Congratulations to our presumptive nominee, Donald Trump!

Congratulations to our presumptive nominee, Donald Trump!

Great job in New York and throughout this campaign. Cruz and Kasich are now mathematically eliminated and just like all the others who were mathematically eliminated should concede and drop out so we can all unite behind our nominee and prepare to defeat the godless America-hating traitor Hillary Clinton in November.

As conservatives and patriots, it's time to put bruised egos behind us, heal our differences and act united in the best interests of our nation. The media and the GOPe will try to keep us divided, of course, but we must not fall for their treasonous tricks.

A divided Republican party will ensure Hillary waltzes into the White House in November.

Freedom is never more than one generation from extinction. Hillary would be a third term for Obama and would complete his mission of completely destroying America.

Do not let freedom expire on our watch!!

I'm praying this forum and our loyal members will now be shifting into high gear to defend our freedom by uniting against the treasonous enemy within.

Let's get Trump over the 1237 mark and finally take the GOPe completely out of the picture!!

Then onward to the presidency in November!!

LOL, I had no idea we had a poster NAMED zot....

Heh! Yes. My screen name is from the sound lightning makes in the BC comic strip. I picked it before ZOT acquired its special meaning on this forum.

I would guess the owner of this site can exercise any discretion any way he sees fit.

Learn it nate.

Btw, I did read your 873.

For the good of Free Republic it is necessary to have a clear understanding of the ground rules for posting and replying.

You're telling the owner what is necessary? You sound like a homeowners association type nate.

Again, I would imagine the owner of the site can use any discretion he sees fit.

Perhaps, because the subject of the thread is Trump?

I nominate FR's very own 'Zot' to be our official mascot when JimRob decides that someone has to ride the lightning!
You should always be *PINGED* for that kind of event! LOL

I’m sure that he will.

He gave us a preview when Hillary accused him of “having a history of mistreating women.” Trump responded by saying that: a) he didn’t; b) that Bill Clinton is the prime example of mistreating women; and c) that Hillary Clinton enabled Bill to continue to mistreat women by covering for him. That made the Hillbillies STFU for about 2 weeks - they just didn’t know how to handle it.

He’s just warming up. We’ve got the server, Benghazi, the Clinton Foundation and its tens of millions of dollars of accepting “donations” from foreign governments, her crap record as Secretary of State, her low energy, etc., etc. Trump will do just fine against the Witch.

At the risk of being repetitive ...

There’s about 7 months between now and the General Election. I’m watching and listening.

Quite without any input from you, I confirmed in two succeeding replies my understanding that Free Republic is the property of Jim Robinson and it is his to manage as he sees fit:

1. #873 (addressed to Jim Robinson):

This is your forum and you can do with it as you please, that is not at issue.

2. #952 (addressed to one-day wonder QuinqueViae2)

I am powerless to do anything about it, [it] is up to Jim Robinson.

Three times now, despite the fact that you declare that you have read #873, you insinuate that I have somehow challenged Jim Robinson's authority over this forum. You have done this having read the contrary in reply #873 and likely in #952 as well.

I have no quarrel with Jim Robinson. Nothing could be further from the truth. My quarrel is obviously with you for your persistent intriguing and transparent attempts to maneuver me into being zotted.

I will manage my relationship with Jim Robinson without any presumption from you and I will do so with a sense of deep gratitude to him for having created the premier conservative forum in the world.

I heard you loud and clear nate in #873 where you told the owner of the site what is necessary. Ask the owner of this site if he can use any discretion he sees fit.

I bet you have a homeowners association meeting to preside over. Got get um nate and report back!

Are we absolutely verboten to express any opposition to Donald Trump? Are we forbidden from expressing any support of Ted Cruz? Are we free generally to advance positions that are contrary to Donald Trump's? Are we free to urge Donald Trump while a candidate to change his stated policy positions? Are we obliged to support both the man and his policies or remain silent? Are we enjoined the from criticizing the nominating process as process? For example, may we defend the caucus system if it is criticized by Donald Trump? Must we simply accept in silence Donald Trump's definition of trade as proper conservatism?

I am surprised to see you ask these questions at all, as you already know the answer. FR has always tolerated rational dissent, you've been here long enough to know this.

The only thing JR has done in this thread is zot those Cruzers (as opposed to a Cruz supporter such as yourself) who hate Trump so much they came on the thread publicly to rebuke Jim, as opposed to disagreeing, and publicly cry they will never vote for Trump. #nevertrump is what he won't tolerate, particularly now that he should be known as the presumptive nominee.

I find that a sensible policy.

Even though the question is essentially academic at this point (since Ted Cruz will not garner the nomination under any circumstances), for the sake of debate, I ask you to please explain to us how a mathematically eliminated Ted Cruz gets the nomination at a contested GOP convention, having arrived with less than 2/3 of the needed delegates, in such a way that doesn't hopelessly splinter the party and guarantee a Hillary voctory in November. What say you?

Have you seen Cruz's vote totals? Donald Trump has received over 2.4 million more votes than Ted Cruz, and that gap is only going to widen. What say you?

Furthermore, Ted Cruz has performed abysmally in ever single swing state. I posit that he is not a viable national candidate. What say you?

Oh, and as a final request, please try to limit your comments to the questions I posed, rather than lapsing into your typical ad hominem attacks against Donald Trump.

Well aware of the truth, you have repeated your insinuation now for a fourth time. You can repeat your distortion 400 times and it will be as big a lie as it was the first time.

Just how scurrilous a tattletale were you in grammar school? You have revealed yourself as the Eddie Haskell of Free Republic.

Donald Trump would probably put it this way:

LITTLE DRAGNET 2 IS THE EDDIE HASKELL OF FREE REPUBLIC

I'll keep working to keep Trump from being nominated, and if he gets the nomination, I'll sit back and watch the trainwreck as he gets clobbered and we lose the House and the Senate.

I guess Jim has decided to let a few of these folks dedicated to fighting against us stay on.

Well, since he has allowed Trump supporters to stay on who have vowed to vote for the Dems up and down the ballot if Trump is not nominated, why would he have a problem with me staying? At least I am not threatening to actually vote for the Dems...
