Appearing on the Today show, Monday, to promote her new shark movie, actress Blake Lively implied that the reason her character is in peril is global warming. Talking to Savannah Guthrie about The Shallows, she asserted, Because of global warming, sharks are pushed closer to shore. And she's attacked and you think of a shark attack being in the deep ocean, but its almost scarier when shore is right there.
SAVANNAH GUTHRIE: Well, set the scene for us a little bit. We kind of did. Nancy is your character. She's brave. She's a medical student. So, we know she's resourceful.

I used to swim out to a reef, poke a sea urchin open with my spear, swim back about 20 feet, and then watch the feeding frenzy. The little fish would immediately attract the bigger fish and so on outward. Then you would just shoot a big Drum, Jack, or Shark. Then I would drag the thing to the beach and someone would pay me $20 for the fish and I would use the money to go buy pizza and beer.
Now that I look back on it I suppose it wasn't the smartest 200 yards of swimming dragging back a bleeding out big chunk of meat through the reef, shallows, and surf.
Does anyone really believe Blake Lively has used her brain for anything since hitting puberty?
During the U.S. Open coverage, a Golf Channel analyst mused that climate change might be the reason that it was raining heavily on Thursday. I mean, seriously, what climate do people think was in place before 1990 in the northeastern U.S. in summer? To his credit, he said it “might” be the reason. See, if DJ had any brains he would have told the USGA people that climate change made his ball move.
Y’know, I grew up about 20 miles from Oakmont, in the 70’s, and I DO REMEMBER it raining heavily in the summertime.
Yeah, I saw that. That was Frank Nobilo. I guess we'll just call him "the Nob" from now on.
Wouldn’t the shallow water be warmer?
Yup.
Darth Vader cut off Luke’s hand because of global warming.
We’ve been seeing more in the Mississippi also.
Going back to when they started recording them, most shark attacks occur in less than 5 feet of water. Global warming pushing sharks in to shore? Uh, no.
“Bull sharks have traveled up the Mississippi River as far north as Illinois “

I used to hang out at a bar in Oquawka Illinois that had a small one mounted that had been caught by one of the patrons. Looked like it may have been 40 lbs or so.
The snowflakes love and respect wildlife but are scared sh!tless when in actual contact with it.
Or -
They do stupid things around it and get mauled or eaten.
It’s not called ‘wildlife’ w/o reason.
Maybe she’s lively in bed, but not much lively activity between the ears.
Fixed it.... dumbass.
Yeah, we were watching a movie once and the question was asked, “Why did they do THAT?”
A half dozen of us chorused “Because it was in the script!”
Unborn at the time most likely. I don’t really know but that’s a SWAG.
How come there were no records kept during the settlement of Jamestown?
Good thing she wasn’t in Jurassic World, she’d be proclaimed as an expert in global warming.
