what you had here.”
Tonight former homicide detective Ted Williams and former prosecutor Katie Phang joined Greta to discuss the case.
Greta and her guests all agreed there is no way they can win this case in court and the only reason Corey was charged was because he is associated with Donald Trump. Greta said,
“In my wildest dreams I don’t see how a jury ever convicts on this with all the ambiguity. In fact, it looks like two Secret Service who were protecting Donald Trump are reaching for her. I don’t know whether or not that is what is provoking the bruises or not. That’s the problem. Here’s your reasonable doubt right there.”

Levin and Beck rant continuously against Trump for 3 hours each a day plus all the others, Meghan etc against Trump day after day after day. Greta cones on for a few minutes and defends Trump and you act like she’s defending hitler, gets old.
There is one photo where Trump is clearly looking at her hand ..probably wondering what was in it.
He has to worry about people trying to kill him.

Actually today it is about the Law. How it gets enforced....even handed or biased.
The Charge is Battery. The Police and the Prosecutor filed the charges.
Later it may well be a civil issue. Given that both Corey and Trump publicly lied in an attempt to Smear the reporter. The Turmoil cost her a job. Loss of wages....she can attempt to show how their lies cost her money. In other words sue them for damages.
How do Corey deny a tweet in which he calls her delusional and never close to him?

That’s exactly what it sounds like and looks like. The video certainly doesn’t support the girls hyperbole about what happened.

You need to read up on her past, she is prone to heavily exaggerating “things”. Your disdain for Trump however seems to cloud your judgement. She was not yanked back 3 feet or assaulted. If she was assaulted in that video, just take a look around at the rest in that crowd, closely. There are assaults happening left and right by your standards.
Arrest and charge ALL those people! I see “touching” going on all over the place in this video.
She made a civil complaint, and the police acted on it, so the costs of any trial are borne by the public (for the prosecutor) and the accused. “Retaliatory” charges are free for the accuser.
I just watched Savannah Gutherie and Matt Lauer smilingly take down Trump (they presumed) by reminding Trump that Lewandowski LIED when he initially said that he did not even touch the woman. They had Trump; they were going to nail him to the wall. DOESN’T the video PROVE that Lewandowski lied, Mr Trump? He does touch her. Would you, Mr. Trump, countenance a top aide lying to the American people if you were president?
The video does prove he touched her, but it also proves he did not assault her.
Trump and his lawyer pointed out the obvious, that the incident happened so briefly that Lewandowski would not even remember it.
I’m sure that Lewandowski was initially responding to the assault charge Fields released to the press, and, in keeping with most people’s understanding of an assault, that means he had focused on the victim and intentionally sought her out and beat her down to the floor.
The video shows that it was definitely not an assault, but some form of a “brush”; either a brush off or a brush away. Lewandowski does not even look at the woman; his eyes are on her hands.
I noticed that when I was in a crowd around Reagan once; the SS was looking at arms and hands in the crowd most of the time.
Laurer wondered if an early apology from Lewandowski would have defused the situation, nipped it in the bud. But based upon Fields immediate distortion of the event, an apology from Lewandowski would have only ratified her distortions to the world.
They also interviewed Shapiro afterwards. He came across as a pouty, pissy nerd. There was not a scintilla of objectivity in his whole mental make-up.
In a perfect world that is how it works. If she does not have her own attorney she will be crushed and will lose.
The crazy train that is Glenn Beck has left the station again this morning.
Beck is EMPHATICALLY STATING Trump didn’t “release the film” ITS A SECURITY tape.
Yes. A security tape, from a security system located in a building that Trump I fact OWNS. So Trump OWNS the tape and he released it. Didn’t request a search warrant...just RELEASED it because it backs up Lewandowskis claim and makes Fields look like a liar.
But Beck leaves that part out.
Glenn (and his studio stooges Pat and Stu) are pathological in their Trump hate.
(I quit listening a while back. But came back this week. Kinda heavy lifting to recognize what a fool I was to ever listen in for all those years.)
From a legal perspective - what is your assessment?
Do you take it to trial if you are Corey or do you sweep it under the rug and get out as quietly as you can?
I think Trump will want it to go to trial. He can’t surrender to this ridiculous attempt by Fields.
Assault is not charged. Battery is charged. And clearly it occurred.
Oh, ME-shell was doing a job alright... This was a press conference and it was over. Trump was leaving.. Fields made her move and got in the flow of leaving and she made first contact with Trump... Maybe she can get a job for the 'national enquirer'...
