Teen Mom Rejects Abortion After Rape, Now Child Protective Services Has Taken Her Baby
Life News ^ | Jun 17, 2016 | Micaiah Bilger

An Alabama group is alleging that a young rape victim who chose life for her son experienced another traumatic situation this week when government workers took the newborn away from her.

According to Terri LaPoint, a writer for Health Impact News who witnessed the situation, the 14-year-old girl allegedly was raped by a 19-year-old and became pregnant. The unnamed girl chose life for her son and gave birth to him on Monday in Alabaster, Alabama.

The 14-year-old received several visits from the hospital social worker after her son was born; and on Wednesday, LaPoint said government officials from the state Department of Human Resources came and took away the baby boy.

LaPoint observed that both the young mother and her son were healthy, and neither exhibited signs of abuse. The mother does not have a history of drug or alcohol abuse, LaPoint added. According to the report, the DHR officials told the family that there were “safety concerns,” but they would not say any more.

The report from Health Impact News has not been verified or reported in the mainstream media but, if true, is extremely troubling.

According to the report:

We were told by Jamilia, the hospital social worker, that DHR was notified after the baby’s birth. When grandmother Dee Prince asked why they were called, she was told that this was “protocol.” Months ago, when the mother reported the rape to the police, the police notified DHR, citing policy, because the rape victim was a minor. Jamilia assured us that this was different than the part of DHR that takes children away from parents, and that this was just a procedural thing that they had to be notified of the birth, and that after the DHR social worker stopped by to visit, the family could go home.

… There was no court order, no warrant, and no sign of imminent (or any other) danger, yet hospital social worker Jamilia literally ripped 51 hour-old Braelon from his mother’s arms right after he finished breastfeeding, under the direction of DHR supervisor Ahzshaka Evans, with the approval of 3 Alabaster police officers, led by shift supervisor Officer Edmunson, Detective Raugh, 2 security personnel, and hospital Director of Risk Management/Compliance Ashley Cole-Tyson.

By all accounts of the nursing and medical staff, the young mother was doing an amazing job of mothering her baby son Braelon. She loves and adores her baby. Even though he was conceived in rape, it is clear that this is HER baby.

Later, the young mother and her twin brother, who both live with their grandparents, also were taken away by government officials, the report states. LaPoint said the young mother was then allowed to see her newborn son. The report is not clear about whether the 14-year-old had her son returned to her or whether she merely was allowed to visit him.

According to the report, the 14-year-old planned to raise her baby with her grandparents, who have custody of her and her siblings.

A hearing is scheduled for Friday.

Juda Myers from the pro-life group Choices4Life, which provides support to women and babies conceived in rape, also was involved in the situation, according to the report. Myers called the 14-year-old a “hero mom” because she made the brave decision to parent her son, despite the trauma and abuse she experienced during his conception.

Rape victims who become pregnant often face societal pressures to have abortions. In 2014, rape victim Analyn Megison wrote for LifeNews how people look at her in horror when they learn that her daughter was conceived in rape. She said they often view her daughter as a product of rape, rather than a valuable human being.

“My basic human rights were violated when I was raped during his violent attack years ago as I plead for my dignity and humanity, but I think that one of the things I am still having to advocate for is the basic human rights of my child, and other innocent children like mine,” Megison wrote. “Not only am I not an object for use by a rapist, but my child is also not to be reduced to a mere product of a violent criminal act simply because of how her conception took place.”

God bless the mother for carrying and delivering the baby. May the supposedly protective services return the baby to its mother.

Because children do far better when raised in a two parent opposite sex married family than raised by a single mother, much less an under-aged one.
And her odds of finishing high school, being gainfully employed and getting married are higher if she puts the baby up for adoption than if she tries to raise it.
Bless her for not aborting. Now she should give it to a stable family to raise for both their sakes.

"It" is a human being, and he already has a family.

Really? Then why does the story say the girl and her siblings are being raised by the grand parents?

19th CIRCUIT ADA, C.J. ROBINSON STATED “THERE WAS A HUGE AMOUNT OF PUBLIC MISINFORMATION” REGARDING DAVID & REBECCA HUBBARD CASES

Combining the DA’s apparent view on pedophilia with the realization that many judges, lawyers and The Department of Human Resources (DHR) in the 19th circuit are placing innocent children in harms way through the court system, by forcing them to live with those involved in the dangerous drug trade and with pedophiles makes for a very lethal and potentially explosive combination.

