London’s Cockney culture is being driven out of one of its last remaining bastions, Newham in East London, which has seen its white population halved in the last 15 years. The area now has the lowest white population in London leading to pubs and working men’s clubs are closing down and a loss of Christian traditions.
The borough of Newham lies just five miles east of the City of London, banking capital of the world, but locals say it now looks less like a British city, more like Baghdad.
The area was once characterised by its white working class population, mostly cockneys who moved in during the 1800s as dockworkers during an era of unprecedented global trade. But now ethnic minorities make up 76 percent of the borough’s population, making it the most multicultural place in Britain.
“People who haven’t been for many years come out of Upton Park Station and say: ‘I can’t believe what’s happened here, it could be Baghdad,’” says Peter Bell manager of the East Ham Working Men’s Club.

I felt a little like this when I arrived at Dulles airport yesterday.

You know, the Mohammedans around here seem to be assimilating at a rapid pace, especially the girls. Once they graduate from high school they lose the burkhas and are off to college, most of them studying medicine, nursing, biology etc. The boys are showing great athletic prowess and are likewise off to some fine colleges on full boat athletic and academic scholarships. One of the local boys graduated from the university last year and is off to law school in the fall. He’s a good kid, a smart boy. His girlfriend, btw, is also a Mohammedan but lost the burkha about three years ago when she arrived at college. Something is attracting them...I’ll bet it’s freedom and opportunity.
And the end of formerly great Britain.
When we were young we went to Paddington Station too.
1 block away and it turns into a multi ethnic nightmare, but not really. It was a muslim nightmare. Men ogled my fiancé. We didn’t feel safe.
A year or 2 ago a muslim stabbed a woman to death in Paddington Station, IIRC.
When I walked through a park on my visit to London in 1985, a young woman with blond hair was walking with a male companion near a group of men who looked Middle Eastern. One of the men actually shouted at her in a Middle Eastern accent, “may I have your body, English girl?” He yelled that three times, but the girl ignored him.
Today, if she ignores him, she gets beheaded after the rape or gang rape as the case may be. Or maybe crucified.

“Former London McDonalds worker plotted suicide terror attack at Heathrow Airport, court hears,” by Amita Joshi, GetWestLondon, May 16, 2016:
A former McDonalds worker was trained by Al Qaeda to become a suicide bomber and attack Heathrow Airport , according to US court papers.
Minh Pham, who previously lived in South London’s New Cross, was taught to wear a backpack containing a bomb and target passengers arriving from America and Israel in the west London airport.
