Veterans' charities reportedly receive fraction of money raised by Trump event
Foxnews ^ | 4/8/16

More than two months after Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump claimed to have raised $6 million for veterans' charities at a fundraiser held on the eve of the Iowa caucuses, most of the organizations targeted to receive the money have gotten less than half of that amount.

The Wall Street Journal, citing a survey of the 22 groups listed by Trump's campaign as prospective recipients for the money, reported that 19 organizations had obtained a total of $2.4 million from Trump's foundation or associates.

Of the three other charities, one declined to disclose how much it had received, another said it needed to submit more paperwork before receiving any money, and the third didn't respond to questions by the Journal.

Fox Business Network first reported in late February that only a fraction of the pledged donations had made their way to the veterans groups.

At the time, FBN reported, several groups said they had not received any money. And seven of the 22 told Fox Business Network they had received a total of $650,000. Other groups did not respond to inquiries at the time.

Trump held the Jan. 29 benefit in lieu of attending a GOP debate hosted by Fox News. The real estate mogul had declined to appear at the debate, claiming that he had not been treated fairly by the network.

Cruz didn’t need to hide behind veterans to run from a debate, nor did he want to hide from the debate. Trump did. It was shameful, and FReepers would not have defended any other candidate doing the same. Trump could have held his “fundraiser” at any other time, but he was just doing it to hide from the debate.

I made no allegations of fraud on his part, I simply asked the question.

A question to which you provide no real answer allowing the reader to speculate the worst.

As old as...Hath God said?

40% is a “fraction”? 19 of 22 groups funded is a “fraction”? Do the GOPe CruzBots at the WSJ know how hard it is to foundations to turn pledges into actual cash and then distribute it? I have worked with charities and sometimes it can take 6 months or more. Trump has done an admirable job so far. It is disgusting to see him smeared like this. Meanwhile rich Ted Cruz and his Wall St. wife gave less than 1% to charity. But he is SUCH a “devout Christian”...riiiight?

The reported numbers beg the question, what happened to the rest of the money?

Donald Trump's highly questionable dealings in which he has been repeatedly accused of fraud, beg for an accounting at minimum .

So are they just supposed to throw it up in the air and whoever scoops up the most wins?

So most refuse to answer the question, a few need to finish paperwork so they don’t count in the totals. Screw Fox News and their lies. Fox News is in bed with Ted Cruz and has been for months.

Trumps not hiding from anyone. Hiding behind Carlys skirt on the other hand, shows me that Cruz isn’t fit to lead anything. Thats shameful. He’s a young guy, time to work on his chops for next time. Pro-tip: Stop talking about Donald Trump, and lay out your own policy postions, and stop drafting behind Trump. Deep down, you know I’m right.

In light of Donald Trump's record in which he has been accused of fraud by his students of Trump University

Uhuh.

“Talk to My Mortgage Professionals now!”

“I think it’s a great time to start a mortgage company,”  Trump told a CNBC interviewer in April 2006, adding that “the real estate market is going to be very strong for a long time to come.”

who knows more about financing than me

No, you’re wrong. Cruz has never hidden from a debate. Trump has, and he still refuses to debate Ted Cruz one on one. What a coward.

Cruz hid in the first few debates and wouldn’t debate Trump.

Let's see, you imply:

The story is not about the missing money.

The story is not about the series of allegations over the years of fraud lodged against Donald Trump.

The story is not about the hush money Donald Trump paid yesterday to buy the silence of those who sued him for fraud.

The story is not about the need for an accounting by Trump.

No, the story is all about me.

Whats the upside for Trump to “debate” Cruz? There isn’t. So why do it? Coward maybe. I couldn’t care less.Teddy would prattle on about Trump the whole time. 12 debates is enough. Gotta move on. Mark Levin has. So should you.

If the premise is to fund veterans’ organizations, you’d expect the fundraiser to have done the legwork to identify the recipients first.

Trump University was flipping houses 101. Hard to blame Trump for the crash in home prices, but you will, cuz you are looking for something to blame him for. Gotta move on. Hillary is the enemy. Not me.
