ROANOKE, Va., May 23, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Likely presidential nominees Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump are tied in Virginia with each garnering the support of 38 percent of likely voters, according to The Roanoke College Poll. While only 11 percent of likely voters said they are undecided, another 11 percent said they would vote for someone else and 2 percent stated they would not vote if Clinton and Trump were their only choices. Both candidates are significantly "under water" with regard to favorable/unfavorable opinions.
The Roanoke College Poll interviewed 610 likely voters in Virginia between May 9 and May 17 and has a margin of error of +4 percent.

Hopefully means Virginia is in play.
And with the recent court decision upholding Virginia voter ID, hopefully it will be harder for the Democrats to steal Virginia.
It does and Fairtax County will not be able to pull their sneaky games.
I hope that court decision will be a safe guard against Gov. McAuliffe’s recent release of all of those felons.
If Trump can compensate downstate for the D.C. suburbs, he might be able to put Virginia in his column.
There’s a question as to whether McAuliffe had the power to restore voting rights to thousands of convicted felons all at once.
He does have the power to do so on an individual basis....depending on the adjudication of a particular crime.
The court case will decide this soon enough. If the judge rules against McAwful there will be an injunction placed on this stopping it cold.
This could be good news for future polls in Florida and North Carolina...
Bad news. Virginia is treading bluer as the DC suburbs vote more and more like inner cities. 12 years of Bush brought nothing to Northern Virginia but leftists, and 16 years of Clinton and Obama certainly brought only leftists. Even the military contractors are now dominated by leftists. I have a friend who works as a contract employee, and he’s had 10 different managers above him for 8 different military contractors, and all ten were lesbians.
The hope for Trump is that he might win over some traditionally bluish states, like Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin.
Fox’s national poll showing Trump ahead also showed that the none-of-the-above were as likely to lean Republican as Democrat, so to my surprise, that evidence suggests that nationally, we’re not looking at the none-of-the-aboves as Bernie fans who will simply go to Hillary after the convention. So that’s great news.
I’ll admit one of the reason I’d been so angry at the way Trump went after Cruz was I believed Trump was going to destroy the first chance since 1984 to elect a conservative. (I also was angry at what he did to the public discourse, and I’m not convinced he was conservative, but I have no problem choosing Trump over Clinton.) And NATIONALLY, the signs are that I’m getting ready to joyfully chow down on crow.
But Northern Virginia is the land of the politically correct, like one giant state-university campus. You could probably easily be fired at 90% of the jobs here if you showed up to work with a Trump sticker. And that PC mentality has brainwashed people. Many people here actually drive 30 MPH on 35 MPH roads! (Many do 50, too... but you have to be a sheep to be under 50 years old, and drive less than 35 on a 35 road.)
So, if on the whole Trump does gets a little better than Romney or McCain, I wouldn’t be surprised if Virginia is where he does a little worse. And Romney and McCain lost Virginia.

Personally, I feel no convicted murder, rapist or other violent criminal should have their voting rights restored!
Lesser crimes/felons should be eligible. However, upon any future recidivism, should automatically result in total revocation of any voting franchise!!!

Every voting Virginian---even dead voters---noticed Ohaha//Biden were too scared to even mention Obamacare....nor did the two Clinton lunkheads mention that McA supported it....... ADDENDUM It was recently revealed that VA DMV latino personnel handed illegals phony licenses---the license which enabled them to illegally vote for McAwful.
Good post. I think it depends on how many folks who are into Trump/not the establishment this cycle that never really paid attention to politics or voted before will turn out. It might actually be better for our side with a much higher turn out for once. We’ll see.

Virginia all depends on the turnout in the southwest and central part of Virginia and whether that can overcome the Northern Virginia leviathan. Trump will also do better than a normal republican in Northern Virginia because he is not a social conservative. Trump can definitely win Virginia, but he has work to do.
The newly granted prisoner voting rights will put her offer the top but the nationwide and state by state trend is definitely Trump’s friend!
I Registered before the deadline as a Republican for the first time in a decade to help put Donald over the top on June 7th. Can’t wait!!
That’s what I am thinking. I wonder if there will be an increase of first time voters this cycle.
