Donald Trump said on Wednesday that former Ariz. Gov. Jan Brewer and Okla. Gov. Mary Fallin are both on his shortlist for running mate.
“Well also Jan. Jan Brewer has been fantastic,” he said. “She has been so fantastic. You know I won so big, her territory, we won so big. And she is a fabulous woman. And I agree with you, the governor of Oklahoma -- fabulous person.”
When asked whether Chris Christie is still in the running as a possible vice president pick, Trump declined to give a straight answer, opting to praise the New Jersey governor.
“I don’t want to say 'in there,' but he’s helping me and he was an early endorsement and a very enthusiastic one and he’s a friend of mine and a very good guy and a talented guy and he’s helping us a lot," Trump said.
He said there were between five and seven people under consideration to be his VP and that he will make the announcement at the convention this summer.

He already said he will appoint someone with legislative and Washington savvy. It will be NEWT IMO. AND THAT IS PERFECT!
No one really knows if Donald Trump feels that he needs to pick a woman. Everyone is just speculating.
Political correctness has nothing to do with strategizing to counter Hillary Clinton as the presumptive Democrat nominee and how to go about beating her.
Women were 53% of the electorate in 2012 and Obama got 55% of the female vote.

Blackburn is a good choice as she would help him with the ins and outs of congress, and blunt the anti-woman nonsense.
Just yesterday the rumor mill had Gingrich as the shoo-in. I think there may be some data-mining of the social media responses to these trial balloons going on.
Brewer isn’t real bright, and is a moderate conservative. Not bad but there are much better choices.

House rep since 2008 (longer than Sens. Rubio, Cruz, Paul, etc.)

Hunter has both the LEGISLATIVE experience, AND military chops! He would be perfect!
Plus, at 39 y/o, can easily be groomed for an 8 year term after Trump!

My money is on the nominee being a well-known, younger solid credentialed conservative from a swing state with a lot of Electoral votes (Ohio? Virginia? Florida?) who can put Trump over the top in that state.
I wholeheartedly agree. I count at least four people said to be working up VP selections, it's subterfuge, and part of the campaign. It's probably safe to say that A) he won't be thinking about making a VP selection until he's sown up the nomination, and B) that he already has made up his mind, and probably it was at least a month ago, but hasn't and won't tell anyone who it is. :')

Brewer is also anti-religious freedom. Would be nearly as bad as Haley or Kasich.
