And I’ve seen numbers in other polls saying as many as 90% of American Muslims (certainly recent refugees) support Sharia Law. And Sharia Law is polar opposite to our Constitution so why wasn’t it even mentioned in this left leaning article? How can you judge someone assimilated when they don’t even believe in our political/legal system?

Haven’t the recent Muslim terrorists been second generation? Boston bombers, San Bernadino, Orlando etc. Sure they seem pretty assimilated, as terrorists, not so much as good citizens.

That is how I see it, they cannot assimilate while Muslim, their beliefs do not allow it. To really assimilate they would have to stop following their beliefs and darn few ever do that.
I agree with the premise of the article. The VAST MAJORITY of Muslims do assimilate.
The other 3% to 5% simply kill Americans, in ever increasing numbers.
I guess if people are HAPPY with a 95% to 97% assimilation rate...then it will be hard to convince them that the others, like the ones shooting up bars in Orlando, are a problem.
