Ted Cruz poised to challenge Trump in Texas
POLITICO ^ | May 11, 2016 | KYLE CHENEY

Ted Cruz isn’t giving up.

While Donald Trump dispatches three advisers to Texas’s convention in Dallas this week and makes a pitch for party unity, his team will be running up against a Cruz operation that is still maneuvering to stuff the state’s delegation with allies the senator could call on to snub the presumptive nominee.

“We have a busy weekend planned,” said a source familiar with the Cruz campaign’s plans.

Cruz is scheduled to deliver an address at the Texas convention after a week of hinting he could jump back into the presidential contest and urging activists to thwart the New Yorker’s takeover of the GOP’s policy platform. And despite dropping out of the race more than a week ago, the vanquished presidential contender has deployed at least one paid adviser to the Texas Republican convention – Tyler Norris, his state director. (Trump has three advisers: state director Joshua Jones, deputy director Eric Mahroum and Houston-area director Kayla Hensley.)

It’s not just Texas where Cruz is still playing.

The senator’s team remains active in several of the other eight state conventions selecting delegates this week – from Nebraska to Oklahoma to Nevada. Those conventions, along with party meetings in Arkansas, Florida and Wisconsin, will be selecting 389 national delegates, nearly a sixth of the entire convention.

If Cruz were still working to send the nomination fight to a contested convention, this weekend’s delegate hunt would have been the main event – the largest single delegate selection weekend of the primary season. Now, it’s become a display of Cruz’s last hardcore bastions of support and a forum for Trump to appeal for unity.

More money? Is this clown asking for more money again? This guy has some nerve. To watch that you tube video of Cruz and his wife rehearsing dollar amounts in a commercial is enough to make me ill. These two are users.

“I’m sure the Libertarian Party views this cycle as a perfect opportunity to get on the map.”

They are indeed. On Facebook wars they are making every effort they can to gather up the defecting Cruzlims and GOPe. I have laughed at them, and pointed out that they are seeking to include the most embittered, self righteous and uncompromising element of the neocons and Dominionists, into the LIBERTARIAN party. It is quite amusing, and they deserve each other.

The Libertarians have done nothing with the power vacuum of the past decade. Nothing.

When did we start posting Politico feeds as if it were the gospel and to be taken with an ounce of credibility?

When GOPe operatives weigh in.

“The Trump campaign – they have to go unite Republicans. They’ve got to do that,” said Austin Barbour, a GOP leader in Mississippi, which is holding a convention this weekend. “I think he needs to go talk to the people who are Cruz people, who are Bush people. Donald Trump’s a bigtime underdog in this race. They need to tie down Republican votes and this weekend’s a good start for them.”

I got a Cruz Fundraising Letter in the Mail today.

It says they have a Donor that will match my Contribution.

I thought the Campaign was suspended. What am I missing?

He is and always has been a mawkish conservative lawn jockey in front of the globalists’ manor.

That is a tremendously accurate word picture.

Well done.

When he was a teenager they asked him what he planned to do with his life and he said “rule the world!”

So maybe the Bushes did owe his daddy, Rafael, a big favor. We know the Bushes planned a new world order which would have a leader who “ruled the world”.

Cruz announced for US Senate re-election 2018.
I assume the dough will flow to that objective.

Based on 2016, he may need a lot of money to get re-elected.

“I would rather he influence it rather than Mitt or the Bushes. No?”

I suppose. It is harder to fiddle and fine tune things while wearing a sockpuppet.

Before people jump to conclusions and condemn Ted Cruz, keep in mind that Trump has always done a terrible job of delegate selection and continues to do so. If a candidate who has dropped out can beat Trump in terms of delegate loyalty, that says something about Trump’s efforts. Trump’s plan is to win on the first ballot, but a little more detail is helpful for controlling the whole convention.

So long as these delegates are bound to Trump on the first ballot, Cruz is harmless. I also suspect they will be more loyal to Trump in writing convention rules than establishment delegates would be if Cruz were not involved. If nothing happens to Trump in the next two months, we are better off with these Cruz delegates. If something happens to Trump, I’d rather have Cruz than someone who supports Amnesty. Either way, we win (compared to the outcome without this Cruz effort).

What am I missing?

that he is a deep seated LIAR who should be primaried out of the Senate seat starting NOW. A PAC for financing his removal and replacement should be started immediately... with a goal of blocking any future path he may “see” for a job within government: federal, state, and local.

It should not surprise anyone that a several of his “ahem women” pop out of the woodwork as he continues down this path. And who will be the people who will provide the resources and permission for the press to “do it” to Teddy? Why it will be the very ones that WERE backing him earlier in the election cycle... the GOP e and Hillary along with their accomplices in the press.

Repeal and replace Ted Cruz... the “unprincipled conservative”.

Will Reince issue the “knock it off” call?

No one will pay attention to any call made by ANYONE whose parents named him Reince Priebus. He is now COMPLETELY irrelevant unless DJT allows him a smidgen of meaning.
