Trump Supporters Walk Out of Georgia Delegate Fight After Party Picks Cruz Supporter...
Breitbart ^ | April 16, 2016 | Patrick Howley

Posted on 04/16/2016 5:51:19 PM PDT by bobsunshine

Donald Trump supporters walked out of a delegate election in Georgia Saturday to protest a vote that robbed Trump of all of his slated delegates from a district that he won in the primary.

A Cruz-Rubio alliance at the district convention in Buford, Georgia helped to knock Trump supporters out of the district’s national delegation altogether. Cruz supporters implied that Trump’s people would “embarrass” the district at the convention in Cleveland. Then things got heated.

“This morning, I attended Georgia 7th Congressional District GOP convention as a delegate and a Donald Trump supporter. We were there to elect the 3 delegates and 3 alternates to the national convention,” Ronnie Kurtz told Breitbart News. “Per the primary results, two slots were for Trump, and one was for Rubio. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX)97% Cruz finished third in the primary and had no delegates allotted to him…Nonetheless, the hall was stacked with Cruz delegates.”

On the first ballot, the party voted on a delegate slate that would have taken away one of Trump’s delegates but would have, at least, still given him one representative. That bloc would have given Trump supporter Debbie Dooley one of the slots and a Cruz supporter named Carolyn Fisher another slot, with a Rubio slot going to local party convention chairman BJ Van Gundy. But Cruz supporters voted down that slate.

“Donald Trump supporters walked out...”

If you’re not at the table, you’re on the menu.

Do you realize thay a very small percentage, less than 1% of our population, have the time, money and effort to invest in becoming a delegate? That’s why we have voters to select representatives who follow the will of the voters, regardless of their own beliefs. If the delegate does not follow the will of the voters throughout the emote process, then they are no better than the liberal fascists that you as a conservative claim to fight against.

I am disgusted at our so called conservatives who are so brain washed by their party as to go along with this treachery.

Very clear explanation that, unfortunately, some of the FReepers here will just ignore!

<< These things make the left hate Cruz. >>

It’s not just the left. Plenty on the right (myself included) are not fans of his (father’s) thinking when it comes to identifying traditional families, sexual purity before marriage, and other religious beliefs he’s shared in the past year.

His supporters are fine with being governed by someone who will try to impose his religious beliefs on us all, and make decisions that affect us, according to those beliefs. They brag about it and cite it as a large reason to support him.

You need to ask yourself, why isn't Trump sending more Trump supporters to these votes?

Why are there more Cruz supporters at these votes that are out voting Trump if Trump has more support?

They come from all the districts in the State that make up the States. All the Citizens have a say so in who they send to these votes. Do the Trump supporters not participate and only attend rallies?

Sorry, not true. I have a friend who will be a delegate for my district. Makes less than I do.

My wife and I could have been delegates back in 2000 but we couldn’t find a babysitter for the week. I made $44k at the time and my was a stay at home mom.

It only seems impossible if you never make an effort.

The delegates are elected, not from a select pool of party insiders. These are folks who, unlike you, decided to become involved and run for the delegate spot to go to the convention. They want to go party, have a stake in history, and vote for the candidate they support.

Exactly. You do not win an election by having the biggest rally turnout and this is what the tRump camp thinks and the MSM thinks.

It takes the "ground game" and it takes concerned Citizens who will turn out and get involved. Not ones who will holler and cuss the most like their dear Leader.

I received two emails and a phone call from Cruz volunteers to go to my precinct “election”. Numerous precincts were at the meeting hall 1.5 miles from my house. Each precinct had their own table. Many table were empty. A few tables had more than one family. It was the first time for us. But it won’t be the last now!

Our family was the only one from our precinct. We voted my daughter and I to go to our County Caucus which was about 6 miles away. There, about 200-300 people like me voted on 27 candidates to represent them. 90%+ of the 27 elected delegates are Cruz supporters.

We do not have any automatic GOP people that are sent to the state. But, there were about 3 people that were the County GOP chairmen or similar that were elected. Two folks were people that had been and city or county offices in the past. One local radio talk-show guy. So about 20 of the 27 were just typical folks that are interested in politics.

I imagine that most all of them also got the email and phone call. I read on FR that Trump sent out some late letters. And addressed not to Washington State, but Washington D.C. I’m not sure how well that was documented. Regardless, I did not receive anything from the other candidates.

We will also be having a primary after all of our delegates are elected. The primary might serve Trump well if he does some rallies here and a large media buy.

You are claiming he is going to win those states when he hasn’t shown any strength in most of those States like Ohio and Fl.

Wow the antics and threats of the Trump supporters mirror their Dear Leader.

However, once again the voters had the last words to remove them from the scene.

Way to go Georgia.

Texas is losing a lot of its luster with me

Then stay the hell out. You will not be missed. Texas is big and beautiful and does not need to be damaged by your type.

I warned people that we needed to secure our northern border as well as our southern against your type.

I’m not saying it’s impossible to become a delegate, but realistically, the majority of people who have families, mortgages, kids, and jobs will not go through the effort simply because they voted and rely on their delegate to uphold that vote if their candidate won the state.

I can tell you I’ve heard from several delegates who are still trying to raise money to go to Cleveland. They need $2,000 for the cost of the hotel for 5 days and other fees. That’s a lot of money for most people. Plus that’s 5 days away from work. I know, maybe it’s easier for people like you and me who have PTO, paid time off, saved up and are on salary so it’s not a big deal. But the majority of American’s are not in that well of a position, unfortunately, but that doesn’t mean they shouldn’t be represented fairly.

So the money and time doesn’t just end at becoming a delegate, but going to the convention is even more costly.

This is the "ground game" that Cruz talks about that tRump does not have.

tRump expects it to fall in his lap and is not up to the challenge of this race.

So when he gets delegates "stolen" from him he and his surrogates start screaming foul and that the game is rigged and all along the truth is that they were too lazy to put out the effort to win. OR tRump does not really care to win and it is all just one big mascaraed party.

But never doubt for one minute. Cruz is in it to win and win he will. He wants to bring our Country back to a constitutional republic and he will start it on that path.
