I tried to warn them at the time not to go along with this farce.

I think Brussels still calls the shots, but we’ll see.
Hope against hope the EU breaks up into two dozen very small pieces.

The anti-establishment wave is global, and there are no better representatives of the establishment than the Brussels bureaucrats.

This morning’s news that EU bureaucrats want to force them to use official government ID’s to log into Facebook should only boost those numbers.

But...but...then the UK will drop into the abyss!
And shiftless, socialist Scotland will leave the UK and join the EU!
You don’t want that to happen, do you??

I heard Geert Wilders said that if Britain goes, the Netherlands probably will too.

This is all theater for the masses.
Even if 60% vote to leave it isn’t going to happen. Not for real. Cameron and company will say it takes a couple of years of negotiation and legalities to complete and then they will pull a legislative rabbit out of the hat that keeps them in.

This is, after all, only a referendum. There's no guarantee the sitting government won't say "noted" and move on. And, presumably, take the consequences, if any, during the next election.
HERE is the BBC's take on the issue for the curious. An Exit vote would be a tremendous public relations problem, but Parliament still has to pass the necessary laws...or not.

Dear Britain,
If you actually serious about leaving the EU and no longer being ruled by Brussels, you have to start electing people who believe in accountability to the public at large, not just whatever minority group pops up a few signs.
So long as your nation is eager and led by those who would surrender every single rational thought to the whims of tiny minorities, you will continue to be slaves to your government, no matter if it is Brussels or elsewhere.

Those who rebelled.
PS: If it’s unclear, our president went to your nation and basically threatened you with trade sanctions if you chose to leave the EU. This is what happens when you vote for idiots like him.
