Not being allowed to possess or use guns is not at all the same as magically, somehow, making guns inaccessible to everybody.
There are scofflaws and miscreants everywhere, and if they wish to obtain a gun, a vast underground economy exists that cannot possibly be fully controlled. There will be those who actually MAKE the guns and ammunition, of varying quality, as well as those who transport and run a clandestine distribution network, regardless of stern warnings to cease and desist. Part of that is rooted in the highly profitable nature of those transactions when successful, and part of it is sheer human cussedness that when presented with a challenge, the ways around or through that challenge becomes the greater game.
Decriminalize marijuana but not guns. What is the moral basis for that? What is even the practical basis for that?
