Trump campaign eyes #NeverTrump blacklist:
Politico ^ | 5/13/2016 | Kenneth P. Vogel and Ben Schreckinger

Candidates’ aides and allies want anti-Trump vendors barred from lucrative general-election contracts.

Donald Trump’s campaign is considering hitting his Republican enemies where it hurts: Their wallets. As Trump moves to work in closer concert with the Republican National Committee apparatus, some campaign aides and allies are pushing him to block lucrative party contracts from consultants who worked to keep him from winning the nomination, according to four sources familiar with the discussions.

“The Never Trump vendors and supporters shouldn’t be in striking distance of the RNC, any of its committees or anyone working on behalf of Donald Trump,” said a Trump campaign official.

The blacklist talk — which sources say mostly targets operatives who worked for Never Trump groups, but also some who worked for Trump’s GOP presidential rivals or their supportive super PACs — strikes against a Republican consulting class that Trump has assailed as a pillar of a corrupt political establishment. It’s a sweet bit of turnabout for Trump aides and consultants who in recent months were warned that their work for the anti-establishment billionaire real estate showman could diminish their own career prospects.

If Trump’s team makes good on the blacklist, it could elevate a whole new crop of vendors, while penalizing establishment operatives who attacked him, often in deeply personal terms. But it also could put Trump’s campaign at a competitive disadvantage as it scrambles to quickly beef up capabilities in highly technical campaign tactics that it largely eschewed in the primary, including voter data, direct mail and phone banking. Newly minted presidential nominees typically install staff at their respective parties’ national committees, and have been known to steer contracts to at least some of their favored vendors, which often provokes backlash.

I would hope Trump does NOT become a rear echelon butthole and allows good generals and commanders to execute plans designed and devised to obliterate the enemy and not make friends with the adversaries.

WHY do you have any doubts about Trump? Already he has defied the ENTIRE WORLD with his stand on waterboarding. He knows using all means available to assure victory is the only way to go. He went to Military school. He admires Patton. What more in assurances do you want?
Where do you get your negative assertions from? The Hillary camp, maybe?

Historical events. I subscribe to the Reagan Doctrine. Trust, but verify. It has served me well since 1982.

“Direct Mailings are really passee. People don’t read them”

Absolutely right, IMO. Printing, stuffing envelopes and postage is the worst use of campaign funds there is. It actively annoys people to receive it. As do cold calls on the phone.

Social Media — Twitter and Facebook — posting is incredibly cheap and is more likely to actually be read these days. People lament that Facebook is not attracting young people as much as older folks, but that just makes it the perfect medium to reach actual voters. Posts get read and shared by supporters to all their friends and family — and people read it because they want to know what their friends are interested in. This interest cannot be generated amongst apolitical types by snail-mailed brochures. And Facebook doesn’t “curate” user posts like it does “news articles”.

I’ve been working on election committees since the 50’s.Never have I seen an election like this. It is imperative to balance the condition of the country NOW and the NEEDS of the country IF we are to retain the United States of America. We cannot look forward to survival as a nation-state if we do not elect Trump. He is the ONLY choice we have. Hillary will deliver this country to the new world order without a backward glance. Trump believes in America FIRST.
Time is critically short. We must not fritter away the advantage Trump has gained by bickering among ourselves that he is rude, or crude, or inexperienced, etc.None of that counts for a bloody damn towards correcting our economic decline nor the Marxism that is taking over our Republic. I do not give a HOOT or Holler what his faults are. It is his STRENGTHS which will save us if anyone can. The qualities he does possess are what this country must have right now. RIGHT NOW!
An elitist attitude isn’t worth a snowball in
Hell. Roll up your sleeves and get involved working for Trump’s election. STOP the negative crap!

Well, that contradicts what Trump said about not needing some conservatives’ votes. That’s a fracture.

It’s not weak to extend a hand out to your former opponents to swell your numbers If he doesn’t do it, even from a position of strength, it will be a significant mistake.

Are you referring to Cruz? On a side note, I’ve watched just about every rally or Trump speech since Jan. I haven’t heard trump speak about not needing conservative votes. Could you link that to me please? Thanks!!

Sorry no, I’m referring to Trump. I will find a link - there might be something upthread. I’ll be back with a link - I’m still working and beholden to that first :)

OK, here’s a quick one from ABC’s “This Week.”

Does the party have to be together, does it have to be unified?” he said during an interview on ABC’s “This Week” Sunday. “I’m very different from anybody who’s perhaps ever run for office. I actually don’t think so.

“I think it would be better if it were unified,” said the presumptive Republican nominee in an interview with NBC’s Meet the Press on Sunday. “And I think there would be something good about it. But I don’t think it actually has to be.”

“I have to stay true to my principles also. And I’m a conservative, but don’t forget, this is called the ‘Republican Party,’ not the ‘conservative party.’”

Thanks
