Phyllis Schlafly Releases Video After Attempted Coup by Cruz Supporters: “I’m Still in Charge”
Gateway Pundit ^ | April 19, 2016 | Jim Hoft

Conservative icon Phyllis Schlafly has been a national leader of the conservative movement since the publication of her best-selling 1964 book, A Choice Not An Echo. She has been a leader of the pro-family movement since 1972 when she led the fight to defeat the Equal Rights Amendment. Phyllis Schlafly is 91 years-old.

On March 11, 2016 conservative icon Phyllis Schlafly endorsed Donald Trump for President at his St. Louis rally. But not everyone in her organization, Eagle Forum – or her family – agreed with Phyllis Schlafly’s decision.

Two weeks ago Phyllis Schlafly released several board members for disloyalty to the organization. The group was planning to hold rogue board meeting to take over the Eagle Forum.

Last week the rogue Cruz supporters attempted a coup at Eagle Forum. They held a non-sanctioned meeting and reportedly blocked Phyllis Schlafly from their conference call.

Today Phyllis released a video to the Eagle Forum. She’s still in charge.

“There seems to be a lot of confusion on what is going on in the ranks. I understand it was said that I was there but I only piped into the meeting to say I objected to the validity to what it’s doing. And I don’t. I’m still in charge.”

The Cruz supporters argued that Phyllis is senile and not in charge of Eagle Forum.

“...I only piped into the meeting to say I objected to the validity to what it’s doing. And I don’t.”

I don’t, what?

Is this a misprint, misquote, or other?

I doubt Cruz did this by himself. I think the GOPe was behind it.

Nope. The guy who cancelled the Eagle Forum radio program on his syndication network is a big Cruzer. This has their finger prints all over it.

*said in a whiny nasally voice* If Ted Cruz can’t even defeat a 91 years-old woman how is he going to handle ISIS.

“The Cruz supporters argued that Phyllis is senile and not in charge of Eagle Forum.”

Well when you endorse an unknown candidate , one who only
“says” he’s a republican and has no record or reference
to back it up, over a known conservative with a record that
does back it up, then I can see their concern for her mental
health.

Besides, when the first paragraph is all about convincing
the reader as to how conservative Phyllis Schlafly is
tells me that it may be questionable. Especially when she
endorses Trump over Cruz in a conservative comparison.

I think the bats bonkers.

Not surprising at all. The "ends justify the means" Cruz and his clone army:

1. Donate to talk radio hosts & websites for positive press,

2. Applaud voter-less elections,

3. Shame voters with phony "violations",

4. Lie to the voters about candidate departing the race,

5. Sold his soul to the GOPe to save his fledgling campaign.

“”””

“Is she somebody we are supposed to know and pay attention to? I don’t know who she is nor did I get the memo.”

FR Helpful Hint #4. On occasion a quick web search will save loads of embarassment.

If she is the powerful icon that she claims to be why would I have to do a search to find out who she is?

She’s looking to what she believes is the likely result of the success of each candidate.

Cruz seems at best a crapshoot — I don’t know what other private agendas he has on his plate. Trump is pretty open about his populism, and we have no excuse for being ignorant about where the “average American” is. Right on some things, left on others, but on average to the right of where our perfidious government is, which will be an overall plus. And he’s not afraid to spill applecarts when he believes it is merited.

Phyllis has been famous and well-respected for her views on women and marriage for decades.

“Phyllis McAlpin Stewart Schlafly is a semi-retired American constitutional lawyer, conservative activist, author, and speaker and founder of the Eagle Forum. She is known for her staunch social and political views, her opposition to modern feminism, and her successful campaign against the ratification of the Equal Rights Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. Her 1964 book A Choice, Not an Echo sold more than three million copies as a push-back against liberal Republican leader Nelson Rockefeller and the powerful Eastern Republican Establishment. She co-authored books on national defense and was highly critical of arms-control agreements with the former Soviet Union. Schlafly founded the Eagle Forum in 1972 and the Eagle Forum Education & Legal Defense Fund. She is currently the Eagle Forum board chairman and CEO and maintains a presence on the lecture circuit. Since 1967, she has published a newsletter, The Phyllis Schlafly Report.”

I just did. No wonder I don’t know who she is. She has been around so long she was Abe Lincolns running mate. Where could I go to read some of her stuff? Chiseled into a cave wall somewhere perhaps?
