Wednesday while campaigning in Hershey PA, Republican presidential candidate Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX)said his rival Donald Trump was afraid of a debate with him because he lacked substantive solutions on policy.
Cruz said, What I agree is that the Democratic process works, and Donald whines and complains when the voters reject him. The voters are going to decide. Weve won five states in a row. Donald won his home state, which surprised nobody. And its the people we are seeing Republicans uniting behind our campaign. Because if Donald is the nominee, Hillary wins and she wins by double digits. The stakes for our country are too great to continue down this disastrous economic road and this foreign policy that empowers our enemies. And so I couldnt be more encouraged at seeing the unity we are having across the country. Donalds desperation had everyone wanting to just give him the race. It shows that hes scared when the people decide. You know, if Donald had confidence in his positions, wed have a debate in Pennsylvania, before Pennsylvania votes. What is Donald Trump saying to the people of Pennsylvania that he thinks they dont deserve a debate? What does it say about the corrupt big government Democrats that theyre willing to have debates. That Hillary Clinton is more willing to have her positions challenged than Donald Trump? I think thats disgraceful. I think any candidate owes it to the voters to defend their positions.

Good for him! Now he is throwing away that good will.
Cruz’s support is shrinking among the grassroots day by day.
Excellent analysis FRiend!
I merely put salad dressing on the excellent point “who’s we bucko?” :-)
So he’s doing this just to help his business acquire cheap foreign labor? Seriously? Think of what you’re saying. If ‘touchback amnesty” as you call it is just a ruse to bring illegals right back in the country so he can have cheap labor at his construction sites, then why even deport them in the first place? What you’re saying doesn’t even makes sense. If cheap labor was his end game, then why even run for office? Why not let one of the other candidates, all of whom have much more liberal policies on amnesty and illegal immigration, do the heavy lifting to get elected instead of spending millions of his own dollars to do so?
Cruz is a smart attorney. Not charismatic. Not an inspirational leader. Has never risk his life for his country.
Trump is a vacuum headed con-man. Dumber than a rock on a fence post. No vocabulary, no substance, no policy, no conviction. A loudmouth circus huckster than can keep media ratings.
None deserve the honor of leading a major political party in a contest that determines the future of that of our children. Both are failures of the first order.
One will eventually be nominated, the result will be the same nationally. The shrillary beast backed up by the powers of a corrupt republic and illiterate products of national education will mercilessly pound either to dust.
Doom lays heavy on the land.
Shhh!! Stop making so much sense to the twisTED sycophants. Logic does not compute into their programs.
Indeed, Trump should simply ignore Cruz, as the electorate has already begun to do.
Before too long, Cruz will come to grips with his own irrelevancy.
Soon, the same GOPe which duped him will take him to the side and tell him the reality of the situation.
And the reality is that Ted Cruz' Presidential campaign is over for 2016.
Ted Cruz has no path to the nomination, contested or not, and he needs to let that sink into his thick skull. He won't arrive at the convention with more than 700 delegates, if that. Cruz has become a caricature, a shining example of the effects of blind ambition.Ted Cruz is nobody, going nowhere, doing nothing.
I really have no desire to denigrate the man, but he is doing this to himself at this point, and the whole nation is witnessing it. Ted Cruz has been exposed as a naked, unprincipled opportunist whose ambition exceeds his love of country.
It's actually quite tragic, but I don't think Cruz is willing to step away from the brink. He seems intent on pulling a Thelma & Louise. But what he needs to realize is that the electorate, the GOP, and even the GOPe are not going to accompany him off the cliff.
It's painfully obvious to any objective person, to anyone with the slightest shred of intellectual honesty, that Ted Cruz will not be the GOP nominee under any circumstances whatsoever.
I dislike and pity Ted Cruz more each day, and I now have no doubt that I made the correct choice in rejecting him, after he was my initial favorite.
Ted Cruz's profoundly un-Christian, amoral behavior, at several key junctures of this campaign cycle, has demonstrated unequivocally that he simply is not ready to be President yet. He has some significant maturing to do first.
If Ted Cruz does the right thing, and very quickly, he might salvage things enough to try again in 4 or 8 years. But his relevancy to this year's election has ended.
Ted Cruz has nothing left but his own blind ambition, and his once bright political career is now at risk due to his narcissistic behavior, which makes Donald Trump look meek by comparison.
What a non-statesman Cruz has become...
Vote Trump
Debate until Crooz wins one I guess...
Lawyers can talk your head off because they get paid by the HOUR...NOT for results
Yet he fights on to the convention. What’s in it for him, besides headache and worry? Why didn’t he offer his delegates to Trump a month ago and let us supporters reconcile with each other? But most importantly, why is Ted Cruz willing to torch his political future by taking down Donald Trump? Throw away a lifetime’s Constitutional work just to be shot all to hell now? Why?
What would be the point in debating someone who was already mathematically eliminated?
Sorry, Ted, but your run is over. Face it.
Good one...
Sounds like someone wants a hail Mary to avoid a final goose cooking
It’s obvious Ted’s a religious man... he’s banking on a “Hail Mary” pass at this point...
