Shocking Poll: 52% of Brits Now Favor Leaving the European Union

A shocking new poll has been released in Britain by The Guardian, one of the country's leading newspapers. According to the results, 52% of British voters now believe their country's interests are best served by getting out of the European Union.

A so-called Brexit would cause a political earthquake in Europe. As we reported earlier, it's likely that it would result in more referendums in other member states about the fate of the EU.

The last month or two, the European powers that be in Brussels were sitting back while polls showed the Remain camp firmly in the lead. That has now all changed:

Public opinion has shifted towards the UK leaving the EU, two Guardian/ICM polls suggest as the referendum campaign picks up pace – with voters split 52% -48% in favour of Brexit, whether surveyed online or by phone. Previous polls have tended to show voters surveyed online to be more in favour of Britain leaving the EU. But in the latest ICM research, carried out for the Guardian, both methodologies yielded the same result – a majority in favour of leaving.

“Our poll rather unhinges a few accepted orthodoxies,” said ICM’s director, Martin Boon. “It is only one poll but, in a rather unexpected reverse of polling assumptions so far, both our phone poll and our online poll are consistent on both vote intentions and on the EU referendum.”

When those without a firm opinion on the matter are included, the Leave camp now leads 45% to 42%. Once the undecideds are filtered out, Leave proponents like former mayor of London Boris Johnson and UKIP leader Nigel Farage are firmly in the lead with a majority of British voters backing them...

This is, after all, only a referendum. There's no guarantee the sitting government won't say "noted" and move on. And, presumably, take the consequences, if any, during the next election.

HERE is the BBC's take on the issue for the curious. An Exit vote would be a tremendous public relations problem, but Parliament still has to pass the necessary laws...or not.

That’s FANTASTIC. Thanks for posting it. Five minutes into it, I saw the whole scam and understood why Brexit is a big deal. Not done watching it yet.

"Shocking Poll: 52% of Brits Now Favor Leaving the European Union"

The "Shocking" part is that 48% still think the EU is a good thing.

I watched it. Makes me cringe to think of what goes on in Brussels. Reminds me of a situation we have here and what goes on behind closed doors in D.C.

Dear Britain,

If you actually serious about leaving the EU and no longer being ruled by Brussels, you have to start electing people who believe in accountability to the public at large, not just whatever minority group pops up a few signs.

So long as your nation is eager and led by those who would surrender every single rational thought to the whims of tiny minorities, you will continue to be slaves to your government, no matter if it is Brussels or elsewhere.

/s/
Those who rebelled.

PS: If it’s unclear, our president went to your nation and basically threatened you with trade sanctions if you chose to leave the EU. This is what happens when you vote for idiots like him.

I find it hard to believe England will exit the EU if they do it will be because what they saw take place in the London Mayoral race. This will be their last chance to save any English identity.

I always said that Hitler would have accepted the EU as a consolation prize.

I’m shocked alright; that it’s not 98% in favor of getting out.

I offer my encouragement to our British brothers.

They will be first in line for a bi-lateral trade agreement under a Trump administration (And Trump should announce this) while the EU is mired in a long, arduous negotiation with that same administration.

If Britain leaves, most economically stable European countries will follow.

Switzerland seems to be doing just fine, and they’ve never been an EU member.

When it comes to a vote, they’ll vote to stay in the EU.

Some dimwit on Maria B’s Fox Biz News show claimed that Brexit was more favored by older voters, claiming it was in contrast to the Scottish exit vote where those favoring a united sovereign UK were older voters. /boing! He also claimed that it would result in 45 percent unemployment and crater property values, thus hurting the very older voters supporting Brexit. Yeah, there really are people that stupid managing investment portfolios.

Watched the whole thing, EU membership kind of matches the OBASTARD administration; unaccountable bureaucrats, unlimited regulations, no voice of the average person on those regulations or the people implementing them, bureaucrat's getting richer, average people getting poorer.
Time well past to kill all the government bureaucrats.
