Rubio delegates urge Trump to make Florida senator his VP
Washington Examiner ^ | 05/06/2016 | GABBY MORRONGIELLO

Nearly a half-dozen Louisiana delegates who previously supported Marco Rubio released a letter on Thursday pledging to back Donald Trump at the convention and calling on the presumptive Republican nominee to choose Rubio as his running mate.

"Previously being undeclared after supporting Sen. Marco Rubio, the five undersigned delegates feel it is important to coalesce around one candidate and begin the process of party unity for the ultimate goal of defeating the Democratic challenger in the fall," wrote the "Rubio Five."

The letter, which was obtained by the Washington Examiner, continued, "We firmly believe the process of achieving consensus involves not only supporting the presumptive nominee but also asking him to listen to the will of the other voters who may not have originally supported him."

I would worry about backstabbing if I were Donald.
Rubio has far more ambission than skills to do anything.

But, watch Rush talk this up for months.

Children of foreign nationals are not natural born citizens.
Rubio, Jindal, Cruz and Haley are ineligible.

And what is the reason for taking on a VP candidate who could not even win his own state? Even Ted Cruz and Kasich took theirs.

There is no “there” there in this.

The only thing Rubio brings to the ticket is a VP matchup against Castro.

And not sure if Rubio can out debate him.

Rubio has said recently that he was “tired of the Senate.” I don’t want a VP who “tires easily” of the job he has. Beyond that, Trump doesn’t need someone who would arrive at the job with “his track shoes on.” And there’s always the issue of being constitutionally qualified. So hell no!

I can’t see Rubio taking it unless Trump can dramatically turn his poll numbers around. But I guess the same is true of anyone who might add something to the ticket.

Rubio couldn’t even win FL in the primary, so he brings little to the VP slot, except 173 delegates.

Rubio has proved himself to be a lazy senator.

I think Rubio may have a place in the Trump Administration, I’m not convinced VP is the right fit at this time.

If Trump gets to 1,237, Rubio will be in Trump’s rear view mirror.

“Which Castro?”

Julian. The one who spoke at the 2008 rat convention. Former mayor of San Antonio, now part of the Obama cabinet. He is the logical choice for Hillary. That can give her Houston, Dallas, San Antonio, which will mean Trump will have to spend bucks in a solid red state.

Absolutely no. Among others:
Rubio was part of Gang of Eight.
He is not a nbc.
He lacks a work-ethic, wouldn't perform his Senate duties.
His juvenile behavior during and after the ABC debate revealed he isn't ready for VP.
He failed to win in his own state, would not be of help to against Hillary.
He lacks experience and talks like a robot.
He is controlled by special interests such as Barman.
He would not attract Hispanic voters - we saw this with pandering McCain.

Absolutely NO.

Rubio personifies the open-borders coalition, which directly undermines a central tenet of Trump’s campaign. To add him into the mix would be one of the biggest possible mistakes Trump could make.

Surely if Trump were to do this, he would first make Rubio publicly recant any intention to legalize illegals, pledge to never again back amnesty, and be fully onboard with a border wall and deportations.
