Prediction Markets Show Cruz Craters After Deal With Kasich; Fiorina, Pence Not Boosting Him
Breitbart ^ | 2 May 16 | Boyle & Badolato

Posted on 05/02/2016 6:26:21 AM PDT by xzins

The data compiled here on Breitbart News comes from PredictIt, a betting market that creates an almost free market interpretation of what might happen in a given political election.

The Texas senator had been above 50 cents— But, after the (Kasich) deal, Cruz has crashed and despite two desperate measures—the announcement of his vice presidential pick Carly Fiorina and the Pence endorsement—has not recovered.

Almost instantly after the Pence deal, Trump took a commanding lead over Cruz. While at one point on April 24 the markets had Trump under 40 cents, by midday April 25, the markets—in response to the Cruz-Kasich deal—had corrected themselves to have Trump at over 60 cents. Since then, the markets have only benefited Trump with just small upticks for Cruz that undo themselves moments later when he announced Fiorina as his running mate and when he received the tepid backing of Pence, Indiana’s governor.

Trump, with new polling showing him well over double digits ahead of Cruz in the Hoosier State, has now skyrocketed way ahead of the Texas senator there—and is widely expected by financial analysts to win the state on Tuesday. Heading into Sunday, Trump was close to 75 cents—and he is now over 90 cents projected to be the winner.

“The markets have really been ahead of the polling and ahead of the pundits,” Rothschild said. But your best bet for accurate and reliable political predictions, it turns out, is actually the marketplace.”

It appears as though Cruz is headed for an epic defeat on Tuesday in Indiana, If Cruz loses in Indiana, it is widely expect that Donald Trump will win the GOP nomination for the presidency outright before the Republican National Convention in Cleveland in July—and that neither Cruz nor anyone else including Kasich will be able to stop him.

Zero strategic thinking skills. That is NOT what we need running this country. Trump is so many moves ahead and levels above every other candidate in this respect.

Trump is a deductive thinker - he begins with the goal and works back from there - no wasted motion - only what contributes to the result.
— Bill Mitchell (REAL) (@mitchellvii) March 21, 2016

Guys like Cruz are inductive thinkers. They are so obsessed with the ideological front end, the actual result is an afterthought.

I can’t believe what we are seeing from the Cruz campaign. We are witnessing a political suicide.

Cruz, even though he realizes he’ll lose Indiana tomorrow, still won’t give it up. He’ll hang on for California and that one last impossible win to legitimize his convention inside-the-wire sapper campaign.

Personally, I expect him to go to California and get the religion of the illegal and call for legalization and THEN do something about the border. This win is just that important to his ego.

Lying Ted Cruz is having a very public mental breakdown.

Some delegate-data chick on FNC today predicted Trump at 1281 delegates by the end.

Correct me if I’m wrong...maybe it’s only the media...but does it appear to you that Fiorina is in the driver’s seat?

It sure does to me.

She’s got the microphone, she drives the agenda, she appears to be the main representative of the campaign.

Trump will clinch this - and when he does I expect Cruz to endorse him.

I for one am glad that he’s been pressuring Trump. We don’t need someone running loose without being pressured to be better.

We have a representative democracy - each state decides its own rules for primaries... the federal government doesn’t. So Cruz is going at it the way it was designed. Trump is going at it like we live in a pure democracy.

In any event, Trump will win it. Again, thanks to Cruz for keeping Trump accountable.

flame away

Those who had Cruz “above 50” are morons. He has not been viable since.... well I’m thinking... give me a minute.. Okay he has not been viable since Iowa.

I don’t know how the Cruzers could keep supporting him. It’s obvious that Ted is a megalomaniac who only cares about power. If he was such a principled conservative, he wouldn’t be going around trying to steal delegates, making back room deals and cozy up to the Bushes.

Many are saying Trump has 1002 now. If that is accurate then my personal spreadsheet gives Trump 1289.

The Kamakruzie Kronicles
II

26 April: The kamakruzies storm from their bunkers. Screaming their war cry #NeverTrump, they are beaten back by an over 3:1 popular vote across 5 states. How could this happen? Wisconsin was supposed to turn the tide! To console themselves, they read and quote passages from the RINO rulebook to one another.

Now they straggle toward Indiana to make the first of their last ditch final stands. As they retreat, the kamakruzies tune to Tokyo Ted. He tells them of new strategies to win the GOP civil war. A new alliance has been forged with the kamakasicks against the Donald. He has also appointed the kamakarLie as his second in command. Delegate theft operations continue. They must fight on to Cleveland and destroy the Donald at all costs.

And by the way, adds Tokyo Ted, I’m now in the middle of a big-money firestorm. The witch has raised a 100 million and the Donald has a billion dollar slush fund. Will you make an urgent contribution to my campaign to defeat the Donald? Some of the kamakruzies look down at the ground. They begin to wonder if there might be a better use for twenty bucks.

Meanwhile, the goblin queen surveys the landscape. She is alarmed by the advances of the Trumpian army. Her chieftains report, fighters in his ranks that would normally be hers. Too bad that Tokyo Ted can’t get any votes. He would be such a lovely opponent. She recalls how her comrade Claire McCasKill handily defeated the kruzian clone, Tokyo Todd Akin in Missouri 4 years ago. She prays to her gods for such good fortune.

In the meantime, she is at least satisfied that the GOP civil war continues. And if Tokyo Ted’s treachery can depose the Donald in Cleveland, then her prayers will be answered.

Well she has actually signed paychecks on the front. I actually liked her at first - zero balance budgets etc. Way better at that then Ted. There is a LOT she knows that Ted hasn’t a clue about.

Cruz is crashing in the polls now. What happens to his momentum after he loses the next 6 contests, often placing 3rd?
He is done.
— Bill Mitchell (@mitchellvii) April 15, 2016

If Cruz destroys the Party at the Convention then loses to Hillary, he is finished politically - BUT if he quits, he has a bright future.
— Bill Mitchell (@mitchellvii) April 15, 2016

Yes, Cruz is a narcissistic jerk - and exactly why he will likely quit before Cleveland. Narcissists don't often commit suicide.
— Bill Mitchell (@mitchellvii) April 15, 2016

I'm going on record as predicting CRUZ QUITS BEFORE CLEVELAND in a magnanimous gesture to save the Party gaining future leverage & goodwill.
— Bill Mitchell (@mitchellvii) April 15, 2016

Does narcissistic Cruz at age 45 seem like the kind of man to destroy his career just to stop a man with whom he largely agrees on policy?
— Bill Mitchell (@mitchellvii) April 15, 2016

People say Cruz will stay in to the end out of ambition - but political suicide is not ambitious. Being the guy who "savedthe Party" is.
— Bill Mitchell (@mitchellvii) April 15, 2016

Cruz going to Cleveland would be the equivalent of a Kamikaze pilot diving into an enemy ship. Bad for the boat, worse for the pilot.

After seeing Cruz on Meet the Press yesterday talking to Chuck Todd I wonder of Cruz will ever allow himself to endorse and support Trump. He seems entrenched in his mind that he will get the nomination and beat Hillary. I think at this point is he delusional and needs someone to explain things to him.