How did family of 'pedophiles' operate unnoticed for years? Social services under fire for not seeing 'ring of abuse' from eight members of the same Alabama family going back six years

Barry Spear, a spokesman for the Alabama Department of Human Resources, said privacy statutes prevent the agency from commenting.

'I can't even say whether we're had any involvement with this family at all,' Spear said.

Joshua's Story

My handsome blessed only son Joshua M. Lewis born Yehoshua Mikael Lewis on a beautiful August 7, 2010 day at Martin Army Community Hospital in Columbus, Georgia is the answer to my prayers for joy. To have him come into my life and to have a family that I was deprived of as a child was a blessing. Yet Yehoshua Mikael Lewis, my son is the victim of a fraud family court. Judge George Roy Greene, of Russell County Circuit Court who helped lawyers, psychologists, Phenix City, Alabama Police, Russell County, Alabama Sheriff's Department, Russell County Department Human Resources Child Protective Service Workers, including my then residence authorities of Lee County, Opalika, Alabama Judicial System and other unprofessional officials in my opinion committed fraud through illegal civil and criminal matters to aid and abet a pedophile. There are undeniable facts, evidence, testimony and through his lack of objections in the court records of Russell County, Alabama Circuit Court as well as the Alabama Court of Civil Appeals, my child and myself have been wronged.

SNIP

On September 15, 2011 an Alabama Department of Human Resources Child Protective Service worker flew from Alabama to Washington D.C. to kidnap my son Yehoshua Mikael Lewis. They flew him back to Alabama without my notification or permission, yet they left me in jail for no reason for seven days. On September 21, 2011 I was released from Washington D.C. jail and tried to locate my son at the Washington D.C. Child Protective Services and he had already been in Alabama for six days. I have not seen or heard of Yehoshua Mikael Lewis whereabouts, well being, location, or had any contact since. I have to pay child support and I am in Virginia for protection while my son in somewhere in the world with a pedophile.

Should the 14 year old have put the baby up for adoption? Yes.

Nonsense. There were grandparents in the picture, and this young woman has every right to raise her own child, by default. And obviously by definition, this female is biologically capable of parenting a child.

Without a compelling reason, backed fully and extensively by meticulous due process, judges orders, warrants, etc., the state has no right to separate this mother from her child! It's a heinous crime.

Barring a compelling, even overwhelming necessity, there is no bigger crime the state can commit than to arbitrarily separate a child from its mother like this. Unbelievable. There should be an outcry, given the limited information I've seen.

This is extremely hazardous territory on the part of the State, and without extensive justification, which I have not reviewed, it makes my blood boil...

One should consider first the welfare of the new born

The close (and general) family is infinitely more qualified to determine the "welfare of the child" than an overbearing, often arbitrary State, in almost every circumstance. For the State to intervene there must be a compelling, and I mean compelling reason.

Anything less is an invitation to Tyrannical mayhem, as we have already seen.

I don't think it's a very controversial statement to opine that the DCF almost always causes more harm than good.

"Welfare of the child, my ass". Perpetuating such intrusive agencies is much more likely to be for the welfare of a bunch of meddling bureaucrats to keep their "we get to play God with the little people" jobs.

Every personal anecdote I've heard regarding DCF and their ilk has been an absolute horror story, and by that I mean a horror story initiated by the needless intervention of the State in their hysterical effort to protect the "welfare of the child".

As far as abuse of State power, there's not a more perilous thing in government than DCF or whatever the acronym happens to be in your state.

I'm absolutely against such maximal government. I'm not saying such actions are never needed, but only in compelling circumstances, and it certainly isn't necessary to have these huge, self-important "Spanish Inquisition" type bureaucracies interfering with how people raise their children.

When Christian families (who, say, employ spanking) start getting persecuted and having their children taken from them by the State, all "for the welfare of the child", of course, it'll be these agencies that do the dirty work.

God forbid. This is the kind of diabolical system you end up with when you abandon the principles of limited government, and instead let the ever-expanding Nanny State dominate...

...I’m torn, I really am. On the one hand having government goon squads bust in and take kids is an ugly thing in the best of times.

But on the other hand, an unmarried teenage GIRL is by cold hard statistics about as unfit to raise a child as you can get. With birth control literally being handed out in schools and almost all doctors willing to prescribe the pill or IUD’s to any girl who got her period, short of outright rape the only reason she got pregnant was sheer childish carelessness.
