Apple disses Trump, because of course they should
San Francisco Chronicle ^ | June 21, 2016 | Mark Morford

Will hardcore Trump supporters – like this sweet, all-American Arizona voter – stop buying iPhones? Will iPhone fans who also love Trump now hurl their devices into the sewer and switch to Samsung, a vaguely creepy foreign company that doesn’t give a damn about US politics, and will therefore happily support a hunk of rotting asparagus if it will sell them more Galaxy S’?

Apple is also moving Trump's campaign emails to the spam folder so people miss it.

If Trump is elected, I look forward to the utter lack of influence Apple will have with his administration.

And if Hillary is elected, Apple will be waaay back in the line behind the Saudis and Chinese.

I’ve never done business with Apple because, seriously, why would I want to pay more for inferior hardware? Why would I want no choice in the applications I’m using?

I’m no crunchy chewy douche nozzle. I’m not going to do business with a company that offers an inferior product because it’s trendy or “cool”.

As far as I'm concerned stick Tim Cooks iPhone up where the sun don't shine.

I wonder what all the Tim Cook backdoor fanboys that inhabit this forum have to say for themselves. They have been silent lately.

It’s hard to find a cell phone not made in a Communist country but there are a few. Best bet seems to be HTC made in Taiwan - https://www.quora.com/Are-there-any-current-cell-phones-not-made-in-China

I like my Apple products and I have thousands of dollars invested in the stuff. I have also loved their service over the years. Consequently, changing over will not be easy, but over time I will make the change. Change to what, I have no idea.

I do not like the homosexual aspect of the Apple company, but working for the destruction of my country is too far over the top for me. I will not spend another dime for new Apple products. As things wear out or go outdated, I will replace the desired items with a different Non-Apple product. This is going to be a PIA. The Pervert Cook has ruined Apple for me.

I am only one person, but my entire family uses Apple products.....that is going to stop.

When the gay CEO spends more time on social issues, gayness, rather than business issues, it's time to sell the stock.
My wife held Apple in her 401K. Did well. O have been hammering her to sell. I asked her a basic question, “When was the last time you were in an Apple store?” Oh two years ago to get information on an iPhone. I said well they have nothing to attract you. Time to sell. She did and with my prodding again bought Amazon ( hated Bobos but the company is a disruptor) She bought at noon and in the after market it jumped $100. I am the hero.
I am tracking Target. Another gay CEO who is crashing the company.

FUApple. You users of slave factories.

Sigh, no, WKUHilltopper, you are wrong. In fact, the assemblers on Apple's assembly lines are among the best paid workers in China. In addition, Slaves do not queue up by the thousands to apply for every vacancy on the Assembly lines making Apple products because Apple's contracts with those companies making Apple products specify that the working conditions must be far better than other assembly lines and the worker pay is between two and three times greater than other workers receive. Apple places its own company employees into these plants as monitors to assure these conditions are met, unlike any other Consumer Electronic makers such as Microsoft, HP, Sony, Lenovo, Toshiba, Samsung, LG, HTC,etc, who ALSO contract with the same contract assemblers who merely join watchdog groups and pay their assemblers far less.

Try changing your battery you iphone users!

Not a problem. Batteries for iPhones are for sale on Amazon, along with instructions and the tool kits for DIY. Cost is usually under $10. I did one for my daughter about six months ago. Easy.

If these phones are made in China, we have children making them, we have cheap parts, and anything else you can think of, and then to come over here and associate with one the biggest traitors to our Country, Paul Ryan, that is a blatant slap in our faces...so Apple, I phone, whatever doesn’t need OUR American Business!!!

Not true. Apple aggressively audits its supply chain for child labor and has actually pulled a $2 billion contract from a supplier who was egregiously violating its contract with Apple by employing underage workers. Apple's contract requires their contractors to PAY for the entire college education of any underage worker found in their employ through age 26. That is a strong dis-incentive for hiring anyone underage. As a result of that aggressive stand in the last fourteen years, there have been fewer than 50 underage workers found among over 1.5 million workers in Apple's supply chain, most of those that were found were using false IDs to get the jobs.

Apple is known for not using "cheap parts" but rather for using high quality components. That is why Apple products have a high re-sale value and last for years. For the rest, you may be right on.

If Trump is elected, I look forward to him helping Apple repatriate some of the taxes they should have been paying.

Do you always listen to Democrat talking points? Apple is among the largest tax payers of American businesses and in fact has one of the highest effective tax rates of American Corporations at an annual Effective Tax rate of 27.9% on the last corporate Income Tax Return. In 2012, Apple paid more US Income Taxes than any other US Business, sending $1 out of every $40 that the IRS collected in Business Income Taxes that year. Apple is paying every dollar of taxes it owes.

The money that Apple holds off shore is from money it EARNED and paid income taxes on off shore. To repatriate that already taxed money, the US government wants to TAX it AGAIN at a 38% rate, even though it was already accounted for, and had INCOME TAXES PAID in the jurisdictions where it was earned! These are funds essentially in Apple's savings accounts. . . which Apple is told it cannot bring home to invest in America without giving a huge share to Uncle Sam!

The USA is only one of TWO countries in the world that taxes already taxed earnings like this. The other is a land-locked, podunk African dictatorship. All of the rest have modern taxation systems that recognize their businesses need to bring their earnings home to invest in their own home countries without being fleeced by their own governments!

Just as silent as when Bill Gates gives 20 million to the Clinton foundation.

Bill Gates funds the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation to the tune of over $50 billion. . . which funds worldwide abortions and put a lot of money into Core Education in the US. Microsoft was also giving more than lip service to LBGT, funding a lot of their legislative efforts ten years before Tim Cook said a word about the subject or even came out of his closet. Microsoft has given far more money to Liberal and Democrat political efforts than Apple ever has. . . yet Apple somehow has the reputation of being the Liberal company while Steve Jobs made this statement in 2004:

Steve Jobs on political involvement: "Some people have said that I shouldn’t get involved politically because probably half our customers are Republicans – maybe a little less, maybe more Dell than ours. But I do point out that there are more Democrats than Mac users so I’m going to just stay away from all that political stuff because that was just a personal thing."

Steve kept Apple out of politics.

HTC contracts with FoxConn to do its assembly just as much as any other cellphone maker. FoxConn is a Taiwanese company.
