Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX)said Wednesday morning that a contested Republican convention is certain and that supporters of Donald Trump are ultimately helping Hillary Clinton reach the White House.

During a radio interview for a Philadelphia morning show, Cruz predicted with certainty that the Republican Party is “headed to a contested convention.” He suggests Trump supporters “might as well put a Hillary sticker on your car.”

Ted, it’s time to keep some dignity and get out. Things will only go downhill from here.

<<< 59% of women voted for DJT in NY yesterday. >>>

America ain’t NY. Nationwide, Gallup has Trump at 70% unfavorable with female voters. Put your head in the sand if you choose, but he needs to overcome this negative or it’s President Cankles

“If the War on Women meme was used effectively against a Romney, it’ll be used doubly so against Trump. Trump is aware of all this, BTW. The question is how he deals with it”

That’s the best you can do? Really? Cruz just got shut out completely, with Trump winning nearly every delegate in a very diverse and large state, and that’s all you’ve got?

You know, part of wisdom is knowing when it is time to throw in the towel. Now is that time for Cruz, if we are to have any hope of unifying and defeating Hillary. Cruz is mathematically out of it at this point for the first ballot, and his only hope is an incredibly hostile convention fight that guarantees that WHOEVER wins that fight loses to Hillary. Is that what you really want?

That’s a personal insult to me from Ted Cruz. How does he benefit from that?

It is easy to deal with it. First, by showing how he actually treats women in business, second by showing how the Clinton Foundation pays women less than men, and third by saying words to the effect that “Democrats always say Republicans exploit women, are racist, love pollution, want to push Granny over the cliff, etc. None of that is true and they KNOW it, its just an effective campaign tactic - or at least it WAS, because I’m not going to lie back and take that nonsense from them.”
Yeah, he has a chance. Better than Cruz by my estimation, but I’ll crawl over broken glass to vote for anyone opposed to Hillary.

We all have our theories of what we think will or won’t happen in the general but it’s ultimately up to the voters.

And they are fickle. However, I will admit that if there’s anyone who can and will fight her on her game, it’s Trump. I don’t think we will hear any “ she was a fine SOS. We just disagree on the issues” nonsense from Trump

You must have gotten than quote from somebody else. But yes, donnie has a serious problem with women that I don’t think he will be able to separate from. The list of his idiotic quotes concerning women and his actions are long and he will be pummeled with them. His biggest problem is he has a big mouth and does not know how to curtail it when necessary.

For me, as a Trump supporter who wants a Republican to win in November, today is a day for some to toss in the towel, and for others to extend the hand of friendship. Gloating and continued attacks will NOT lead to a Hillary defeat, they will guarantee her a win. Do you really want that, just to be able to pound your chest because your (our) guy won big last night?

Please keep the bigger picture in mind, not to mention dealing in a decent manner with people that agree with you probably 80% of the time.

“Cruz should try to emulate Nixon. “

He should but he wont. Cruz’s primary motivation is self. Nixon for all his faults cared more about the country.

Yeah, we need to start preparing for this likely result and do averything possible to hold on the Congress. I just don’t see any way that ANY GOP candidate wins this year.

Bitter much, Ted?

Wow, he's sinking fast isn't he? The longer this goes, the more delusional he gets. He's going to be a sobbing pile of goo by June.

Polling: ERIC CANTOR

Polling is flawed to be with and now more so than ever due to few people having land lines and their cell phones are not listed or they change numbers...or keep numbers and move to different states...

Throw in the towel? You must like quitters. Besides, donnie has more than just Cruz to deal with. Kasich has delegates as well as Rubio which all three together can place a drain on future primaries.

It might end up to how many donnie can buy with all his money, planes, golf courses and women he can supply to delegates.

Good line though.

Too bad there aren’t any conservatives running for President this year.

Ah, well.

8 years to go.

Jedi.

And you seem to not get there are two sides competing in the general so yes a primary that shows more then the Base coming out is an objective sign of the path of the general.

You ignore the almost 200 million in negative ads on Trump have an effect to the lo-info - that all the ones from our side will stop in the General. Moreover. What you hate about Trump (based on bad information) is why so many moderates and even democrats who cannot stand Hillary will use to justify voting for Trump. In other words, the BS hyped up alleged liabilities the GOPe has been pushing about Trump become assets in the General

So, right off the bat two fundamental changes occur that will change the General numbers, The Attacks on Trump by our side will stop, and the moderates, blue dogs, new voters and vengeful Bernie supporters will be getting on the Trump Train. Plus Trump has not opened up on Hillary yet and there is a lot of ammo there to work with.

Ted who only drew 22 people to his rally is delusional.
My wife and part of their family lean left. They want Cruz because Cruz is a cake walk.
They see Trump and how he draws crowds of over ten thousand compare to Ted’s 22 and they panick over he going against Hillary. They believe Trump cold very well win.

Cruz would be taking the Bob Dole spot to walk over, plain and simple and that is the truth.

No, Durbin, I’m telling you that sometimes your guy loses in the primary. I understand that, believe me - it has happened literally every time from 1988 to 2012 for me. Yet, I still voted for the Republican every time (well, except for 1992, and I have regretted that ever since, even though my vote didn’t matter).

What I AM asking you, and others like you, to do is to look at the big picture. ONLY a largely unified Republican Party can hope to win in November. Continuing this fight is worse than pointless, it is self-defeating. Whatever our (and that is a collective “our” - not you and me) differences, they absolutely pale in comparison with the differences that we have with ALL Dems. Time to bury the hatchet and fight the common enemy. Cruz is young, he will have other opportunities...but I can’t say the same about our fragile country with another 4 or 8 years under corrupt, Leftist leadership.

Actually Trump gets such large cross overs that Trump doesn’t need strident Cruz followers IMO. As long as Trump is only dealing with Dem PACs and not Republican PACs against him he will still kick ass.

“Add the data metrics the Ted Cruz campaign is using, the volunteer base that is conservatives and Tea Party in make up, and Ted Cruz has the most effective campaign in the known history of the World. No other candidate could win versus Trump and it shows just how good Ted Cruz is that he has effectively won against Donald Trump. “

Yet Cruz is losing. Sometimes things are not meant to be - wisdom says that you deal with it and move on. Fighting an unwinnable, scorched-earth fight to prove a point is not wise, especially against someone who rightly should be an ally - it let’s the real enemy win.
