Trump Supporter Sen. Jeff Sessions: Paul Ryan Made “Big Mistake” Not Endorsing Trump (VIDEO)
Gateway Pundit ^ | 5/5/2016 | Jim Hoft

“ Sen. Jeff Sessions said Thursday night that House Speaker Paul Ryan made an error by saying he’s not ready to support Donald Trump yet, and said Ryan and other leaders need to realize the Republican Party is shifting under their feet.

“I think this was a big mistake, I really do,” the Alabama Republican said on Fox News. “And I’m very surprised, frankly, since he’d indicated he’d support whoever the nominee was.”

“The speaker of the House is a big leader, an important figure in the Republican Party,” he added. “He calls on House members every day to stand with him and unity, and he needs to set a good example for Republicans.”

Ryan shocked political observers by saying he wasn’t ready to endorse Trump, and Trump followed by saying he is “not ready to support Speaker Ryan’s agenda.” Despite the bluster, reports soon followed that the two are trying to arrange a meeting.

Apparently he is expecting to change the rules before the Convention.

I agree with you and I think Trump has had him in mind for VP since the day that Sessions announced his endorsement for Trump.

If that is the case what we’re really seeing is the planned disclosure of the upcoming split in the Republican party which the GOP establishment has been planning all along

You may be right, that might be how Trump looks at it too.

However, my own idea is that he is going to pick someone who is probably Trump II with enough political experience and young enough to go 16 years.

Ryan will eventually endorse Trump. But he missed the window of opportunity to do it on his own terms. Now he will have to do like Vicente Fox and grovel. Whateves.

Yesterday, for the first time this year, I envisioned Mrs. Palin being Trump's Veep.

McCain's run for the presidency was a Ringling Brothers clown act and there was no way he was going to win.

Unfortunately Sara Palin was an unwitting participant of that clown car wreck.

There are far more individuals who would qualify for the VP position (Newt Gingrich comes to mind) than Sarah Palin. Her forte' is speaking on behalf of conservatism than being involved in the political process.........

What if after all these public attacks and distancing themselves from Trump by the high profile GOPe who feel their sphere of influence being eroded, Trump just holds a press conference to announce he's washing his hands of the whole corrupt political cabal in DC and does an exit stage right............something like leaving the bride at the altar.

Trump is just gutsy enough to do it and I wouldn't blame him plus he'd still get into history books.

That’s a very intelligent choice and one I have not seen mentioned.

(Newt Gingrich comes to mind)

He's 72. I would think DJT would select someone mature but younger than Newt. Our family voted for Newt in the 2012 SCGOP Presidential Preference Primary. He won SC.

On another thread, Duncan Hunter name was mentioned and he had enormous support. So yes, very good choice.

Hunter was the person who got behind the drive to reinstate, or not allow dismissal of the Special Forces man who defended the young Afghan from the rapist. Can’t think of his name at the moment, but truly an excellent example of what our fighting forces should be like. The Army brass were going to discharge him because of political correctness. Damn p.C. It has to be eliminated. Anyway, thanks to hunter, he is able to stay in the Army.
Look at the garbage Allen West went through because he threatened a captured enemy in order to get information which ultimately saved his troops. Political correctness on the rampage condemned a man who had given his best years to the Army. What kind of kindergarten play pen are the powers that be trying to make out of our armed forces?
Hunter, Sr. was outstanding in the Armed Services Committee. He blew the lid off a lot of the corruption. i used to read his reports religiously. My son. an ANGLICO Marine, told me that under Clinton he didn’t even have enough bullets to train his troops properly. That’s while Clinton was busy slinging the big stuff over the fence at pharmaceutical plants and refusing to take out Osama Bin Laden.

Lou Dobbs said in this video, that Ryan “is breaking his word. A leader can NOT do that.”

Ryan repeatedly said that he didn’t want to be Speaker... Then he became Speaker.

Ryan repeatedly said he would support the presumptive nominee.... Now he isn’t supporting him.

Ryan repeatedly said he didn’t want to be considered as the Republican nominee.... Yet many of us still think he’s holding that option in the wings (and perhaps that’s why he hasn’t endorsed Trump).

Does Ryan know how to stand by his word???? At this point, does anyone believe anything Ryan says???? I certainly don’t.
