Shepard Smith: Former NY Senator D’Amato Told Me RNC Will Change Rules to Give Kasich a Shot
Breitbart ^ | Apr 20, 2016 | Aaron Klein

Posted on 04/20/2016 10:32:32 AM PDT by detective

On his Fox News program last night, Shepard Smith revealed a conversation he said he had with former New York Senator Alfonse D’Amato in which D’Amato was quoted as saying that the Republican National Committee will change the rules to give Gov. John Kasich a shot at the nomination.

I don’t understand the reasoning behind this idea that somehow it is a good idea to take the nomination away from the front runner and give it to the guy who came in second or third. Makes no sense to me whatsoever. Donald Trump won fair and square, despite all the chicanery, lies, slander, fraud, and rigging of the delegate rules, not to mention outright stealing of the delegates!

I think that that support for Donald Trump runs far deeper and stronger than the polls or the votes show, because of the endemic cheating that I suspect has taken place since the beginning.

Those who the Gods would destroy, they first make mad. And this, I think, has happened to the RNC. They are indeed quite mad.

And the sooner we the people of the party rise up and replace them, the better the chance we will have of saving our nation and restoring our Republic. But it seems we do not have the sense to unite behind one candidate, the stronger candidate, who also holds great appeal outside the base of the GOP.

If you Cruz people respected the constitution as much as you say you do, we would not be in this mess. Thanks to you, the RNC/establishment is likely to firmly remain in power, riding the gravy train to the end of the line, while we lose our country.

Our forefathers put Article II, I, 5, in place for good reason, and now for the second time, we are learning why!

Change the rules?
Then blame Trump for not knowing the rules

Kasich is a longtime closeted guy who has mandates regularly, from recent reports.
Not that there’s anything wrong with being gay or bi unless he keeps it secret and is blackmailable

But lately his mental stability is questionable, He is an arrogant pos anyway but his irritability and sarcasm to questioners are off the chart.

What’s he gonna do in a debate, grab Hillary’s mic when she taunts him?

Note to the RNC: How many millions of voters have had the chance to see Kasich on stage and in person - and how many liked what they saw? Count the votes.

How the conservatives who think Trump is too liberal gonna like Kasich’s “Maybe I ought to be a democrat” attitude?

Ya think folks of both parties and all races and ethnics are going to line up to vote for an aging affable but angry old white dude who’s losing it, mentally? He only got 46% in his own state of Ohio.

Why not just go for the female version of white liberal, old, affable but angry, confused and irritable

The sides seem irreconcilable this time.

The nastiness on both sides has pretty much driven me away from politics.

So not true. I have been reading who the delegates are and 90% are base supporters.

Trump will have at least 300 hand picked delegates, Cruz will have 200. The rest will be picked at conventions etc. I estimate at least 75% will be conservative activists.

I will remind you again the Iowa SoS ran for a delegate in the 1st district and didn't make it in favor of three Cruz supporters.

Well he only won just Ohio, his home state, that says something, other than for the convention going to Cleveland, not much else.

All pledged delegates (which is over 90% of them) are required to vote for their state’s primary winner on the first ballot by law. Federal law. Under penalty.

This story is yet more smokescreen by wishful Cruz/Kasich supporters. It just isn’t going to happen.

Again, Trump will win the first ballot with or without the required delegates. If he’s slightly under it won’t matter.

I've held my tongue about this, but for some time now I've believed that all such articles are part of a disinfo campaign waged on behalf of Hitlery or the DNC, by the partisan media shills. The goal is to suppress turnout. Thanks detective.

Just Dropped In
Kenny Rogers

I woke up this morning with the sundown shining in
I found my mind in a brown paper bag but then
I tripped on a cloud and fell-a eight miles high
I tore my mind on a jagged sky
I just dropped in to see what condition my condition was in

Yeah, yeah, oh-yeah, what condition my condition was in

I pushed my soul in a deep dark hole and then I followed it in
I watched myself crawling out as I was a-crawling in
I got up so tight I couldn’t unwind
I saw so much I broke my mind
I just dropped in to see what condition my condition was in

Yeah, yeah, oh-yeah, what condition my condition was in

Someone painted April Fool in big black letters on a Dead End sign
I had my foot on the gas as I left the road and blew out my mind
Eight miles outta Memphis and I got no spare
Eight miles straight up downtown somewhere
I just dropped in to see what condition my condition was in

I said I just dropped in to see what condition my condition was in
Yeah
yeah
oh-yeah

He’s 78 with a 6 year old daughter and 8 year old son at home.
He’s too old, tired and irrelevant to be getting inside information from the current party establishment.

Well if that is the case bye bye GOP and everything else. Nomination would be worthless and maybe that is exactly what the GOPe want.

Where is it written that any bound delegate has to vote for a rule favoring his assigned candidate? Do they use a Vulcan mind meld to transmit orders to these delegates?

This is where the fix is in if Trump comes up short of 1237. Count up the number of party hacks among the delegates; if it’s over 50%, then payoffs will assure adoption of a rule opening the door to Kasich.

Only problem is the rules will be written by Trump/Cruz delegates. Not going to happen.

You assume that "Cruz delegates" are really Cruz delegates, rather than GOP Establishment delegates who only align with Cruz to beat Trump.

On the second ballot, the GOPE delegates will vote the way the hierarchy tells them to vote, if they want any future in the party.

It was not “we did it #Cruz”
it was “We did it #neverTrump.”

Bears repeating.

“for some time now I've believed that all such articles are part of a disinfo campaign waged on behalf of Hitlery or the DNC, by the partisan media shills. The goal is to suppress turnout.”

If you think Shepard Smith is capable of suppressing turnout, then I strongly disagree. I can't think of anyone who takes Shepard Smith seriously.

I would believe the idea of Shepard Smith wanting to create a false rumor to attract attention to himself.

But the reason I find it interesting is that Kasich is still spending time and money campaigning. He has literally zero chance of winning or even being considered. He is not even eligible under Rule 40. But people are giving him money to stay in the race and he is spending time campaigning.

There is no logical reason for him to keep campaigning.

Unless he has been told he has a chance at a brokered convention.

Trump and Cruz need as many loyal delegates as possible between them. Note that I said “loyal”, not “bound”. It’s the loyal delegates who will stop a corrupt rule change. If Cruz drops, it should only be after the convention rules are approved by a convention with as many loyal conservatives as possible.
