Donald Trump Could Be Headed For A Catastrophic General Election Defeat by Jack Mirkinson

April 3, 2016 T Donald Trump could be headed towards a catastrophic general election defeat if he becomes the Republican presidential nominee, according to a host of recent polling and analysis.

There were gasps on Friday when the University of Virginia’s Larry Sabato posted new projections showing that Trump could lose the Electoral College vote to Hillary Clinton 347-191.

Sabato is not alone in forecasting such a wipeout. Trump is trailing both Clinton and Bernie Sanders by double digits in some national polls.

I especially hate those phone calls that say their Windows mainframe is being infected by my computer and they need to get into my computer for a fix.

Here's how Lenny handles that. Lenny is not a person. Lenny is a computer program pretending to be a person. Lenny is designed to give vague, yet believable, answers to telephone scammers.

But he can only win one state in the primary -- so far.

Go figure.

While Trump has around 69% negatives, according to some, he only drew a group of about 23,000 today at his rally.

Stop hyperventilating... http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3419134/posts

From the FR thread to which you linked re: the comparison to RR's reported 30% positive, 70% negative rating in 1980 vis a vis Trump in April, 2016:

"Seven in 10 people, including close to half of Republican voters, have an unfavorable view of Donald Trump. "Six in 10 people have an unfavorable view of Ted Cruz even though the liberal media has not started its campaign of destruction against the Texas senator."

I read his quote to say that Cruz has less negative ground to make up than does Trump.

Do your read this the same way?

Here is the big worry, or at least should be for Christians. Showing the video of Cruz being introduced by someone in a KKK hood. Oh, I’m sorry, it was not a hood, just a lunatic shouting about killing all the gays while waving around a bible.

Carter was up on Reagan by 30 points and big leads were consistent up to the end.

Add the total votes for everyone, but Trump and the total Trump vote and then get back to me.

The trumpers refuse to believe that Trump would be trounced in the general.

Let’s hope he doesn’t get there.

I merely pointed out that it was a worry. It was not an ad hominem attack on Trump. It was just a worry about statistical data that has been similar for months now. That’s it.

This is a big worry, because many, many polls have been showing this kind of data for months. It’s one thing when it’s a single poll here and there, but when it’s a large amount of polls that show these similar kinds of results, it’s a huge concern

The 2016 presidency and the future direction of the Supreme Court is lying in the middle of the road like a shiny unattached gold piece. All the Republicans had to do was bend over, and pick it up [back Trump for the nomination].

I think I've got the Republican Party's drift now.

Every four years, we get told to hold our nose, and vote for the Republican nominee. This year, the party hacks told us they weren't going to hold their noses for no conservative taxpeasants.

No, their little drunken orgy in Washington is much too important to allow it to be jeopardized by the likes of Trump...

I have not seen one article this election cycle that says 10s of thousands are changing their registration to vote for Cruz.

I have not seen one article this election cycle that says 10s of thousands are changing their registration to vote for Kasich.

I have not seen one article this election cycle that says 10s of thousands are changing their registration to vote for Clinton.

I have not seen one article this election cycle that says 10s of thousands are changing their registration to vote for Sanders.

I HAVE seen SEVERAL articles in different states this election cycle that says 10s of thousands are changing their registration to vote for Trump.

“You are citing the map that adds in 2012 results.”

I don’t think any of these mean much right now

States not polled are shown in gray are higher for the Trump map

They also make this statement:

“This far out, polling in most states is limited (or outdated) and may not hold much predictive value.”

Trump, Cruz or any GOPe compromise candidate is going to be slaughtered in November. All the GOP choices are just horrific. Trump and Cruz are twoblying frauds and any GOPe establishment choice will be 0bama lite. There is nothing to vote for in 2016. I say let Hillary get elected and let history show a the collapse of the nation occured under a radical feminst lesbian Democrat.

Ha so true. The whole anti Trump movement is being run by the corrupt GOP that’s gotten rich of our votes. Now a man’s come along to drain the swamp and they’re pulling very trick to stop him.

I agree...polls don’t mean as much as they once did.

But ... when a poll is favorable to Trump, you’re all over it.

Cruz is a patsy. That's why the Democrats crossed over in Wisconsin on Tuesday to make sure he stayed in the race.

If Trump was such a pushover, the Wisconsin Democrats would have voted for TRUMP.

They voted for Cruz. :)

Go Trump! :-D
