IS THE CRUZ CAMPAIGN MORAL?
WND ^ | 4/4/2016 | David Kupelian

Posted on 04/04/2016 8:10:36 PM PDT by BlackFemaleArmyColonel

Here’s a simple question that desperately needs an answer.

Donald Trump won the Arizona primary in a landslide, 47.1 percent to Ted Cruz’s 24.9 percent, giving the GOP front-runner all 58 of that winner-take-all state’s delegates.

Right now, the Cruz campaign is engaged in a “furious” on-the-ground campaign in Arizona – and in other states won by Trump, including Louisiana, Georgia and Tennessee – to convert Trump delegates into Cruz delegates on a second ballot, should there be a contested GOP convention this summer.

The question is: Is this moral?

Trump calls it “crooked as hell.” But let’s back up a little.

As the Washington Examiner reported Monday, in a story headlined “Cruz snaring Trump’s Arizona delegates” and posted in the lead position of the Drudge Report:

Sen. Ted Cruz is out-hustling Donald Trump and looks set to ensure many Arizona delegates will defect to him in a convention floor fight.

The Texas senator, who ever since Iowa has played a stealthy ground game in contrast to Trump’s chaotic populism, is taking steps to snatch the Republican presidential nomination from The Donald at the convention in July.

The New York businessman easily won last month’s Arizona primary taking 47 percent to Cruz’s 25 percent, scooping up all 58 of the state’s delegates. That’s nearly 5 percent of the 1,237 Trump needs for the nomination, and they’re tied to him on the first ballot.

But Cruz, exploiting deep opposition to Trump among grass-roots Republicans, has been far more active in Arizona than Trump, insiders say. He’s recruiting candidates for the available 55 delegate slots, that along with the other three delegate positions filled by party leaders, would be allowed to vote for him in a multi-ballot contested convention.

Was it “moral” for Trump to buy favors from politicians....like Hillary? Schumer? Reid? etc.? Or is that “just the way business gets done”?

Trump did not create the system. Trump does not hide what was required to create a 'successful' business. It is a double standard to hold Trump accountable for a system that the gods and goddess of government established.

...”Regardless of whom you support for the GOP presidential nomination, ask yourself whether what Trump is doing is moral or “sleazy”? There doesn’t seem to be any question that it’s legal.

There we go again with the double speak. Trump is self funding his campaign, thus he can speak freely about government buying and selling positions of power.

No. It is not moral. But Trump is supposed to be a “moral, Bible believing Christian Conservative” with great, big beautiful, NY values (or so he says). How can Trump supporters cheer sleazy moves like this???

Wow, when one resorts to distortion they have NO room to point fingers of accusation. Talk about lacking morals... Distortion is a form of bearing false witness...

Fun, huh?

Curz sure has exposed the double minded.

Pointing out your double standard, that’s all. What Trump did and does to favor his business dealings with politicians is legal.

By the same token, Cruz did not create the delegate system, he’s just being smarter about it. The ‘gods and goddesses of government’ did. He is not hiding what is required to create a ‘successful campaign’. Those are ‘just my thoughts’.

“... their attachment to the GOP is fickle. It’s based on the person, not the policy or principle.”

And I bet you believe that! AS IF the GOP has been steadfast on behalf of those who’ve faithfully voted for its candidates of many stripes for decades. Why they are now doing everything in their power to knock out the guy their ‘base’ seems to prefer because he’s not “one of them.” AND, oy, will he rock the boat! Can’t have that.

It really has little to do with personality, but with how the political elites truly do believe they know what’s best for everyone else (while feeding at the trough) and only need the hoi poloi at election time. Conservatives are treated by the GOP the way blacks are by the Dems. And we’ve had quite enough.

1. Cruz hasn't sued - for a Supreme court lawyer who brags how good he is - very odd

2. Cruz's email showed up in the Ashley Madison hack last year but was overshadowed by Josh Dugger

3. Washington Post Columnist said he could confirm 2 of the women.

4. Robert Morrow is on vid saying a prominent Texas republican who runs on Christian values was running hookers up to the Omni Hotel late at night (Same hotel Cruz recently held a fundraiser)

5. Amanda Carpenter (alleged mistress) deleted several tweets about Cruz - calling him cute - they got matching fake tattoos the same day and she's seen wearing his jacket - she also deleted a pic which is still on her instagram that shows her sitting seductively on a bed with no wedding ring on and condoms beside her in a hotel in DC.

6. National Enquirer has broken several scandals - when it comes to celebs they have a very good track record, and always let the info drip drip out - John Edwards, Tiger Woods, Charlie Sheen, Gary Hart, Jessie Jackson etc.

7. Why was Cruz's wife found suicidal on the side of a road by the police in Texas around the time period this all took place?

8. Rumors have been circulating for a long time and it was originally referred to as #TheThing which you can find tweets dating back a long time ago - not by Trump

9. DC Madam Black Book was said to have a sitting senator on the list - lawyer now says it's relevant to the 2016 election - - you honestly think its Bernie Sanders??

