Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX)said Wednesday morning that a contested Republican convention is certain and that supporters of Donald Trump are ultimately helping Hillary Clinton reach the White House.

During a radio interview for a Philadelphia morning show, Cruz predicted with certainty that the Republican Party is “headed to a contested convention.” He suggests Trump supporters “might as well put a Hillary sticker on your car.”

Expanding the GOP voter base is our only chance of winning this year and Trump’s the only guy in the party that can do it.

He has to get all the GOP base on first which he isn’t doing and may or may never do

Reagan didn’t replace his base with Democrats and independents

I’ll pass on the Hillary! bumper sticker. But Trump has a 70% unfavorable with female voters and God only knows what dirt the Clinton Crime Mafia has on him. He’s been a business/media celebrity for years.

He is done. He knows it and this is the result of knowing that he is done.

When a candidate comes to this point and starts to really infuriate those he would need to support him in a general election, you know that it is comming apart.

He is DONE. HE WILL NOT concede and will destroy everything around him. No different than Gore, or Obama.
Narcisststs do that.

After hearing Cruz’s calls for Kasich to drop out since he has no way to win 1237 delegates, I wonder if Cruz will take his own advice when it becomes impossible for him to achieve that total.

Let’s see: So far, according to Cruz, Trump supporters are “low information,” “not engaged,” “Trumpsters” and might as well have Hillary stickers.

He is the stupidest campaigner I’ve ever seen. I have no doubt the guy is book smart, but he has the Emotional Quotient of a houseplant. A campaign is a sales pitch, a many months-long sales pitch. Have you ever bought anything from a salesman who insulted you once, let alone repeatedly? Me neither.

It would be a shame if a bunch of us low information, un-engaged Trumpsters couldn’t manage to find our polling places in November if this clueless jerk is the nominee.

I want to like Cruz but the smugness of statements like this make it difficult.

Cruz is trying to provoke a response from Trump on twitter or elsewhere, because Cruz does better when he has a handle to hang his Trump bashing on.

As it stands, I’ve noticed that Cruz does little conversation about his positions on issues. Why? Because he stole them all from Trump.

As a patriotic American, I thank you for your intelligent, measured post. I join in your prayer. Cruz needs to reawaken his better nature, and stop the obsession tending towards personal destruction—both his own and Trump’s.

Keep trashing 62% of the republican base, Teddy

And the 750,000 Texans who voted Trump. 3rd Place Teddy really needs to tone down the personal attacks on Trump supporters or it will end very badly for him.

Well, Cruz may be right about that. Unfortunately, you could also say that Cruz supporters might as well put a Hillary sticker on their car.
I think it’s going to be ugly for us either way in November....

Pun intended.

Well, there’s always 2020;)

Add “new york values” to the pile of Cruz screw ups. Freepers told me he was the smartest guy in the room and wrote the constitution!

Agree. I’m voting Trump next week in the PA primary, and will be voting for him in the general.

Even in the unlikely event that I need to write in his name.

So, are we to deduce that you’re point is that Cruz can beat Hillary and Trump can’t, then why have a primary (which actually seems to be Cruz’s point), just anoint him and let him have at it? The guy can’t win the primary...he didn’t win a single county in Ohio, Florida, and New York. Three of his last five victories have been in states that have more cattle or oil wells than people, and the people were not allowed to vote.

“...slimy lawyer ...”

He will sink into obscurity as well! LOL You are right - not trying to be the grammar police here.

Cruz will not be admired if his only reason to stay in the race is to keep Trump from obtaining the delegate number needed. That is just going to look bad and unsportmanslike.

We already have a Harvard lawyer freshman senator in the White House, we don’t need another!
