YOU WON’T BELIEVE THIS! CRUZ SUPPORTERS ATTEMPT COUP AT EAGLE FORUM!

Conservative icon Phyllis Schlafly has been a national leader of the conservative movement since the publication of her best-selling 1964 book, A Choice Not An Echo. She has been a leader of the pro-family movement since 1972 when she led the fight to defeat the Equal Rights Amendment.

Phyllis Schlafly is 91 years-old.

On March 11, 2016 conservative icon Phyllis Schlafly endorsed Donald Trump for President at his St. Louis rally.

But not everyone in her organization, Eagle Forum – or her family – agreed with Phyllis Schlafly’s decision.

Last week Phyllis Schlafly released several board members for disloyalty to the organization. The group was planning to hold rogue board meeting to take over the Eagle Forum.

Today the rogue Cruz supporters attempted a coup.

They held a non-sanctioned meeting and blocked Phyllis Schlafly from their conference call.

This email was sent out Monday afternoon.

St. Louis, Missouri:

“At 2pm today, 6 directors of Eagle Forum met in an improper, unprecedented telephone meeting. I objected to the meeting and at 2:11pm, I was muted from the call. The meeting was invalid under the Bylaws but the attendees purported to pass several motions to wrest control of the organization from me. They are attempting to seize access to our bank accounts, to terminate employees, and to install members of their own Gang of 6 to control the bank accounts and all of Eagle Forum.

“The members of their group are: Eunie Smith of Alabama, Anne Cori of Missouri, Cathie Adams of Texas, Rosina Kovar of Colorado, Shirley Curry of Tennessee, and Carolyn McLarty of Oklahoma.

“This kind of conduct will not stand and I will fight for Eagle Forum and I ask all men and women of good will to join me in this fight.”

This is a developing story—-

That’s horsesh*t. I never said or implied that the family civil war was unrelated to Phyllis’ endorsement of Trump. It obviously is.

It is also clear that Anne believes her 91-year-old mother was manipulated and conned. That you equate a daughter’s concern for her mother with “Cruzer instinct to punish dissidents” is preposterous. If Phyllis were in her seventies, you’d have a point, but she isn’t and you don’t.

My Granny is 100 years old and of sound mind. She makes her own decisions. That doesn’t mean she doesn’t get manipulated and conned by people seeking favor.

Assumes facts not in evidence. Where is the proof that Cruz had knowledge of an imminent Trump endorsement by Phyllis?

Additionally, anyone with a lick of sense would realize that, absent an official statement from Eagle Forum, no such endorsement of Cruz was being given.

Grow up.

Gee, I don’t know. Maybe a huge near endorsement of Trump by Phyllis in Breitbart a week before Cruz’s gaslighting PR?

http://www.breitbart.com/big-government/2016/01/10/phyllis-schlafly-makes-the-case-for-president-trump/

I count “Eagle Forum” 30 TIMES in that Cruz press release. How pathetic of Cruz to try to upstage an icon like Phyllis.

Open your eyes. Ted Cruz is a bought and paid for career politician. Being the corporate lawyer that he is, he’s treating this great country like it’s some chicom tire company that needs defending. Total scorched earth campaign and here we see the “fruits” of it.

How would a "great Christian" have answered those questions?

Trump tried to dodge the question of whether or not he had ever asked God for forgiveness. In the end he basically denied ever doing it. I honestly don't think any Christian would dodge such a question like that, much less a "Great Christian".

You can vote for Trump if you think he will make a "Great President" but if he makes as "Great" a President as he has made himself out to be a "Great Christian," then America is in deep trouble.

As for his sitting at the feet of Norman Vincent Peale I think the gospel that Peale Preached was not the Gospel that Paul Preached.

In the words of the Late Walter Martin, "Paul is appealing, but Peale is appalling."

Well buckle your seat belt. Tomorrow will be interesting as it seems that reports will come out that the coup goes to the highest levels of the Cruz campaign. And apparently they tried to size the bank accounts and were stopped by the banks themselves, which is probably illegal as well.

They can't respect anyone for an honest difference of opinion

Hello, Kettle? You're black. That is all.

-- That article pretty well confirms that this is over Cruz vs. Trump. Some of the other posters pretending it's a "family squabble" unrelated to Cruz. It's clear the Cruzers there have been itching to punish Schlafly. --

I agree that the underlying point of contention is Cruz v. Trump, and obviously that is a direct bone between Phyllis and members of the board of Eagle Forum. Pretending it is unrelated to this difference is risible, but hey, that's common here on FR.

I figure the people who prefer Cruz will color their argument in that direction, and there are a few ways to do that. One is to diminish the importance of the Cruz/Trump difference, but if that reason is gone, then some other reason has to go in place. Generally, the other reason given is either that Schlafley is herself bonkers, or that she is susceptible to dishonest persuasion and Ed whatshisname (or Trump) took advantage of that weakness.

I also figure the board prefers to diminish the validity of Schlafley's endorsement of Trump, and the substitute reasons for the spat (it isn't a Trump/Cruz thing, it's a Phyllis isn't "all there" thing) serve that purpose well.

I take Eagle Forum board remarks with the same mixer I use for NRO pronouncements.

LOL he is moving them to the right, LOL

I am under no illusion that they are all moving but he is definitely to the right of the GOPe and he is trying to pull them in his direction.

Trump, on the other hand, supports Planned Parenthood, Obamacare, abortion, gay marriage, gun control and is to the left of the GOPe.

Hello, Kettle? You're black. That is all.

That's totally false! There have been plenty of posters I have reasonably disagreed with. However, literally none of the Cruzers left on this forum are reasonable anymore.

spouting nonsense

I refer you to section (805 ILCS 105/108.25) of the General Not For Profit Corporation Act of 1986 of Illinois , wherein it is stated:

no special meeting of directors may remove a director under Section 108.35(b) of this Act [further which requires a vote of a majority of the directors then in office] unless written notice of the proposed removal is delivered to all directors at least twenty days prior to such meeting

If, however, the members of the organization are entitled to vote on directors then the above is wholly inapplicable.

He basically said “I love God”

That’s just as fair a take - away from that.

Be basically said that making things right is more important than saying that you asked for forgiveness. Zacheus would agree with him.

Looks like we get whatever takeaway we want to focus on.

Hang on so you think cruz is there to pull tem to the right?

LOL Look cruz is with the establishment once he saw his failing campaign here in the south.
He has only won 4 , just 4 primary states and one of those was his own.

All the other states is where the establishment comes in to help out.
Now he might deny or try to that he is part of the elitist party, but he is.

At some point trump supporters have an ethical obligation...

Conservatives don't want Cruz as their nominee as it was Cruz who spent his entire life diddlin' whores and has most likely had many types of sexually transmitted diseases. This is what's on the mind and worrisome to voters. Cruz will never be able to fend off these allegations of all the diseases he's been infested with. This dark cloud will follow Cruz for the rest of his life. No to Cruz and his whores.

We’re electing a president not a saint..

plus Romney is a Mormon not a Christian, great or not...

Romney had no hesitation in a TV interview in 2008 to announce that the Mormon jesus was coming to the US when he returns...that Jerusalem was in Missouri...

Nobody questioned him about his lack of Christian beliefs or understanding...

Glenn Beck announced that Ted Cruz would be “leading “us” THROUGH the rapture”...there doesn’t seem to be any outcry that Cruz has never denied that blasphemy...

how the game rules have changed this time...

Lyin’ Ted.

Bet this won’t even receive a mention on Fox News, which has now become anti-Trump.

Trump and his organization have repeatedly proven themselves to be quite sleazy, beginning with the Iowa lies.
