Notice how “the system” operates. The cop is dirty so he's told not to show up for court a couple of times then the DA “dismisses” the case. But then there's this stupid “refile law” that serves to keep the citizen from taking further legal action. I support good law enforcement, but from my perspective, there's not much of it in evidence here in this country today. 95% of cops give the honest 5% a bad name. Just mostly thuggish people who have been given guns and badges and sent out to harass and harm the people who pay them.

If the kid was drunk, as the cop says, why did they let him go and not get tested? That would have sealed it against the mom.

As it is, the police were very heavy-handed. She shouldn't have let the kid drive the cart, though.

Oh, yeah I remember! I was around 8 when we spent summer up in the Catskills. My dear old Dad, an avid golfer started teaching me the fundamentals of the sport, and also gave me my first driving lessons on those old Cushman 3-wheelers.
