Congress will introduce legislation to ban all State Department officials from using private email accounts and servers to conduct any official business, the Free Beacon has learned.

The legislation, to be introduced Tuesday by Sen. David Perdue (R., Ga.) and viewed by the Free Beacon, comes in direct response to the repeated disclosure of sensitive classified materials as a result of Democratic presidential frontrunner and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s private email server.

U.S. officials familiar with the legislation characterized it as a sweeping reform effort meant to ensure that U.S. officials never again jeopardize national security through the use of private email accounts and servers like those used by Clinton.

That’s the ticket! They ought to do what the Democrats did to Tom Delay. Pass the law first then prosecute her for breaking it!

How meaningless. It's already illegal. But an out of control Department of Justice refuses to uphold the law. And a spineless Congress refuses to impeach, try, convict, and remove.

This is more of GOP supporting Hillary off the radar. There’s already laws forbidding this but Hillary ignored those laws. This move makes it look like it wasn’t clear for Hillary.

As bad as when McCarthy “slipped” and said the Benghazi committee was about Hillary’s poll numbers.

It's their MO. They want to look like they're doing anything without doing anything.

Will the nation survive until Trump takes office in January?

They should institute a total ban on use of private email and/or servers in the federal government (all branches), with public caning, immense fines, immediate termination, AND a long jail term for anyone found doing public business on private exchanges. Repeat offenders should be a REAL trouble.
