Is There Not Cause to Fight for Conservatism?
Conservative Review ^ | 04/20/16 | David Serenda

History is the most effective teacher we will have in our lives, because it gives us the answers to life's situations. This is especially true with war stories, as they tell of great courage in the face of even greater despair. Allow me to take you back in time to when a fierce battle was talking place between the armies of the Philistines and armies of Israel.

As we study the history of this battle, we find both armies atop separate mountains with a great valley separating them. As Goliath, the leader of the Palestinian army, mocks the nation of Israel, they fear his great size and run and hide. Today we find a similar battle between liberalism and conservatism. Each army (the political campaign) is on their mountain (agenda) with a great valley (the place of battle) between us, and just like in this story, the liberals are the aggressors, mocking our nations founding and Judeo Christian values.

For 40 days, Goliath (liberalism) came out and challenged the armies (political campaigns) of Israel (conservatism) to battle, going as far as to say, “This day I defy the armies of Israel! Give me a man and let us fight each other.” As the armies heard these words, they feared the giant and fled and hid themselves. From King Saul to the lowest ranking member of the army, they were dismayed and fearful.

“I was mistaken, and I thought it was about the U.S. Constitution”

That leaves a certain Canadian born, GOP establishment hack out of the thing, doesn’t it?

Nope, continually disproven in a court of law.

Principled conservatism hasn’t become a whore. It’s those who run in Congress that purport to support it until they get to Congress and then it’s out the window.

A lot of talk that never mentions having your community overrun with foreigners that have nothing in common with Americans.

Stop the invasion or blood will flow. I care about nothing else.

Destroying the uniparty IS fighting for conservatism.

You just in a pissy mood or just took what I wrote the wrong way?

Agreed. This illegal immigration needs to end. We need a wall. We need to increase the border patrol. We need every bit of technology to make sure this ceases.

We need to deport those who’ve overstayed their Visas. We need to deport those that we find here illegally. And over time this will put an end to this.

And in the end the U.S. Constitution will be followed by having the federal government simply acting on its federal authority.

No. I was just pointing out that this is for the U.S. Constitution. Neither of the two was the case.

We had a David ready and able to slay the liberal Goliath.

His name was Rand Paul.

GOP wasn’t interested as pandering and showmanship won the day.

So here we are.

I liked Rand Paul. And unfortunately, we have pandering and showmanship on display today. We should be having debates with policy on display on national television.

Instead, we get soundbites from the news channels.

Google it, FRiend. When Cruz said today that Trump guys may as well put a Hillary! sticker on their car, I realized he is NOT going to allow her plan B to win. And a top aide let slip accidentally that Sanders was being considered for VP. Until today I wanted Trump/Cruz unity, but I see why that’s not in the cards now.

"I was mistaken, and I thought it was about the U.S. Constitution, conservatism and the country."

Do you believe the Uniparty is upholding the Constitution and is promoting Conservatism and protecting the country? Because if you do then you shouldn't vote.

No. That’s why we’re having an election. And Washington isn’t going to fix Washington. A POTUS, no matter who it is, is going to fix Washington.

It will take the states to do it. The people in those states, no matter who is elected, will have to be resolved to do it.

Been watching it for decades.

Calgary Ted Bush was a citizen of certainly two and perhaps 3 countries when he was born. There is no way he is a US NBC regardless of what some state court says.

"A POTUS, no matter who it is, is going to fix Washington."

A POTUS can dismantle his own party apparatus and that is the goal to dismantle the GOPe. Throw out the bums and get some fresh faces.

The state Governments are controlled by the respective Party Apparatus. It all starts with the parties, First the GOPe then the Demonrats. Until that happens nothing will change.

The people in those states, no matter who is elected, will have to be resolved to do it.

They can't be resolved to "do it" if no one, through party-loyalty, or direct benefit, keeps them ignorant of exactly who the "enemy" is.

Trump got my vote when he gave out Lindsey Graham's phone number.

I’m not going to support someone purposely pulling us to a contested convention.

I’m not going to support a party that engages in this as a strategy.

If that’s what you want, you are going to have to elect them all without me.

I’m done with the GOPE, Ted Cruz, and their idiot supporters.

FUTC, and you too.

The guy could have left the circumcision part out the disturbing image I got was Trump's hands...

But, there is a point to be made by this guys premise..there is a Cause to Fight for Conservatism.

In my view far to many salt of the earth Conservatives are so sick and tired of losing year after year that they will believe some NY tin horn liberal is conservative because they think he will win.

In my part of fly over country what you do is far more important than what you say you are going to do. Mr. Trump has conducted himself as a NY liberal for decades. (although the esteemed owner of this site would no doubt disagree with that assertion).

I see no reason Trump would suddenly change his stripes. We get a lot these hundred millionaire's, billionaire's out here. I deal with them as little as possible but when I do, the thing that comes up over and over when they get off their private jets is that they don't want to deal with the “public.”

IMHO Trump is either intentionally or most likely unintentionally going to destroy Conservatism in this country. He is not one of “us” no matter how some wish he was.

Reagan united the three legged stroll of Conservatism e.g. fiscal responsibility.religious liberty and overwhelming military superiority.

I must admit I'm more than a bit discouraged. After all of these years of slowly pushing the country to the right, suddenly when folks see that a Trump presidential victory might be possible they could care less about fighting or standing up for Conservatism as it has been thought to be since Goldwater .