10. How many people have we seen run on family values and they end up being the ones with very lil values? Cruz comes off as a cars salesman and people who know him claim he's not that religious when he's not on the campaign trail - his tax returns show he gave less than 1% to charity. College roomates say he's a nasty guy.

I personally could care less if he slept with a hooker, except for the fact he runs on a holier than tho platform. I think what's far worse is his Bush ties - Ted & Heidi brag about being the first Bush marriage. Heidi works for Goldman Sachs - wrote North American Trade papers & worked with the CFR (All American Nightmares) - Cruz worked for George W. Hired Convicted Criminal Neil Bush - Hired Jebs Finance team - Met with Jeb privately - got Jebs endorsement. A vote for Cruz is a vote for Bush & a continuation of his policies. Why this scandal might matter is they can blackmail him and get him to do whatever they want. Which is how politics work in DC. This scandal isn't going away - the NE is gonna keep dripping info until it's all out. People like Roger Stone say theres a lot more to come - and he's been in this business too long and has a very good history of knowing what's going on.

I do not have the double standard. I support Trump because he is not in this to feather his own nest, nor strip me of my Constitutional rights..

By the same token, Cruz did not create the delegate system, he’s just being smarter about it. The ‘gods and goddesses of government’ did. He is not hiding what is required to create a ‘successful campaign’. Those are ‘just my thoughts’.

The devil is also called smart, he steals souls. The theft of 'we the people' right to vote is serpent like. Your own words demonstrate what is acceptable to you.. I would NOT support Trump IF he were to attempt to steal your vote. But thank you for exposing what you consider 'smart'.

Just to follow up my claim with an actual quote from Washington regarding political parties, this is from his farewell address (a copy can be found here):

"However combinations or associations of the above description [political parties] may now and then answer popular ends, they are likely, in the course of time and things, to become potent engines, by which cunning, ambitious, and unprincipled men will be enabled to subvert the power of the people, and to usurp for themselves the reins of government; destroying afterwards the very engines, which have lifted them to unjust dominion."

I certainly agree the Founders did not create parties. Everyone but Madison hated them, but Madison thought they were necessary.

The issue here is not party rules, but whether or not the party is actually a representative of its members. Clearly the GOP is not and is deliberately giving its members the middle finger. It’s one thing if Trump doesn’t come close to 1237 (I call “coming close” anything over 1200). Even 1100 you could argue that the leader should get the nomination-—a recent poll of GOP faithful shows that 51% support this.

But if the party tries to ignore and screw some 10 million voters who have elected rightfully 1237 delegates, there will be absolute hell to pay.

I keep repeating: the worst thing about this is that Cruz cannot win, yet he is the one engaging in the most mischief, leading me to think he is either 100% corrupt, or extremely stupid.

As I was working on my taxes tonight, I thought to myself that this may be the last year I have to do them because Cruz is going to abolish the IRS! When he talks about that and the flat tax, I think he’s just about the most exciting person on the planet. :-)

Don’t get me wrong - I’m not pointing a finger at you, but it seems that statesmanship is a big bore to a number of people nowadays. They just don’t have the patience for it. Active listening does require a certain amount of energy and investment.

There are reasons why George Washington was and has been universally respected and why the left so desperately wishes to disparage him. Thank you for that profound quote.

Thank you, LS, for your perspective and focusing of the issues vis a vis the parties. I appreciate your insight. This discussion has helped so much to clarify my thinking.

Common sense tells me that the IRS will still be there a year from now. Even if Ted could beat Hillary, which he won’t, our government will still be collecting taxes.

Yeah, good thing you’re listening. Just try using a little common sense on occasion.

I assume you have been around long to enough to have concluded that there are a lot of people who shouldn’t vote, and shouldn’t be allowed to vote.

I’d be OK with returning to the concept that only land-owners be allowed to vote, or with limiting the voting in federal elections to only those who actually pay federal income tax (skin in the game). At a minimum, there should be a Civics test so that only those who understand and embrace certain principles would be allowed to vote (like it is not OK for the majority to vote away the possessions and rights of a targeted group).

Anyone who passed the Civics test would understand that Trump’s call for government run universal healthcare with mandated participation should be a disqualifier, since it would take from some to give to others, a violation of equal protection under the law.

“Q: If Obamacare is repealed & there’s no mandate for everybody to have insurance, why would insurance companies insure somebody who has a pre-existing condition?

TRUMP: Well, I like the mandate. I don’t want people dying on the streets. The Republican people, they don’t want people dying on the streets, but sometimes they’ll say “Donald Trump wants single payer.”

In the next two weeks Cruz is going to be out in the cold.

And he didn't win a single primary a couple of weeks ago.

WI is a bump in the road for the Trump express.

You didn’t listen to Cruz at the last debate. He said that there will be an office to receive taxes, but it won’t be the IRS. The IRS - which collects taxes, and is also used as a means of retribution against conservatives, and is scheduled to be an enforcer of Obamacare - will be ended by President Cruz.

BTW, I’m in constant touch with my common sense (constitutional conservatives generally are), but thanks for the hot tip anyway. :-)
