Confederate emblem 'anti-American,' judge in flag case says

A federal judge said Tuesday that the Confederate emblem on the Mississippi flag is "anti-American" because it represents those who fought to leave the United States.

But U.S. District Judge Carlton Reeves is not yet saying whether he will fully consider a lawsuit that seeks to eliminate the flag as a state symbol.

Reeves heard more than three hours of arguments about motions in the lawsuit that Carlos Moore, an African-American attorney from Grenada, Mississippi, filed against the state. Moore is asking Reeves to declare the flag an unconstitutional relic of slavery.

This is the same judge that ruled that a Mississippi HS band could not play “How Great Thou Art” during a halftime performance. Moore shopped around until he could get this judge to rule on this case. Reeves is typical of the Bennie Thompson district of Mississippi that is full of professional victim blacks and welfare recipients.

Judge Carlton Reeves was appointed by Barack Obama.

Campaign for Southern Equality v. Bryant

On November 25, 2014, he ruled in the case of Campaign for Southern Equality v. Bryant that Mississippi’s same-sex marriage ban violates the Due Process and Equal Protection Clauses of the Fourteenth Amendment.

You are not a Southerner so your ignorance is excused.
True the South lost but we still glory in the noble lost cause, the patriotic resistance to Northern aggression and Yankee atrocities. Slavery never mattered to the honorable Confederate warrior desperately defending his beloved homeland against the barbaric hordes of blue belly beasts.
We celebrate the years 1861 to 1865 as we do 1775 to 1783.
The Yankees, on the other hand, have no pride no heritage no American soul.
An empty win.

If by whining you mean lamenting that federal unconstitutional aggression trampled states rights, setting the precedent for rulings like Roe V Wade and gay marriage, yes, we will never stop whining.

The plaintiff is entitled to a hearing. By rights, having heard the man out then his ruling should be to dismiss the case on lack of standing or jurisdiction. We'll see what happens.

Confederate here. Been watching the Jackie Robinson
special on PBS. Seems to me what he did rang true; but
when Michelle & Hussein intoned, it rang hollow & stank
up the whole thing. When all is said & done, phony falls
flat.

We whipped the Mexicans, their flag still flies everywhere here.

We whipped the Japs, their flag is still flying and is on clothing designs.

There are other Confederate Battle Flags that no one foams at the mouth as they have not been trained, like Pavlov's dog, to foam at the mouth when they see it.

There are over FORTY different flags that were associated with the Nazis and Japs and we whipped them. No one foams at the mouth except over the Confederate Battle Flag.

Does this modified flag send you into a Pavlovian frenzy?
